The bar of if my people can't come in I am not coming in is a real event. On one of her own shows in PR they wanted to leave out part of her friends, and she told the management that if they couldn't come in she was doing the show. She said it in an interview with Chante channel.

Google the event and it will blow your mind, seeing the whole theater dark and the lights of all her fans, they singing back her song when her mic was off.
