Just so you know, Ateez got 6!!! Music show wins for Guerilla: 2x The Show, 2x Show Champion and 2x Music Bank, which is a first for them btw! First time winning on Music Bank and they won two times in a row already, it's crazy!! But totally deserved! It was about time really
Ateez are truely rising. Wonder who the 4th gen leaders would be between Stray Kids, TXT, Ateez and Enhypen would be. All of the groups are talented tho.
@@vixxexo6855 I feel like this generation isn't going to have a single leader just because each group shines in their own way and so many Stans really like multiple groups at the same time.
it’s just incredible to see that guerrilla, being ateez most outrageous title track to date with the screamo and rock elements, has become their most successful album release. it’s just a testament to how they will continue to push the boundaries and not conform to the building blocks of typical kpop songs, and still be successful
Stay and a new atiny because of this comeback , now rock is back as a musical genre trend so is normal kpop use it now rock in kpop is nothing new in generations 1-2-3-4 said that putting rock metal elements in kpop it is done from the origins of kpop including screams, seo taiji and sm ent used rock metal elements because they were inspired by nu metal and the Japanese visual kei genre both for music and for aesthetic style, the ateez are more reminiscent of a return to the origins of kpop, which does not surprise me given the obsession that hoongjong has for the old kpop. After i heard guerilla i was thinking of H.O.T. '아이야! (I yah!)' 1999 song or another h.o.t or seo or clickb etcc songs
And it's worth remembering Leez and Ollounder are part of Edenary, so their work with Dreamcatcher enabled them to refine the rock influence this far! I'm super in love with this sound and really hope Ateez keeps it (forever tbh, but since that's not realistic at least for a while!)
This song, although it may be “noise” or something people don’t like, the power and anger behind this song is AMAZING. I feel as if it showcased each of them, and god those RAPS ARE INSANE. The screamo, punk and rock elements pleases me incredibly as someone who has always enjoyed those genres, seeing it come into kpop and express those emotions is wild
The thing is, its suppose to be, the msg in this song is pretty much “waking up the world from what the higher ups wants you to see”if you understand the purpose of the song you would know why the song is noise, thing people completely forget concept, some kpop groups have a summer concept of fresh or whatever, others have group concept, ateez concept is well a story concept, they are telling you the ateez universe in certain songs, the world ep1 has been around for a long time, since debuting with pirate king, this is one whole concept thats been building up to where it is now.
@@lsbp4033 oh i’ve been a fan and I truly do believe Ateez has become a big contender in music and within kpop. The talent and their ability to express standing up to the big man and casting down hate and cruelty in any form is something I wish we saw more of. Dreamcatcher does the same and I hope more groups continue to throw that genre and message into their discography for years to come.
This comeback is everything. Me and my younger sister are both huge atinys, and we were blown away by this song, MV and the whole album itself. It feels like Ateez went up a whole new level of quality. It's literally insane. I am really proud by how far they went and how much they improved. They are one of my favourite groups of all times and I'm really glad that their music never dissapoints me.
The screaming and chanting in this song, paired with Jongho's power vocals, is SO metal; I'm around your age I think, so I also listened to a lot of metal, rock, pop punk, and screamo growing up. This song is right up my alley, and as someone who was a more casual Ateez listener before, this song and this album has really turned me into a fan! And this music video, man, so well done. That most replayed section is most definitely for the slow-mo shot of them lifting the flag; just absolutely stunning.
‘The disease is human emotion’ throwback to their second Kingdom performance (Rhythm Ta) where the exact same concept and wording was used… they really hinted at this comeback and lore in a competition before deja vu even dropped. EDIT: Jordan Orme’s video dissecting this MV explains the fish eye lens thing as well as other cool effects used
@@horizon3064 it's not exactly a previous concept. Rhythm Ta, this comeback, all of their music / comebacks is tied together in one over-arching storyline. the diary entries in their physical albums help establish that. i think the Rhythm Ta thing is another event (a heist) that happened within their storyline (maybe even before this one) and this is just more of the waking up the world that they are trying to convey in this comeback. its so cool.
@@horizon3064 of course they did - they used the Rhythm Ta stage to start establishing the worldbuilding, it shows Halateez breaking into a vault with banned art to get the Cromer that HalaHongjoong would eventually give to Hongjoong in the Diary Film.
@@sanb1945 finally I see someone talk about the diary entries! If you read all of the entries in chronological order it makes so much sense and every mv fits in. I feel sad for the atinys who doesn't know about the short book like texts that actually exists in the albums!
it was only during the bridge that i really started to get chills and realized "holy shit, this TRULY does sound like a rock song". in my 12 years of being a kpop fan, i don't think there's a song out there that sounds and could make me feel a similar type of way to how 'guerilla' does. this comeback is just inspiring in terms of overall concept, message, and artistry. ateez has it all tbh; intention, direction, undeniable passion for what they do, and awareness of how powerful art is (specifically in how THEY can influence their fans and just people in general with THEIR music). i value it so much, their purpose and their passion. god, i truly do wonder why can't other kpop groups make me feel the same way as i do with them?
