These tournaments were fun. Great stories from players who managed to attend their first big lans like this and experience being a pro from countries with less big name talent but still plenty who ended up becoming pro later down the line
maybe im masochist or just blinded by nostalgia but i enjoyed being support back then, when you got stuff done it felt so nice, since it was always a struggle to achieve anything i also liked being offlane solo vs trilanes lol im fucked
nah, these times were just better you could also carry the games solo with ES/MK/Rubick support. Hell, even correctly timed Lion blink + hex would do so much impact. Now no one can carry, everyone's got everything so that means everyone is of the same strength and resources matter not much, especially when they became far more accessible.
I have some nostalgia for the days when I would finish every game, win or loss, with wand mana boots and nothing else, but I would not choose to go back to those dark days.

To be honnesr, thats the times i liked dota the most AND i played the best dota. Just one epicentre in the right moment into 3 or 4 and the fight was won. Sit on that advantage. Farm. Win game. Easy receipt! While now there is comeback mechanics, gold, farming patterns and speeds, scalings, new items to counter, t5 items, etc etc. Lot of it is to balance the game. But as insania said it 'much simpler times'
