I was there. I remember people booing at Iron Maiden for whatever reason until the Eddie mascot was set up on stage. Loverboy was great but Scorpions and Foreigner were the best part of the day. Which it says a lot already. I was meters aways from Mick Jones when he threw his guitar pick and the suddenly the Juke Box exploding at the end.... What an amazing day.
Back in the day "by ear" was the only way. And I tried to recreate the guitar tone but failed miserably. Other albums that I cut my guitar teeth on were "Mob Rules" and "Heaven and Hell" by Black Sabbath.
Stone cold classic album!!! Still holds up remarkably after all these decades! This was one of many amazing Christmas and/or B-day gifts I got from my parents. I remember the thrill of tearing the wrapper off of this one and losing my young preteen mind once I saw that album cover revealed. Saw the boys on that tour as well at Day On The Green here in the Bay Area along with Maiden, Foreigner & Loverboy. Once again, thanks Mom for taking me to that show and enduring all the noise.. haha.. best mom ever! Good fucking times! And the guitar work and tones on this record go without saying, but can we take a moment and acknowledge and give it up for the stellar bass playing of Francis Buchholz?!?! Seriously, dude is absolutely killing on this track and the entire album for that matter. The man was and still is a badass! Herman, of course, crushing as well! Great fucking band!
My roommate bought this album when it first came out, we were preparing for their concert in San Diego once again. When I heard "Blackout" I said "this is going to be their opening song" and it was. Still love the Scorpions
👋. Bis heute😅😊💥👋🤘🖤🎸😍!!!!!
Dude you might want to explain to the younger members of the audience what a cassette tape is! LOL they don't know of these things like clocks with hands and telephones that were mounted on the wall! LOL😅
I'm from '89 and have this cassette and it sounds way better than this does.If you can't read a clock or don't know good music then that's your parents fault.
Knowing how different things were different back then compared to now (in our modern instantaneous digital society) I belt that felt awesome to get the album that early.
realize I missed a day But I'm too wrecked to care anyway I look around and see this face What the hell, have I lost my taste? Don't want to find out Just want to cut out My head explodes, my ears ring I can't remember right anything Smashed again, an endless state A lot of action, just don't relate Don't want to find out Just want to cut out Blackout I really had a blackout A blackout I really had a blackout A blackout I really had a blackout Blackout I really had a blackout Her leathered skin, throw out the glass Her body's fine when I saw it last A come-on smile, it made me hot But did not make it, or did I flop? Don't want to find out Just want to cut out Blackout I really had a blackout A blackout I really had a blackout Blackout I really had a blackout A blackout I really had a blackout Yeah, yeah, yeah, whoo I really had a blackout, baby I want to find out Just want to cut out Blackout I really had a blackout A blackout I really had a blackout Blackout A blackout A blackout I really had a blackout, whoo A blackout Ooh, yeah, really had a blackout, baby, yeah, whoo, hey What the hell, have I lost my taste? I went to the "Blackout" concert back in 82/83 (I think) and they blew me away !!! I hadn't even heard "The Zoo" before but "Blackoout" has always been my favorite song, at least until I met the boys from "Pantera" in Dallas in the mid 90's. Vinnie was hanging out in a strip club I went to and we talked music, git drunk, and partied with hot strippers!!!
I saw them 7/17/82 at Anaheim Stadium. Iron Maiden opened then the Scorpions then Loverboy then Foreigner. It was so loud and exciting!
I was there what a show guys in leather chicks in spaghetti straps
The exact wrong order of bands tho!
Thank you, You make me miss the 80"s. Love Maiden, Scorpions.... All the Great Metal of that Era 🤘🤘🤘🤘 Class of 83.

Learned to play by ear listening to these guys.

I listened to this casette alone in my room sooo many times in the early eighties. This and Blizzard of Ozz.
I had this cassette before it was even in the stores. My record club sent it to me automatically in '82.
I probably still owe columbia house for getting 20 LPs for a nickle. 😂
Same!

A good friend used to hear Klaus sing "Play Golf" instead of "Black out". Useless comment but I kinda hear it, too.
I realize I missed a day
But I'm too wecked to care anyway
I look around and see this face
What the hell have I lost my taste
Don't want to find out
Just want to cut out
My head explodes, my ears ring
I can't remember just where I've been
The last thing that I recall
I got lost in a deep black hole
Don't want to find out
Just want to cut out
Blackout
I really had a blackout
Blackout
I really Had a blackout
I grab my things and make my run
On the way out, another one
Would like to know before I stop
Did I make it or did I flop
Don't want to find out
Just want to get out
Blackout
I really had a blackout
Blackout
I really Had a blackout
Don't want to find out
Just want to get out
Blackout I really had a blackout!
I like the line spacing, very je ne sais quoi...