The screamo part?? I was like: “WHAT?? That’s something I have been waiting for!” And you know… those epilogues albums have always the best title tracks… so I cannot wait for the epilogue album of this saga!!
Hate to be that person, but "screamo" is the name of a subgenre (scream + emo, then again some ppl also say it's mainly post-hardcore), just saying screams works :) And I ABSOLUTELY agree with you, ever since hearing it in Pink Fantasy's "Poison" I wished there would be screams incorporated into more Kpop songs (and just metal or rock sounds in general, like Dreamcatcher etc.)
Ateez are literally the single most creative and powerful group in all of kpop.... Ive been into kpop for years and ive never seen anyone like Ateez. This comeback really proved how unbelievable they are.
Although it's not my personal taste when it comes to Ateez's music it really added a interesting and cool take on "noise" music that people like to complain about when it comes to 4th gen kpop with the heavy grunge and metal elements. I need the LP because you NEED to hear Cyberpunk it probably is in my Top 5 favorite Ateez songs of ALL TIME and I wish they would promote it it's on the level of Take Me Home and Utopia
Cyberpunk is the best song on the album, hands down, and also one of my absolute favorite songs of theirs too; Ateez just has so many b-sides that are title track quality. I like Sector 1, and it was important to see how it was connected to Answer, but I so wish they performed Cyberpunk somewhere because damn, it's so good.
Someone said that Cyberpunk is Take Me Home's hotter older sister and I agree. It's just so good, it has one of the best choruses I've heard in a long time.
Hi PD, I've been waiting for this😍Most people non Kpop fans needed 2-3 times listening to digest 'guerrilla' mv, that's why they finally found Ateez is so unique, different with their outstanding art works💟
Just noticed the speaker and “the disease is human emotion” catchphrase were already incorporated in one of their Kingdom stages, Rhythm Ta I believe? If they’ve been teasing ever since they’re absolute geniuses
okayyy atiny here, we first heard the screamo bit when the performance version came out a week before the official release and it was almost simultaneously exactly what we were expecting and something surprising at the same time. a lot of atinys are known to love edgier music outside of kpop so it fit a lot of their styles perfectly.
And after TWO WEEKS of spoilers by listening the performance version, the actual song still makes me surprised, make me in awe, shocking. It's that good.
ateez outdid themselves this comeback they got 6 wins for this album which never happened before. the album is one of the best its as powerful as guerrilla. i hope we can get a listening party this month
As a massive atiny, this song nailed it for me tho this is definitely not my type of music but legit KQ....idk what they do but I've loved everything they have given!! Legit hats off to Eden, Edenry, HJ, Mingi, etc. who worked on this song cuz my god was it just amazing!
I loved the screamo and rock elements of this song SO much. I find it sort of refreshing having such a different sound for the kpop scene in general because right now it is all sounding kinda similar. It feels like an Ateez song with some of their iconic elements but also doesn't at the same time because of how different it is from their other songs. I think their album is absolutley amazing as well, I loved the b-sides The Ring and Cyberpunk. They actually teased this comeback for well over a year now in Kingdom, with the "disease is human emotion" the blimps, and the Ateez logo.
Well as an atiny, my reaction to them having screamos in guerrilla (and even propaganda) was not only being shocked but also being proud. Proud of how creative they are and always pushing boundaries. I love and appreciate screamos and the entire album which is a great musical experience
Honestly in my opinion, the entire album just outdid all of their releases in 2021 and their album earlier this year, you really should check it out!. As an atiny i really missed their rougher and more epic sound they have had from debut until 2020, it really is their element. Though i am all for them exploring and trying new things, they really shine with their more loud and abrasive songs. So guerrilla was very warmly welcomed on my part, as someone who loves all genres (except for country) and found deja vu and fireworks kind of lacking compared to what i know they're capable of. I must say that the opening rap, the post chours and bridge, specifically San's part really scratches the right part of my brain!
I completely agree with you about all of this, especially with being underwhelmed by their last few comebacks. After that, Guerrilla feels like a total revival 🙌
@@choicelyon2131 I’m glad to know I’m not the only one! Though I did like their 2021 releases, I find that I almost never listen to them and that I honestly find them kind of forgettable compared to the rest of ateez’s discography. Which is probably because they lacked being able to give me a feeling of being in “awe” when listening to them. I’m so happy they went more back to their original sound, since it definitely paid off!!
@@peachteeaa Exactly! Those tracks were solid, but I didn't really relisten much or watch all the stages/fancams like I normally do for Ateez. But Guerrilla got me hyped again and I'm watching it all!! 🥳🥳
it's so interesting how peoples opinions differ! I really love guerilla and this album but deja vu is one of my all time favorite songs, because I love dark sensual concepts the most, and easily understood but captivating lyrics :p However watching the two album trailers and then guerilla music video is really an amazing experience.
