You seem to know your way around these types of boats....
What do you consider the pros and cons of inline shaft vs outboard on similar sized boats as yours?
How would you rate your boat against NB Marine 820 (which I am considering - also inline shaft), or Jeanneu 795 , or a similar sized Beneteau outboards (if you know these boats) Pros and cons?
....thinking about getting a boat that will do well as a leisure boat as well as fishing.....
PS - nice thick Danish accent you have there..... ;o))))

I have owned both straight shaft , outboard and Z drive boats. Personally, i would choose the outboard and straight shaft over Z drives anyday. Due to design simplicity and service ease.
If the boat is over 8 meters i would choose a model with a Diesel engine and straight shaft , if I can't get that, I can live witha model with 2 petrol outboards in counterrotating configuration.
The NB marine 820 is a solid quality boat , i actually personally know the only one currently for sale in Denmark as it previously was located in my marina. The parts are the same used in Viknes boats and both sail in a very similar way. It is a landrover if a boat and the only negative thing i can say about NB 820 is that the cockpit/cabin could have been larger and the deck space smaller. This is not really a negative thing per se for some people but however just my personal taste .
Jeanneau , Beneteau and Ocquteau are very similar and share many parts which is not surprising as they are all French boats. These 3 models have thier budget series and their more quality versions too. Most of the models over 7 meters are quite solid and from what I can see the 795 is a good design and I don't think you would regret it. Do however note that the NB820 is a displacement boat while the Jeanneau 795 is a planing boat so it also depends on what you really prefer. Regards

Thank you. Fuel economy is as follows:slow 6 knots-1100rpm-0.5lit per nautical mile. Cruise 18kts-3200rpm-1.8lit per nautical mile. Top speed 24knts-3600rpm-2.2lit per nautical mile. Idle speed is 4knots but I have installed a trolling valve on the gearbox so using it I can come down to 1.5knots.

I like your boat. It's very similar to the Jeanneau 805 Merry Fisher I'm interested in. What sort of range and performance do you get from this engine as I have seen the Merry Fisher with both Volvo Penta and the Nanni engine both on straight shafts. Which is better?

I have a 200 lit tank, so at cruise speed of 18 knts i use 1.8 lit per nauticalmile ,or 32 lit/hr hence a range of about 110 nautical miles at that speed. On the other hand, If i putter along gently at 6 knts ,i use just 0.5 liters per nautical mile and have a range of 500 nautical miles.
The nanni engine is a Toyota landcruiser hence easy for me to service and buy parts.
