*_My VST041 from Amazon arrived today !_* 🧐 _Exactly the same as your one._ { Sept 2018} Looks very sleek, and the type that doesn't show finger-prints. Not overly heavy, but its built sturdily. So I can't wait to make the usual cheese toasties, and I also want to experiment with different fillings. I'm disabled + housebound, so this is sort of like a new little project, and may even help me eat better. Before I use it I thought I do TH-cam / Google searches for any tips and advice . I've learnt from the instruction book, crusts point outward, leave 2cm gap around filling, and butter on the outside of bread. *_I'm wondering if many people actually cut their crusts off ?_* *_And does anyone have any extra tips / advice ?_*
Good video ;) I'm wondering weather it can cook raw Bacon rashers so to then make bacon toastie ? Also could it cook oven chips ? I usually use a very basic Toaster with Toaster bags
So far it's fine, I must have used it 30 times with no problems.I am careful with the handle, I press it closed with both hands on each side of the handle. PS only used medium sliced bread.
Nonsensical Child Thanks for taking the time to reply. Brilliant, glad your getting on well with it, I bought one today from Argos as they had them on offer at a good price. Thanks for the heads up on the handle, will heed your advice when using mine. Thanks also for the heads up bread thickness also, have you tried warburtons medium, the one in the blue waxy paper bag? I always find their slices quite big in size and the plates in the toaster look quite small? Once again, thanks for the reply!
Mine came with the waffle plates and if I remember correctly the instructions recommended spreading butter on both sides of each slice. Just had a ham and Branston toasty, loverly juberly lol
No better place to open new electronic appliances next to a sink full of water 😂

Good tips. Emmm dried cranberries. I'm about to invest in this. I take it the handles are still fine?
Still fine :) cranberries were the sweetened type it goes well with brie or try a few grapes .

Bacon being quite thin should be ok,chips might be pushing it a bit.
Is it still working after 5 years?
Yes but I dont use it very often.
Great Video! How is your machine and the handle holding out? I’m thinking of buying one. Thanks

Warburtons medium is one of my favorites, and Hovis granary medium.

I got mine from sainsbury's for £16.00 today.
The top plate won't click back into place after washing it. Maybe I'll call breville and ask them.