There’s nothing I love more than an epic, powerful, bad a$$, action packed song and Ateez always brings one of these elements. However, this entire song did that. The screaming was fire and I absolutely loved this song. This is exactly what I love.
Ironically enough a lot of atinys are actually former metalheads and rock fans. Their amazing style of performance and live stages has always attracted that type of crowd. So atinys loved this comeback, the other b-side tracks also dive into punk and the album was just incredible!
This is gonna be kinda long lol. For me, Guerrilla was an instant like since I saw and heard the teaser. And when I heard the whole thing finally, I loved it even more. The song feels so powerful to me, but it's not just a loud song. It even makes me feel some strong emotions lol idk why, especially when I hear the bridge with San, jongho, yunho. Combine the amazing track with the moving lyrics and it really makes the message they're putting through the song sooo believable. You used the word cinematic for one part. Man, you gotta listen to the album. It's cinematic ost after ost after ost. Talking about some of the things you noted: Seonghwa's demon part is one of my favorite things in the mv and the performances, and you really have to give it to the guy for executing it amazingly every single every time. Hongjoong's opening is one of my fave things he has ever done ngl. Yunho center, yes I love it so much too. San is killing it as always throughout the mv. I'd like to add Mingi's part is so addictive, Woo performances for this song you gotta see, Yeosang shined so much in this album, Jongho our gem- omg his part gives me straight chills... I really loved this comeback so much. The whole album is a treasure, and I'm just so curious to see where Ateez goes after this. Good stuff makes me type a lot hehe, thanks for the video.
Check out a live stage or choreo version of this. The choreography is absolutely insane. None of the moves flow with each other and feels REALLY tense to the point it makes me feel uncomfortable almost. But it’s done so expertly you just can’t help but be impressed that they can pull it off with that much intensity
Pink Fantasy also have used screamo in their songs! But apart from them and Ateez I can't think of any other groups that have. As an Atiny I am in love with this "new" sound from Ateez (and the whole album! I really hope you have a listening party!) and how they continually are trying new things while keeping so original and still maintaining their distinctive Ateez-ness. Impeccable!
I don't understand why people don't like this song! This song is so different for "Noise " music in 4th Gen so far and brings up Ateez members unique colors and skills very well and really I been waiting for a group to make a "Noise" song with some scremo since I was a metal head before getting into kpop lol.
Ateez is not like the rest of the kpop groups, their style is different and that is why it has cost them but they are achieving it and their songs are different from the rest of the kpop groups that gives them originality and in the future they will be recognized even more because they are phenomenal talents
I thought this comeback was absolutely spectacular. And Ateez have gotten so many music show wins for this song! I'm so proud of them. For me, I was a metal fan long before I was kpop fan, and so hearing some of the screaming in this song was absolutely euphoric for me. I was so excited to see my favourite group using elements from my favourite genre of music. From what I can tell too, the reception from other atiny has been really good as well. Honestly, the whole album is so good, so I can't wait for the listening party for it!
yeah that's how guerrilla rendered me silent and shocked me! I loved how it shocked me, like its so strong and fierce but at the same time there is this soft magnificent to it!
Honestly I love this song. This whole album is amazing. Definitely their best album so far. Also they’ve won 6 times on Korea’s music shows. So they definitely did something right with this comeback
Before I got into kpop I was a big fan of rock/pop punk bands so the first time I heard this song I was so happy they made a song like this and it's not only my favorite title track but their whole mini album is my favorite release from them. They really outdid themselves with this cb
I’m just so in love with this comeback. Everything is just so tasteful and nothing is too much, and after watching and listening to it a ton it has incredible staying power. For me it is just under Inception as my favourite title track. Also the “break the wall” scream is part of the fanchant and it’s INSANE during live stages.
Ahhhh been waiting for this one! ATEEZ continues to astound me with their genre blending, hype ASF songs, coupled by the amazing visuals in this MV. Guerrilla compliments the album so well too - easily their most cohesive (and dare I say their best???) to date!
In another comment section, someone said the screaming is actually one of the producers. ATEEZ tried it, didn't get quite the sound that they wanted, so a producer did it.
No one’s gonna talk about the post scene’s instrumental BGM? It’s the beat from Halazia’s dance break 🙃🙃 Ateez, you’ve planned everything long before !!! CRAZY
I LOVED IT! this genre is really what i like, more rock, more grungy and aggressive and i really love that ateez did this because i always wanted something like this from a kpop group. Like you said kpop groups stick to one or two genre and thats it but when you have so Many possibilities and talented group is sad that there is not Much diversity in music so i really admire ateez for always go their way and do different things.
coming back here and listening about how he was wondering 'how the younger atiny would react to something new like screamo' and now knowing that guerrilla has the most win.. you can assume they LOVED IT !!!
i had the same reaction to that scene with yunho and san: the framing of yunho in the room, the way the tvs turned white on beat SO satisfyingly, san's emotion in his face as he turns to the sky.......... it was literally art
Take this with a grain of salt because I don't consume ALL Kpop content, but of what I do, Ateez is one of few male groups in the newer gens that sing this powerfully. I only really think of one company when it comes to strong male vocals, but Ateez just BRING it. I hope the continue thriving in whatever concept/sound they bring next. Great guys.
