Non football fans probably don’t realize how hard it is to make NFL. Given the fact he had no football background is miraculous. And to be one of the best at it is a tribute to his intelligence and discipline. I see movie in the future
As a former American football player and Eagles fan who became a lifelong American Rugby player (Union). His journey has been amazing. In the states we have the “what’s tougher” debate all the time. Maddening for me bcause I really have played both. Was great to hear his extended take on the subject. Great Pod. Cheers gentleman!
I love how this poddy flowed, like two old mates chopping it up with great questions and stories, no awkwardness. Mailata was the one who got me hooked on NFL. I love my NRL but NFL is my second preference, I hate all the commercial breaks but as for gameplay, American football with it's strategy and tactical play is really interesting.
Mean podcast to the both usos ✊️. As a poly this one hits home. Proud of what his accomplished, and for you to get him on your podcast is seki (mean) ✊️
Jordan makes 16 Million a year and just signed a 3 year 66 million extension a few weeks back. The extension actually puts him in the top twenty when it kicks in. Penei Sewell, another Samoan son and considered the top Offensive Right tackle in the NFL is the highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL right now at 28 million a yer. These boys are putting the poly’s on the map big time.
Got me as a SUB - found you b/c of my favorite OL/OT - MISTER. JORDAN. #Mailata!!! LOVE him! Hope they make a movie 🎬 about him & his life; it’d be a hit. Reminds me of EVERY Samoan I’ve gotten to know - players & families - including 2 families whose daughters I introduced to my college roommates & they later married, all b/c of the Samoan OL-pipeline that Coach #RobertAnae created during his, & my, time @ Texas Tech.
American Spot is Hyped above more then what anyone could possibly imagine like Godlike idolise and having someone like him on your show is a Big deal 👌
You know for all that he had against him in terms of family and having to learn a COMPLETELY new sport in his early 20s he's made out pretty well. No offense to rugby league but the money in NFL vs NRL is pretty significant. He's now got himself that 66 million USD richer contract which converted to AUD is 99,733,890.91 which is absolutely nothing to sniff at. He's making more individually than NRL clubs have in entire annual salary caps. 🦅
mannn the way jordan breaks down the game, he’s worth that new contract! only a couple years into a game where blokes spend their whole life … lesssgo mana!
So he was pigeon holed by clubs because of his weight? What a joke. Good for him that clubs weren't progressive thinkers. Look at him now. He's laughing. He's probably worth more than the clubs that knocked him back now. Good on you uso.
realistically he wouldnt have made it in the NRL just purely because of his size the talent is there however the game has sped up and he would last a very short per game time given the aerobic demands. ..however he is 1000% suited to the NFL o-line. Great to see hes down to earth and very relatable and hasnt let fame get to his head.
No chance someone close to 170kg keeps up with the modern game. The cardio gap is as big as the explosive/power gap, between the athletes. The NFL is chess, but each player is also a freakish athlete. NRL athletes are not as freakish but all have elite aerobic conditioning.
I was a bit biased with obviously being Australian but his personality and way he explains things I can now see how NFL vs NRL is just a stupid comparison, they're both their own sports and cater to different fitness and tactical levels and even though I still feel NRL is the more funner sport to watch I feel stupid even getting worked up over the debate 😂. Watch/Play what you love
mate theres been heaps of samoans (ie american samoans) in NFL for decades now. Theyre not just starting to get big just because an aussie samoan is in there LMAO
@@BlackMikePerry yeah for sure, I'm just saying josh acting surprised theres samoans in nfl LMAO. Theres thousands of americans of samoan heritage that have been in nfl. Theres a crazy stat somewhere saying a polynesian is a thousand times more likely to make into nfl than a normal american.
Yeah, I was surprised when he said that also. About a dozen polys were drafted last week and ten of them Samoans. A lot more getting invites to try out…..hoping for the best for them and their families. God is good.
NFL is chess? All their positions have to focus on one thing, the offensive players don’t have to know how to tackle, they have a lot of time to run plays, there’s a lot of going backwards in rugby and rugby league, the defense is playing backwards with top athletes coming at them, plus kicking. NFL is more dangerous because they are free to tack as they please however the most difficult thing about our sport is conditioning, you have to constantly be making decisions and analysing plays from the opponents on the spot and it’s non stop. Definitely have to have more ball skill in rugby/league. Rugby/league athlete would be able to cross over into NFL give time to learn. He himself made into the NFL only after what 2-3 years of picking up their sport, he’s already getting paid millions, no disrespect, diss or shade at all, he played league his whole life and couldn’t crack NRL, yes he played u20s but I’d put money on saying that u20s and NRL are completely different levels. All power to the uso though, I’m bias and I love Rugby/league. He’s the man and hope he has a HOF career plus more big contracts, I just don’t agree with him.
Much love&respect for you Jordan mailata 🎉🎉 Philly loves you brotha.
That was the most detailed description of a NFL player's work week that I ever heard my entire American NFL fan's lifetime
Jordan is a true definition of a gentle giant 🇼🇸 So great to see him come back to Aus and give back to his community.

Reason why he succeeded is because he is humble, intelligent and blessed.

Huge Philly fan from NJ love to see an Aussie interview. Big love !
He and Jason are the reasons I fell back in love with American football after some really bad stadium experiences with another team. Go birds!

Dude is an intelligent man, explains how fast he became the highest paid Tackle in NFL. Great real model for Samoa

@colkur5007 have to disagree there bro, he could play 30 minutes 9ff the bench if he trained enough

Most american sports can't do good representative games in general.

It seems like the players are chess pieces, not chess players. Doesn't the coach make all the calls?

2 aussie samoans. Guarantee ya, find some more samoan-aussies 6'4+, they'd take over.

mansour is horrible
And How is that ??
@@leroy-bacon3119 as an interviewer, obviously did barely any research aswell.
