30,000 is actually damn cheap for a new boat. An average quality boat brand new runs at least 50,000. I spent 70,000 on my 21ft gulf coast and in my opinion it's an average quality boat.
@Dmac 740 I do not agree with that. Your idea of average and mine are much different. Example his Lowe 30,000 boat in my opinion is a low end low quality boat cheap and way below average quality. Aluminium frame boats are junk. I know they are used a lot up north for necessary various reasons but in general aluminium shell boats are crap. Now when you get to talking about John boats you are talking about absolute a shit quality boat and small skiffs are crap too. Does that mean you can't have a blast and do some great fishing out of a shit boat? He'll no I caught 1000s of fish out of shit boats. I've had several shit boats. I bought my first John boat + motor for 8,000 when I was 14 back In 1996. Caught 1000s of fish out of it. Between my father and i we have owned a 17' Carolina skiff, 30' grady-white, 20' skeeter, 25' parker, 25' Boston whaler, 19' stoner, 17' majek, 38' pursuit, and a 20' lake and bay plus the gulf coast mentioned before.... as you can tell I mostly saltwater fish. We have owned everything from a 10,000 boat to a 200,000 boat. The truth is there is huge differences in quality. And my opinion holds true. My 70,000 gulf coast I find to be very average in quality. My 300 e-tec motor on it cost 25k. I know a lot of people can't afford these things. That doesn't change the quality scale. Cheap boats can be great boats for people that can't afford more more expensive boats... but they still got a cheap boat... I'm also talking brand new boats only not used market deals people can find. There is a gradient scale even if you don't like it. The price range of salt water fishing boats brand new with motors run from 3000 to around 250000. This is excluding off shore fishing yachts like a Hatteras. So a 30000 boat is way below average! Also these prices are alll cheap because no matter what the cheapest thing about your boat will be buying it. Boats are non stop money pits if used regularly and the cost if up keep will surpass the initial purchase cost extremely fast. I know 100s of fishermen and have fished my entire life. When it comes to boats 30000 is very very cheap for a brand new boat and motor. Look at his boat for 30k... it is as bare bones as it gets my friend and it still cost 30k. I'm being real and honest man. I get where you're coming from but it's a bias statement because you justified quality for price. I'm talking about quality based on what you get at certain price points. What you get for 5k, 15k, 30k, 60k, 120k, and 240k is all very different in qualify... no matter what though always enjoy what you got and can afford. Boats don't Catch fish. It's the same with cars man. 50k is an average car to me as well these days.
Awesome boat Jon, yeah I know that Rob and Justin have a deal with FunNSun at Skeeter Boats and have gotten a new boat the last two years for the Turrrr, but this Lowe Stinger is more realistic for most of us out here that would love to get their first bass boat. She is a perfect size for me since I don't do tournaments and would do well in the Ohio River and some lakes around the Ohio, West Virginia and PA tristate area that don't have a HP restriction. Happy for you Jon, you definitely deserve it. Now if one could get Flair into a boat like this as well, then have a Googan Tourney with each member in their own boat. I too hope that one day I will have at least an 18.6 to 19.8 boat with a 150 Merc on it and go chase some Fat Hawgs out there. First I got to get a rig that can actually tow something since my car won't work. lol

Actually, I have the same Lowe boat, so 19 ft 8 inch boat, that’s the length, and I think legally it’s considered a 20 ft boat, at least that’s what my Lowe dealer said. Love my boat, but I have the dual console and the bright red color. I have the Humminbird 9” too, one on console, one on front. And since I’m old, I have the Minn Kota Ulterra, that deploys/stows by pushing a button or from your Humminbird. You’re right, it’s a fantastic bass boat.