Two of my current favourite bands outside of Kpop are Electric Callboy and Bloodywood, so I'm very familiar with these harsh screaming vocals and I love it. To be fair, I was into Metal long before I discovered Kpop, so of course Guerilla is right up my alley. Also, I'm pretty sure that this isn't the location where Kim Lip, Stray Kids, Oneus and Pixy shot their videos. That one has a glass roof at the top, this here doesn't. It's probably the other one that looks similar.
My favorite title track of theirs and the one that made me start to stan Ateez was Wonderland. I usually am a fan of darker and more agressive concepts. Before getting into kpop, I had a long emo/screamo phase, followed by a jrock/visual kei phase. Guerilla, might just be my new favorite title track of theirs. It is just SO GOOD. I saw so many reactors and atinys lose their mind (myself included) when Hongjoong screamed. My favorite part though is the one that starts with San (where he reaches out to Wooyoung), followed by Jongho and Yunho toward the end of the song. THE VOCALS!!!!!! That said, my favorite b-side track of theirs was Take Me Home. I said was, because as soon as I heard the preview for Cyberpunk, I knew it was going to be my favorite and I was right. It owns my soul. I wish you could react to it on your channel, but I know you keep album listens on Patreon so I might just join to find out what you thought of it. Honestly, this album is in my opinion, the best they have released so far. All the songs are so good. I am so so proud of them.
PD, there is also a visual reference to a very old German movie called Metropolis. Look up some pictures and posters of it and you'll see it immediately. The plot is kinda in the same tone as our lore here - dystopian future, lower classes want to rebel, etc. I mention it because it's very old so not a lot of people know it, but it's worth knowing how many things there are to look for in this MV.
Yeah this song was one that has to grow in me because of the screamo, first time hearing it i thought it was to loud for me, but today i just want to be at one of their concerts screaming “breake the wall!!!!!”
Seriously, BIG kudos to ATEEZ, and their Creative and Production Teams. This album, the whole body of work they released for this comeback is legendary, iconic, revolutionary. The entire album as a whole, feels to me, like righteous revenge, reclamation, redemption, retribution, and revolutionary rage. Like, "Holy Wrath". I can't choose a favorite song from this album, it's a whole no-skip masterpiece. For me, this entire album's lyrics, vocal text painting, music production, storytelling, visuals, art design, soundscape, choreography, styling, and concept as a whole body of work is so epically encompassing, liberating, cathartic, cinematic, complex, and surprisingly progressive yet also thought-provokingly familiar, with so much substance and nuanced layers to unpack. This release is a true well thought out Art piece that wholly conveys objective meaning AND subjective interpretation; it's truly a wall-breaking, ground-breaking, record-breaking genius body of work, a gift that keeps on giving. It's innovative cohesively chaotic genius, one of the best albums I've heard in years. I find it amazing that the whole rebellious mavericks theme of ATEEZ as a group and for this comeback even bleeds into how the intention of producing each song for this album defies the very logic of song structure and music theory. Truly breaking status quo, pushing past limits of what is expected, and reinventing things anew. And I think it's fascinating how the album is meant to be a whole listening experience journey, mirroring the complex unpredictability and extremity of human nature and the expansive human experience itself beginning to end full circle in cycles. I love how everything was carefully curated yet also intuitively conveyed. I also love how each track is mechanically "cerebral" sounding, grand/ bold, odd, liminal, ambiguous, sophisticated, bright/ flashy, industrial, experimental/ new/ fresh, musically technical "sensory overload", nonconforming, and individualistic "noise music", yet also passionately raw and emotionally soulful, down to earth, comprehensible, directional, concise, gritty, dark, primal, primordial, emotionally moving, anthemic, infectious, and unifying; in short, "cool" yet still relatable. Each song feels like a shocking awakening turned into a life- altering epiphany turned into the instinctual determined call for movement, change, and action with a "the light at the end of the dark tunnel" feeling, the human psyche going through cognitive dissonance and clarity, stagnation and progression, death and rebirth, destruction and recreation; as if every major moment of upheaval that every human experiences at least once in their life was encapsulated and translated into music. All of the songs in ATEEZ' The World Ep. 1: Movement sound "movie score" worthy. I could totally imagine these as BGM and OSTs for a dystopian cyberpunk movie with a lot of bleak, dark, gritty/gnarly scenes and niche obscured "underground" scenes/ societies. It's as if every extreme life - changing moment in the human psyche and experience when pushed past limits with all its grueling grave lows and glorious great highs and every complex extreme deep emotion in between, were all turned into songs, songs that come "full circle" as calls for "beginnings" and proclamations of "ends" of cycles, birth & death, revelation & revolution, stagnation & evolution, ambition & resignation, expression, repression, suppression, depression, immersion, liberation.. All encapsulated into an album. It all feels distinct yet also ambiguous, tangible yet also diaphanous, like a cliffhanger full of potential possibilities and "open doors". The soundscape of this album paints a picture of how humans only truly reach their