No. MP's are actually not allowed to be arrested while serving. It's a parliamentary privilege. In this Constitutional Monarchy, they are pretty well isolated against criminal charges after leaving office unless it's very extreme, like some sort of violence.

Do Canadian electoral candidates have to lodge a deposit as they do here in the UK, where it's £500 or C$865? You lose it if you get less than 5% of the vote. If that guy put up 76 of the 84 candidates, and none of them got anywhere near 5% of the vote, it should have cost him a great deal of money?
