I had my first ever comprehensive eye exam ever about 2 weeks ago. No cataracts, but apparently I had some dysfunction, possible clogging of my Meibomian glands. I was prescribed Lotemax to use for about 6 weeks total and was also told to use an eye compress and otc eye drops for the dryness.

For what it's worth, go pure Carnivore diet. If interested there are numerous Drs. on TH-cam recommending it such as Dr. Ken Berry. Does away with a whole list of problems.

Thank you for your video. I’m 77 with T2 diabetes but it’s considered “well managed”. I quit smoking 26 years ago. I also have high blood pressure but have have been somewhat successful in getting it down to a reasonable if not ideal level. My ophthalmologist says I don’t need cataract surgery at this time. I enjoyed your presentation of the information as you don’t rush through it. You have a calming demeanor and I wish you could do the surgery if and when it becomes necessary! I subscribed and look forward to seeing more.

I had cataract surgery just before I turned 60. I always, wore sunshades as my eyes were sensitive to the sun. I have none of the problems you, spoke so and my parents didn’t have cataracts. The Dr who did my surgery put a lens in that if I don’t have my contacts in I can read without reading glasses. No one asked me any questions concerning this but I am so glad it was done this way. Thanks

Thank you for this information, it helps. I saw my Opthalmologist yesterday, she told me I'm starting to get cataract but 5 or 6 months ago she told me everything was fine, no cataract, no glaucoma. Now all of a sudden I have a little tiny cataract, I've been taking Preservation Ared vitamins, fish oil, Centrum multivitamins (not everyday only if can remember to take them. I started to eat broccoli again, spinach, sometimes avocado. I will follow your advice. I'm hoping it doesn't get worse. I'm now 72. Last time I watch your video, you said Systane Ultra eye drops is good for dry eyes, so I went and bought it. Now that my eye doc said I have a little cataract, what eyedrops is good that will slow it down or reverse it. Thanks.

My doctor from the Philippines told me I have cataract when I went to her clinic for my allergy check up. I didn’t mind because I felt ok. I got vision examination when I applied for Driver’s license that made me disqualified not to have DL because I did not pass my vision test. I went to the optometrist, he told me I have cataract both eyes. Due to this problem my husband told me to accompany me to go to optalmologist for check up. Thank you for sharing those things that are good for the eyes to prevent cataract.

I had cataracts surgery at age 60, unfortunately the surgeon fitted reading lens only instead of reading and long distance, I also have hypertension under control by medication.I have never smoked or drank alcohol.
However, approximately 8 months after my operation my vision went from clear to having a double shadow over everything I looked at. I hesitate to have another double operation.
Thank you for a great video.

@Run Everyday good Evening from Western Australia's Southwest.
My surgery for cataracts was performed in hospital as "same day surgery" outpatient, one eye at a time and 4 weeks apart. On both surgeries, there were 35 - 40 people having the same procedure.
I am not sure what the RX readings were..
However, several weeks after surgery I visited the surgeon's practice for eye tests and was giving paperwork stating what my eyesight was as follows:- Intraocular lens used: Monofocal-RE, Toric Monofocal-LE.
Unaided vision RE =6/6-2, LE =6/7.5-1.
      IOP: RE = 16, LE = 18.
      REFRACTION: RE =, -0.25/-0.50×165
      LE=, -0.25/-0.50×150.
When I wear glasses to read paper I need to adjust distance to get clear vision and upon taking off glasses, everything is blurry for 5 to 10 minutes.
Driving is proving a challenge especially at night, glare is an issue.
I really wanted lens implants for reading and long distance but surgeon placed the above single lens.
Not sure if I need further surgery or new glasses, looking at computer screen I need to be a certain distance from screen to see clearly.
The issue I have is that I live in a rural area and need to travel appropriately one hour each way to see eye surgeon.
What would be your expert recommendation as to procede fro here.
Thank you kindly in advance for your assistance. Make your day a great one.