biggest potential when pushed past their limits. I also find it cool how album is aptly named The World: Movement and how it correlates with my perception of it; how each track & the entirety of the album feels all encompassing like it all comes into "full circle"(literally & figuratively like the Earth/ World) in many ways, how the album, the name, and everything else fits the story/ explanation behind their new Möbius loop logo.. And also with the movement name, the album gives me a sense of dynamic movement too in many different ways. Movement, in the sense of unified action for a cause, moving forward, getting up and taking action, changing perceptions and perspectives through exploring other schools of thought, and movement in the sense of viewing this album like how one would view the movements and stories in a classical music piece. The World: Movement is such a fitting name for this. Their whole body of work this era with the album, the MV, the visual concepts, the promotion strategies, and the performances, truly is a whole package embodying Art and the essence of true revolutionary Artists; bringing about the electrifying winds of change and reform, creative expression and expansion, disruption for a cause, evocation and provocation of profound meaning, emotion and movement. If I were to sum up all of their past work, I'd say that so far, this era/album is their greatest work, their Magnum Opus. Truly a Marvel in time, they truly cemented their status as Mavericks in the industry with this. I think only their next future releases can possibly top this for me. I love the musical direction and approach they took for the production of this album. I feel like the "messy" all over the place structure of Guerrilla and the rest of the songs in the album was intentionally done to fit the theme/ narrative and to shake things up and add shock value, adhering to their concept for this era along with the objective to "make noise" to make noise and be heard. What I mean by this is that, the songs sound metallic, mechanical, gritty, gnarly, raw, primal, unpredictable, heavy, dark, moody, uncomfortable, jarring, aggressive, chaotic, erratic, and like there's so much going on, because they mirror and paint the context of what happens in an uprising revolution; the effects of worlds destroyed to be rebuilt again and all its trials and tribulations on the human psyche, of beginnings and ends of cycles in full circle, of losses and gains, of the storm and chaos in the physical/ tangible/ material world and also in the internal/ psychological/ emotional worlds of the people involved in the upheaval of the industrial dystopian world, and how the human nature processes it all as individuals and as a society; the way this was done, seems to convey how the human nature experiences the impact of jarring change and disruption, along with the most extreme of uninhibited ferocious emotions from the grave grueling lows and great glorious highs people feel when pushed past their limits. I find it interesting how the songs feel like open ended cliffhangers too. Because other than this album being a start of a movement in parts from the lore, it may also be because it implies for us to derive conclusions on our own about where/ how it should go from here, and also maybe because the context/ purpose of this album relating to it's target audience, is to leave potential possibilities and "open doors" in the mind for people to mull over, just like how in real life, major life upheavals leave us with open options/ endings and potential possibilities to choose from. When humans are pushed past their limits by an upheaval leading to a "clear blank slate"/ new world, a new potential for possibilities & decisions in life is paved, & you can choose to either let that experience break you or mold you, to either wither from it or to grow from it. ..I feel like this aspect in human nature, relates greatly with the way the songs and album were produced and influences how the prod team intended for us to perceive the songs/ album. Because even though we're not time-traveling space renegade pirates, we all have/had moments of realization, reckless abandon, rebellion, revolting, fear, hope, despair, desolation, camaraderie, unity, fury, outrage, vigor, valor, ambition, anticipation, desperation, determination, resignation, suppression, repression, oppression, depression, deception, expression, liberation, elation, gain, loss, resentment, disappointment, listlessness, emptiness, numbness, injustice, etc and such profound momentous experiences of the human existence as a collective, is artfully conveyed, interpreted, & filtered through ATEEZ' cinematic portrayal. This is why I love Ateez' music, they are and they give gifts that keep on giving. Through a whimsical theatrical artistic lens, they touch upon the driving forces behind the pulse of humanity. Life imitates Art, that's consistently true with ATEEZ. Like how they have always done, they explored the inner workings of the human mind and the intricacies of the human experience and youth in this album too. But compared to their other eras, the chapter of The World Ep. 1: Movement is raw & gritty, stripped of naïvety and whimsy. The jaded dreamer/ tortured artist/ / scorned survivalist/ daredevil hero/warrior mindset of renegade anarchist rebel pirate musicians in a underground resistance was tastefully portrayed IMO. The whole album really gives off a "Do or Die. All or Nothing. We have nothing to lose. No fear. This is worth living/dying for." feeling to me. When I say this album changed me, I'm not kidding. Listening to it for the first time felt like a life-altering experience, as if I "shifted" to another perception of "reality". I was reborn, I grew, it changed me on a molecular level, it changed the trajectory of my life, I evolved, I was never the same again after this.
