Thanks for your video. It helped out a ton changing the lower control arms. One thing I had to do different. On the left side, we had difficulty manuvering the axle to line up. I ended up removing the top bolt where the strut mounts and let it pivot down and fint the correct angle. Went back together smoothly after that. Thanks again. Randy Anderson
I changed my lower control arms on 2014 nissan maxima. If you remove the brake caliper and tie it up high as possible, remove the brake disk, then remove the bolt to the sway bar that is attached to the strut, remove the brake anti locking sensor and wire from around the strut, remove the bolts that hold the strut and move the strut end to the left, Now, the lower control arm comes out and goes back in free and clear, zero hammering needed including hammering the ball joint....I learned this from another video... I did use a fork to separate the ball joint on the old control arm, but didn't need to hammer the ball joint on the new control arm at all. Also did not need to hammer the lower control arm bolts. I put the two inner control arm bolts in first didn't tighten the nuts just started them, then the ball joint bolt, then tightened the three....gives a little more wiggle room but probably didn't need it. Then reattached the strut, sway bar end, anti lock sensor, brake disk and caliper. Torque is 117 on the two control arm bolts, and 46 on the ball joint bolt.
I'm so glad that you guys made this video. I've been buying your parts for years now and when it comes to your videos, the content quality is top notch.
I just did mine. Thanks. The easier way to me is to align it is to remove the two big strut bolts and you can play with it almost effortless to get the pin in. You should have there other two anchors point already in.
I just replaced my passenger side control arm last night… I think I said every cuss word known to man… at least 3 times. That strap trick would have came in handy. Definitely going to remember that when I do the drivers side.
okay guys so none of his methods work for me so i had a friend give me a hand and we found a way easier way. Remove the axle from hub to get more play out of the hub and then line up the two bolts before the ball joint is in place. take a 10mm socket and line up the top part of the two rear bolts with a pry bar of some sort. YOU MUST LINE UP 1 HOLE AT A TIME. Place the 10mm socket in place of the top hole while aligning the bottom hole. hammer the head of the bolt through fast so pop out the 10mm socket that was holding the bushing in place. Nobody will shoe you guys how to line the bushing bolts up so just give it a try if nothing else is working guys because the job is not this easy.

Got a nissan 08 altima I've been reading that you can't press the ball joints out and should just replace control arm what you guys think I'm just trying to figure this stuff out now
Would this work on a 99 Altima GLE? I’ve been struggling to find instructions for that year specifically, and it seems like the control arms here are almost the exact same as what I have. Thanks!
Might Be, Having Same Issue Here. I Have Brand New Tires Fully Balanced. Got A New Axles As Well But At 65MPH I Get A Shake Or a Hight Vibration. Not Mentioned I Did An Alignment On The Car. I Noticed Control Arms are Bad On Mines So Im Watching This Video To See If It Fixes That Shake.
I would also check to see if your Altima has a recall. There is one right now for suspension, I'm having mine done right now. Might not have to pay anything after all if there is a recall they can cover
@@osensantos4590 Did you change your lower controls arms? Did it make a difference? I have a slight shaking too, changed the bearing because they got loud. But still a little shaking.

Undo the bottom strut bolts before you wedge or pry on anything. Thank me later.

I'm going to try that. you know its a bitch when they break out the ratcheting straps lol
Hands down best replacement video I’ve ever seen… simple easy explanation as it should be… 🖤 🙏
Easy like that when it's up in the air. Did mine on the ground and it was hell.
Great video! I appreciate how quickly you show the process without skipping the details.
Thanks for sockets and wrenches size details . Appreciated .

Thanks for the strap trick. Did it today.
If I’m replacing my lower control arms should I replace the suspension (i don’t know what it’s called) as well .?
Work on getting the two bolts in first. Ball joint last.😢 this video shows a very difficult way. I wish this video was never made.

Ratchet ftw! Good for leaf springs too
How long does it normally take to do the job
Nice video very informative. Now i feel more comfortable to tackle me next project. Thanks

Is that a gap of 15/16” on the pickle fork?
Can you please show how you got the two back bolts into the holes, not just skip to them already in.

Love the video
Hi...
Thank you for your video, my question is it possible to change only rubber bushing...???
Not worth the time. The whole assembled part is cheap.
Thank you so Much!!
how much should that specific repair cost...AAA auto charges 1000 is that right?
Thank you for this video!!

Excellent
Idk why one of my ball joints won’t go in my steering knuckle hole 🤦🏻♂️
Are the control arms the same for 4cyl and 6cly ?
What is that black bracket connected to the control arm with three bolts used for?
Good question. I'd really like to know as well.
I belive its just for rigidity
Will this be the cause of the slight shaking that i have. Got new tires fully balanced, but having a slight shake at higer speeds

What type of air gun is that?
Where’d you attach the other end of the strap?
What's what you call a professional
i cant get that control arm in for the life of me
This lower control arm is not easy to work on!!!!!!
They charged me 1,000$ for this to be fixed is that reasonable ?
If you do this yourself
I had this done recently and it was about the same price.
This video skipped so much
Do I buy both control arms
