For those that didn't watch the game live. There was a high sticking penalty called on Edmonton with 2 minutes left in the 3rd period where on the replay it was actually the Winnipeg player high sticking his own teammate.. but it wasn't reviewable since it was just a minor penalty. Almost cost them the game. The hilarious part is the ref that called the penalty was standing right beside them.
not to mention the clear trip on ehlers, that went uncalled, then not even 10 seconds later a high stick on nurse which of course led to a Edmonton goal... Refs must've been wearing blindfolds or something
Lemme tell ya when I saw that I just couldn't watch anymore, had to just get up and walk away haha. I would've been fuming if the Jets scored on that PP.
@@beaverchicken there was also several none call for the oilers in the first period alone that were were not called. and the Ehlers one was not a trip, watch the replay
@@beaverchickenmissed the most obvious hold at the very start of OT on McDavid. Refs had a bad game, was it a mistake on the high stick? Yes, it was non reviewable so it was prolly a mistake. Idk what happened in the talk after the fact tho. Not the right call but sometimes there’s weird rules to reffing in hockey

Actually, the League has pretty clear accountability rules for referees and review procedures - you just don’t know about them, or don’t have the energy to look them up - so, to you it seems like there isn’t any accountability. But that’s just your opinion, and the world would be a better place if you got passed it ;-)
@@franklindtiger they have accountability in place, sure, but no one outside of the NHL is allowed to know about it. You have never and will never hear about any issue with referees, at least currently.
Four-game losing streak this late in the season needs to be corrected. At least they got a point. But, I can't even be mad that Zach Hyman got the GWG.

@@dragoniv Drai actually was an overpay based on performance (he should have gotten Pasta money). Hyman was actually at market rates. Drai just overperformed on a historic level. Doesn't mean that a better GM shouldn't have gotten him for 1~1.5M less.

What a shocker, as the hilariously grotesque terrible call to put WPG on the PP for the last 2 minutes of the game, is just utterly ignored in these highlights.
Nhl hides it's mistakes and glorifies its successes. Refs should have to answer for their behavior in press conferences. The amount of explaining they'd need to for just one game would be enough for them to tighten up. Once you start talking and defending terrible actions, even the people speaking it start to realize how ridiculous they are.
Can someone explain the Perry -> Brown stick handoff right before brown scores? What’s going on there?

Blew a 3-1 lead for the second straight game but able to get the win this time, even though it took OT to do it. At least we weren't Vegas, who had a 3-0 lead after 1 period and a 4-1 lead after 2 against Nashville, and lost in OT. We pull another point ahead of Vegas, Nashville pulls 1 point closer to Winnipeg.