When I heard the song at first, I couldn't pinpoint on how to feel about it. This song is so different yet so familiar, the way they infused kpop and rock together along with screamo put me in a trance that I finally snapped out after rewatching it for like 3 times. I love how different it is, how shocking it is and how powerful it is. I feel like this will give an absolute impact for the new generation of kpop. They presented something new and creative that makes me feel how aware they were about their fan demographics. They are more famous among international fans and they took advantage of that, thus infusing different genres and it is such a nice fan service for us. I understand if some people don't really like screamo but this will definitely be an eye opener and interest starter towards the genre, especially among koreans. So everytime I watch their performance for the past 2 weeks, I'd go "Ahh..as expected of Ateez. They fully deserved the 8 wins."
guerrilla easily became one of my favorite titles from ateez . it's INSANE! i can't describe how i felt especially when hongjoong did the screamo ,and was waiting for your reaction to it! they really did it for the emos lol the album is a masterpiece and they really makes us feel the ' movement ' they want to do.
as someone who's part of the "younger audience" you were talking about, i LOVED guerrilla, a lot more than i thought i would honestly, and the screamo part in the dance break is actually one of my favorite parts of the song 😭i agree that it's 100% not a genre i've really seen in kpop before, but ateez really made it their own and pulled it off so well. and 6 wins this comeback?!? i'm so so proud of them, and i can't wait to see how much they'll grow (both musically and otherwise) in the future ❤
I never really got into Ateez before, saw them on Kingdom and liked them but just never connected with any of their title tracks enough to dive into bsides but this song.... wow. I am obsessed! So much that I will need to do a deep dive into Ateez like ASAP.
I've got some names I truly stan including Ateez, and casual listener of a bunch of groups. Each groups has their own respective colors and sounds, but fr, Guerilla is a song only Ateez could pull of. I cant even imagine my other faves release a track like this, so while I adore all of their sound, Guerilla is just something different
ooh this mv was digipedi work :)) the screamo took everyone by surprise, for me it was like i was going back to years ago when i used to listen to a lot of hardcore rock (influenced by my brothers) so it was hitting the right spot, Jongho's part "we are oh" also got me shocked af and the "break the wall" (which became part of the fanchant) omfg i cant express well enough how i felt when i heard for the first time but i was/am so happy that they incopored in this song (also the bsides.... i can say that's one of the best ateez albuns for sure)
I've been an atiny since say my name era, been watching the teaser previews for every cb, and ateez seriously never dissapoint. I've always been a fan of screamo and hip-hop, so those genres being paired together in guerrilla had me falling outtttt. I had to force myself to put down my phone after I played the preview for the 5th time, I fr felt like I was floating with jongho's vocals in the chorus. I'm so happy they're touching on different genres. like you said, guerrilla isn't formatted like a traditional kpop song, I mean they're straight up yelling at you for the chorus. and yet it still has the ateez vibe. when you listen to guerrilla, you KNOW it's and ateez track, even with all the experimentation. ateez are definitely going places.
This was their most powerful comeback so far I think. I feel like the cinematic feel went even further than the Real, and I love both songs. I think what I appreciate about this comeback, is that the ENTIRE album is a manifesto and a call to arms. It doesn’t feel like just a compilation of songs, but truly a movement as the album title suggests. Also- i don’t know how anyone could watch this and NOT start screaming Break the wall at the end with them. The end is truly insane.
THE LORE!! atz has had a storyline since debut, and they’ve carried it through EVERY comeback/album, plus KINGDOM (the speaking intro of the mv is the intro from their Rhythm Ta stage, plus every stage being a reference to their story/lore) NOT TO MENTION even their Universe Don’t Stop single had elements of their story. This is their biggest era/comeback yet, and not just in terms of all their personal records (BB, music show, charting) but in their lore as well
yo pd if u listen to the fan chat i feel like alot of atinys LOVE THE SCREAMO just cause the break the walls parts everyone is screaming on top of their lungs !!!!!
Jongho's part always give me goosebumps it's so amazing ,, same with the screamo ?!! I was so fucking surprised and it just hit all genres i listen to in one song.
I love the fact that with Ateez maintracks more is more, is so powerful and I didn't know i needed it 🔥 but then I heard the rest of the album and Cyberpunk killed me even more than Guerilla
This comeback got them so many wins it's amazing!! Ateez never miss and I'm just living for it. I can't even begin to explain what makes their music so special but it's incredible how they can be so versatile (even just in the title tracks) yet always sound like themselves.
this what makes ateez different from other groups, like who would expect the ones who made wave/inception are the same ones who made guerrilla/wonderland. they never stick to one sound.
There are several references in the vid to the film Metropolis which is a 1927 German expressionist science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang, and written by Thea von Harbou in collaboration with Lang from von Harbou's 1925 novel of the same name. Intentionally written as a treatment, it stars Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel, Rudolf Klein-Rogge, and Brigitte Helm. The first spoken lines come from a dystopian novel which Ateez has repeated ever since Rhythm Ta. In a recent VLive they mentioned that they had recorded (most?) this vid before their US tour in January. What they could NOT have predicted was the announcement by BTS that they were shifting their focus to their solo work to some extent. Thus creating a space for someone else to step up as a group. Who that will be isn't entirely clear yet, but this come back is an announcement that they are in the running for top 4th gen. And so much more. Time will tell. I wasn't quite ready for this when it first dropped. I think I was expecting a calmer, quieter, Ateez. I'm so glad that isn't what we got. Let's see if they'll: Make A Move.
