Enjoyed your video, so I hit that subscribe button. I'm retired after 47 years in trucking, and you're right about those 2 lane country roads!
Thank you for that. Congrats on the retirement and all those years!
Great info. Your vids are best content for KLLM info.
Thank you. That is the vision I had when I started as well. Try to be informative while vlogging the journey.
Good information. I’m definitely considering it more than I was before
@@deathx1030 great meeting you too. Not awkward at all. I know you all get star struck. Bawhaaaaa 😂
@@stevesliff well I hope I see you again in the near future and I might stay over the road if There’s not a good local position for me to get after a year. But I do like pay, and the lifestyle of it is fun sometimes
Nice to see you getting ample miles!
Yeah. Not going to complain. At least they are slowing getting better.
Hackettstown nj. Back in the day lol. I used to work for the company with the bulk tanker that’s there. H.R Ewell. Run 3 loads of sugar a day out of Brooklyn. Fun times. 😗. Keep up the good work with your videos. Totally enjoy them
Beautiful area. Little hard to get to with the tight downtown and all that traffic. Thanks for watching and thanks for the support!
@@stevesliff i picked up a load there last week and there was road work so i had to detour through a neighborhood. little sketchy
I used to pick up when I was with JR. Shugel reefer Elizabeth New Jersey every week picking up eggs. Going to Ohio
Nice! Eggs. Had a load of those once. Nervous the whole way. LOL.
I remember riding with my dad when I was 12 or 13. Fun times. So what shipper held ya up?
Yeah, Its been a great bonding time and memory making. It was Associated Grocery Warehouse in Goodlettsville, TN.
Saw you this morning at the jackson yard.
Yes! Thank you and was nice meeting you as well. Be safe out there.
i think i’ll be leaving kllm very soon, im getting tired of the reefer schedule
Reefer hauling is all I know. I’ve been driving since 2012 and only worked for 2 mom and pop’s. I’ve always carried the philosophy that no matter the economy people have to eat. Without food even Washington DC dies.
@@DanielJohnson-ot8wj i can completely respect that tbh
Yeah, I can appreciate that. Let us know where you land.
Yeah, I figured when I started, peeps will buy food over a truckload of electronics when times are tough.
Hammer down brother! Keep those ponies humming.
Thanks Brother! Thanks for watching!
Oh boy, NJ!! From Elizabeth NJ. That stae is not fun for a trucker!
i have a feeling they give the better loads to lease guys. my miles havent been amazing lately as company
Yeah. I have heard something like that too. Trainers first, teams second, lease third and then company drivers. Not sure how true that is. My miles have been pretty consistent for the the last year. Company and Lease.
@@stevesliff I’m not saying my miles are bad, just nothing to write home about
@@pridemizzle1565 I get it. Keep coming back.
Hello Steve wondering if you happen to know about the kllm academy in Texas shows Closed, Thank you
It is. I have a call this week with KLLM and will get all the updated hiring, school, hiring locations, etc, news and post a video.
Man I’ve been waiting to come back on board for 4 weeks. I had to go to another company. They said they couldn’t tell me when they could get me seated.
Sorry to hear. Go get some experience and keep checking back or let us know how the new gig is.
I applied for KLLM just yesterday and received a message today saying they dont hire out of my state. Im pretty discouraged being as they were on the top of my list 😢
Man that sucks. Sorry to hear that. What state are you in to help others that watch? Is it a temporary freeze or just a state they don't hire from?
@@stevesliff I’m in Nevada. I had spoke with a recruiter a couple of months ago out of the Ontario terminal and when I asked about hiring out of Vegas he said they did
Do you know how far back they go on their hair follicle test? Recently have turned my life around trying to pursue a career just want to make sure I’m past the threshold that they test for. Thank you. Love the content you and one other have really helped me realize this is what I want to do.
And before anyone says any thing negative I know just stop and I have. Just rather be safe than sorry and not rush it if I’m close to the threshold.
Totally understand. There are a ton of folks that ask and are in the same position. No judgment here stoner!!!!! Ha Ha showing my age now.
Appreciate it! Do you by chance know how far back the company goes? I definitely want to join this company. Out of every review I’ve watched or read this company seems the best. I just want to be sure I’m safe and clear no chances
So you went to Hackett town New Jersey
LOL. Yes.
So Steve I was wondering if you're making more money doing lease or company?
Honestly, it's hit and miss. I am only two and a half months into it. I have made a few checks more than I was driving and I have made some that were equivalent to company driver pay. So I am not going backwards which is good. Keep checking on the journey and we will see where I land. This new division is more pay and better for lease I am told.
ever consider working at covenant? lol
I do not know too much about that organization. They were not on my radar when I was searching.
I have some questions I'd like to ask you. Do you have an email?
