This is an excellent reminder. I think we only play with soul once we are comfortable to close our eyes and play. An excellent example of people who regularly learn without looking are the Sitar players. Anoushka Shankar's video here shows this. Thye hold the neck so far out in front of them so that it is all feel and music - instead of "where is this note, ah, now I play it."