I wasn’t an atiny like two weeks ago, but when I watched the second teaser with that cyberpunk vibes and the SCREAMO I was impressed and definitely wanted more. IT GOES SO HARD from the beginning to ending. WOW. I dont know if im more impressed by their music, their choreo or their music video… Also, who actually laughed at the beginning? In the performances looks like is Yeosang but in the mv is Hoonjong
I have a feeling that performance on kingdom with the blimp (where hongjoong goes like "open your eyes etc... Giving a speech and all) was foreshadowing for this comeback!!! ATEEZ are the masters of storytelling and amazing plotline \(ToT)/ and their videos' quality (although it's never a priority to me as long as thr music's good) are top notch! Those boys are killing it, they're gonna take the industry by storm
there's no way i watched this whole almost 33 minutes video of you reacting to ATEEZ's Guerrilla because of the fact that i'm also addicted to this music and mv that i want to learn and hear others view of it and get educated thoroughly lol, i mean it's ATEEZ ugh
I don't know how they do it. I always expect a lot from ateez comebacks, but everytime they find a way to surprise me even more. This MV is everything I never knew I needed from them :_)
Honestly, I’ve really enjoyed almost all of ATEEZ’s songs, but something about this album as a whole has me. It’s a concept album that feels like a progression from beginning to end of a fully thought out story and I’m here for that! This MV just makes us all wish they would shoot an entire album video to show the full story. 👏🏻 Here’s to the continued progress of ATEEZ and KQ team!
jongho‘s part always makes me ascend into heaven

Thissss!!! I couldn't have said it better.

You mean we became a god during his part? Ye

Also only 4th gen boy group to win 6 awards in 2022
Six allready so I missed one😅😎👍🏼🖤
And double crown for inkigayo hot stage
THIS THIS THIS!!!
I love to see more emo/screamo/rock influence in kpop 🤘🏻 💕
yuupp, they already said they don’t care and will continue making music they want
I'm super in love with this sound and really hope Ateez keeps it (forever tbh, but since that's not realistic at least for a while!)

tbh jongho shined so much this album his voice man so amazing and unique
Dreamcatcher does the same and I hope more groups continue to throw that genre and message into their discography for years to come.

its a ongoing joke that ateez didn't make a challenge out of this song because nobody can do this choreo BESIDES ateez lol
one of the members of Craxy did the chorus (by herself) and did such a good job!! It's a shame it wasn't an official challenge :')
EDIT: Jordan Orme’s video dissecting this MV explains the fish eye lens thing as well as other cool effects used
They really did not hint at this. It's literally just a reference to a previous concept.
That speech was also from the movie Equilibrium that they are mainly inspired PD! :D
@@horizon3064 of course they did - they used the Rhythm Ta stage to start establishing the worldbuilding, it shows Halateez breaking into a vault with banned art to get the Cromer that HalaHongjoong would eventually give to Hongjoong in the Diary Film.

it was only during the bridge that i really started to get chills and realized "holy shit, this TRULY does sound like a rock song". in my 12 years of being a kpop fan, i don't think there's a song out there that sounds and could make me feel a similar type of way to how 'guerilla' does. this comeback is just inspiring in terms of overall concept, message, and artistry. ateez has it all tbh; intention, direction, undeniable passion for what they do, and awareness of how powerful art is (specifically in how THEY can influence their fans and just people in general with THEIR music). i value it so much, their purpose and their passion. god, i truly do wonder why can't other kpop groups make me feel the same way as i do with them?

I love Cyberpunk but New World became my favorite as I listened to the album.

I’m so happy they went more back to their original sound, since it definitely paid off!!

i LOVE screamo so as an atiny i literally died and was brought back to life with this comeback.
There’s nothing I love more than an epic, powerful, bad a$$, action packed song and Ateez always brings one of these elements. However, this entire song did that. The screaming was fire and I absolutely loved this song. This is exactly what I love.
not only is it an amazing song and mv, but in the context of the album it’s even better. absolutely in my top 3 albums of the year at LEAST
This song was a complete shock but also everything I could have ever asked for from Ateez 😭
Talking about some of the things you noted:
Seonghwa's demon part is one of my favorite things in the mv and the performances, and you really have to give it to the guy for executing it amazingly every single every time.
Very interested on how they would progress, because that spoiler part is so catchy and make your heart move!
i really love how the rap line got longer verses
and yeah!! the post chorus is so damn epic and addictive
Impeccable!
Absolutely loved when they used screams in "Poison". If Dreamcatcher ever does something like that I-
Exo did it with mama! Also tvxq with triangle, but yeah it's rarely used in the industry, I loved it!