I was scheduled for surgery to replace the cataract damaged lenses in both eyes. With my wife, I changed to eating a plant based diet, recommended by my DO. After a month, the osteo arthritis pain I suffered in my toes, plantar, heels, ankles, knees, elbows, wrists and fingers (each confirmed by xray images) disappeared. Almost a year after going plant based diet, my cataracts cleared in both eyes. I phoned the optometrist and requested a new vision test before my scheduled cataract surgery. She agreed. After the new exam, she cancelled the cataract surgery for my eyes! - It was a big step to give up all meat, dairy, processed foods, oils, etc. But, the rewards to me far exceed the compromises. (Age 74!)

68 years old, and dunno if I have ever had a full eye exam. Last time I went to a doctor was to get a medical certificate to renew my driving licence, over two years ago. Have seldom been to a doctor other than to get a medical certificate for some reason or another. Have worn eyeglasses with photochromic lenses to correct short sight since I was young. My mother had cataracts removed when she was in her mid 80s.

Dr. Audrey Tai, I was diagnosed with cataract in 2014 and gluacoma in 2020 and aavised for surgery to remove the cataract but I declined as I am 86 years old. Dr. Tai how long does it takes for a patient to go blind? Does it depends on the pressure level of a cataract eye or gluacoma eye? Meanwhile I exercise daily, eat eye foods and eye supplement. I am not a diabetic or suffering high blood pressure, nor any other underlying medical conditions.

Thanks Dr. Tai! Ive been taking prednisolone acetate suspension eye drops for my eyes. It certainly did help when I took these eyedrops, but after two-three weeks, I think I'll cut them out temporarily or for long term, depending on when my eye pain comes back. Dr. Ming Wang did warn me about this specific med, not to take too long, or else it might cause ill effect to my right eye (increased eyeball pressure). Great to have two opinions about the same med.

So if corticosteroids are a synthetic copy of cortisol then wouldn't high levels of cortisol from excess stress do the same as the corticosteroid?

I would like this ophthalmologist treat my cataract. I do not know where she practices. It is difficult to find a ophthalmologist who is genuinely interested in her patients

Thank you doctor. I hope someday that my country will have skilled medical doctors. Here in Laos, we are very poor and less fortunate than other countries. We don't even have obstetricians. That's why maternal death rate is so high here in Laos.

Castor oil as a lubricant we have found can also dissolve cataracts as a friend of mine testified. I have also used it and my vision became very clear. We do a drop at night every so often to prevent cataracts and dry eyes. Has anyone else tried this?

@@chanson3016 yes we use 1-2 drops in the eye at night before bed…usually one eye per night and we do this every couple of weeks.

Potential Hazards of Castor Oilcontact solution
Check with your medical professional before using castor oil for your eyes, as it can have some risks and side effects. It is not ideal for everyone.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recommends talking to your ophthalmologist about what to use for your specific condition, as there is often a better option than castor oil.
Do not use castor oil if you:
Are wearing or putting in contacts soon.
Have recently had a surgical procedure.
      Are allergic to it.
      Have a serious eye condition.
Use other eye drops or ointments.
The most common side effects of using castor oil eye drops are blurry vision, itching, and swelling. Blurry vision often clears up after a little bit of time as the castor oil dissipates. If you experience irritation or further issues like dizziness, nausea, or trouble breathing, you should stop using castor oil immediately.
Using Castor Oil Safely on Your Eyes
If you use castor oil for eyes, be sure to choose artificial tear or eye drop products made for eyes that contain castor oil and not non-sterile castor oil by itself.
If applying castor oil topically, be sure to wash your hands before application and gently massage the oil around your eyes.
Remember to talk to your eyecare provider before using castor oil to make sure it is the best option for your eye health.

Interesting video, thanks. I have a big cataract in my left eye. I have been using drops (N Acetyl Carnosine) on it for over two years and I think it is getting smaller and more transparent. My optician says this cannot be because the drops cannot reach the cataract. What do you think of these drops? Am I imagining the improvement?

I m not her but I believe in these drops. Also try Lanomax. Pass both with 2 hours of difference, they are different substances.
