Why teh freaking everyone is blaming carry trade? It's not carry trade at the first dominos, it's US unemployment data.

It's not even unemployment, it's the expectation of an interest rate cut in the US meeting the reality of no such cut happening for a while. Combined with weaker than expected Q2 financial reports, it set off a cascade of selling, a downward reset for revenue projections, the threat of layoffs, etc. In other words, a standard market correction initiated by some short term panic selling that causes capital market valuations to slightly discount.

theyre not blaming the carry trade its the interest rate differential which is the cause of volatility, japans just got out from neg int rates.boj delayed its next hike as of yesterday but teres still a lot to unwind, boj has basically sunk japanese econ over last 20 yrs.

First it was derivatives, then the carry trade, next it will be the quarter quell. Margot Robbie will have a lot of explaining to do.

Derivatives were never the problem. It's always people who don't understand derivatives blame them

Dont worry tomorrow the market will be up, because Warren B said "be greedy when when people are fearful and be fearful when people are greedy. Tomorrow people will be greedy because other people are fearful"

interest rate differential on carry trade is the cause of volatility, still a lot of carry trade to unwind and more volatility due to that, boj shied away from another int rate hike yesterday.japan had neg int rates before and the boj basically bombed japans econ the last 20 yrs.theyre not dynamic nd wont alter their stance when the circumstances change, the fed for all its faults does respond.govt debt is the problem US has at its root, needs to be reduced significantly, how?less spending more taxes,no politician will sign up for that.well not until theyre elected that is!!