Hearing k-Atinys screaming 'break the wall' at music shows literally blew my mind - they were awesome. I can't wait to do it myself at their concert.
CRAZY

Finally a person who notices and praises Yunho's talent...you are the crown jewel 🧡👑
I loved it, everything about it. The songs the concept, the styling. Everything. It's their best comeback
i had the same reaction to that scene with yunho and san: the framing of yunho in the room, the way the tvs turned white on beat SO satisfyingly, san's emotion in his face as he turns to the sky.......... it was literally art
Bloodywood is awesome!
Guerrilla did remind me of Bloodywood! Both the groups are awesome!
honestly this is my most favorite ateez album to date. The production value and cohesiveness is incredible
Because even though we're not time-traveling space renegade pirates, we all have/had moments of
realization, reckless abandon, rebellion, revolting, fear, hope, despair, desolation, camaraderie, unity, fury, outrage, vigor, valor, ambition, anticipation, desperation, determination, resignation, suppression, repression, oppression, depression, deception, expression, liberation, elation, gain, loss, resentment, disappointment, listlessness, emptiness, numbness, injustice, etc and such profound momentous experiences of the human existence as a collective, is artfully conveyed, interpreted, & filtered through ATEEZ' cinematic portrayal.
The jaded dreamer/ tortured artist/
/ scorned survivalist/ daredevil hero/warrior mindset of renegade anarchist rebel pirate musicians in a underground resistance was tastefully portrayed IMO. The whole album really gives off a
"Do or Die.
They fully deserved the 8 wins."
as an atiny, i really freak out listening to this song, it's such a new type of music on ateez discography, this new era is going to be wild!
Honestly many atinys have been asking for a rock concert for a long time and they really delivered!
guerrilla easily became one of my favorite titles from ateez . it's INSANE! i can't describe how i felt especially when hongjoong did the screamo ,and was waiting for your reaction to it! they really did it for the emos lol the album is a masterpiece and they really makes us feel the ' movement ' they want to do.
as someone who's part of the "younger audience" you were talking about, i LOVED guerrilla, a lot more than i thought i would honestly, and the screamo part in the dance break is actually one of my favorite parts of the song 😭i agree that it's 100% not a genre i've really seen in kpop before, but ateez really made it their own and pulled it off so well. and 6 wins this comeback?!? i'm so so proud of them, and i can't wait to see how much they'll grow (both musically and otherwise) in the future ❤
"Guerilla" is literally the most perfect introduction to a new era I've ever seen. Also regarding the literal trailers they released.
ooh this mv was digipedi work :))
the screamo took everyone by surprise, for me it was like i was going back to years ago when i used to listen to a lot of hardcore rock (influenced by my brothers) so it was hitting the right spot, Jongho's part "we are oh" also got me shocked af and the "break the wall" (which became part of the fanchant) omfg i cant express well enough how i felt when i heard for the first time but i was/am so happy that they incopored in this song (also the bsides.... i can say that's one of the best ateez albuns for sure)
This comeback is so amazing, the energy they bring to everything they do!!!
This is their biggest era/comeback yet, and not just in terms of all their personal records (BB, music show, charting) but in their lore as well
they’re just on a whole new level and they keep rising the standard
yo pd if u listen to the fan chat i feel like alot of atinys LOVE THE SCREAMO just cause the break the walls parts everyone is screaming on top of their lungs !!!!!
as a big fan of “heavier” music, ateez gave me smth that i never knew i needed in kpop
Jongho's part always give me goosebumps it's so amazing ,, same with the screamo ?!! I was so fucking surprised and it just hit all genres i listen to in one song.
ATEEZ energy is so powerful, love the song too.
This is why kpop is great. You have multiple genres integrated into one song, it’s incredible.
this what makes ateez different from other groups, like who would expect the ones who made wave/inception are the same ones who made guerrilla/wonderland. they never stick to one sound.
We just witnessed the best boy group MV of the year.
HE SAID EVERYTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED AND APPRECIATED. IM IN AWE AND CHILLS 😭
Growing up in my teens listening to post-hardcore music, this comeback was right up my alley!
WOW. I dont know if im more impressed by their music, their choreo or their music video…
Also, who actually laughed at the beginning? In the performances looks like is Yeosang but in the mv is Hoonjong
It’s always hongjoong ☺️ it’s kinda his signature before he starts rapping if you listen to their other songs you will notice it :)
I have a feeling that performance on kingdom with the blimp (where hongjoong goes like "open your eyes etc... Giving a speech and all) was foreshadowing for this comeback!!! ATEEZ are the masters of storytelling and amazing plotline
\(ToT)/ and their videos' quality (although it's never a priority to me as long as thr music's good) are top notch!
Chills absolute chills! They're so impressive. ATEEZ only gets better and better!!!!🤘💛 thanks for the reaction PD!
Here’s to the continued progress of ATEEZ and KQ team!
