    In this video, I walk you through, step by step, in how to set up your helicopter in DIR mode. This is a 3GX setup video, and not a head setup, so I ONLY show the 3GX process. If you need help with the head setup, come over to the forum and we will help you out.

    Hi. Nice guide video! But i think i'm missing something. First, i'm going to use FlySky FSI6 and IA6B rx, output SBUS. Which model type should i select? Collective Helicopter (collective output on channel 6) or, 120 swash?
    Second, if on mid stick, some of the cyclic servo are not level, how do i do the sub-trim? Thanks..

      I'm not familiar with setting up FlySky, however I do believe you will put it in 120 mode. But, be very cautious as I"m not 100% sure on this. And if you are not set to level on the servo arm, try a different arm. If that doesn't work, or you don't have the arms, this gyro required subtrim adjustments. It's not ideal, but it's a 3GX and it's just what you have to do. Honestly, if your finances will allow you, get something better like a MicroBeast or Ikon Mini. You will definitely be money ahead over this gyro. www.Rc-Help.com

    Great video. Do I realy need a governor on electric trex 500? What are the pros and cons? Is it easier to fly or control in the air?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delay, this one didn't send me an email. A governor is good on almost anything out there. The 500 flying with a governor will be more stable in the air, and if you do hard collective movements, it will keep the headspeed constant rather than it bogging down. I suggest running a governor. On an electric, if you have a hobbywing V4 ESC, the governor is fantastic.

      @@RcHelpDotCom What would happen if I just have a streight (shelf) throttle curve, lets say, at 75%, or have it like 0, 75, 78, 81, 84? Would it keep fairly stable rpm while increasing pitch?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      For that, you would need a V curve like 70 75 80 75 70. As you add pitch, you will add drag on the motor which will cause the head speed to sag. A governor is still better.

    • @rmiklosh

      @@RcHelpDotCom Well, since I am still learning hovering and forward flight, and my pitch curve is almost streight line 50, 65, 72 (5 degrees angle), 78, 84, I have slight pitch changes just enough for gradual lift. So with such small increase of pitch, I think that if I set throttle to 85% streight line (shelf), due to high rpms, I will have almost constant 85% spinning. It is just my theory to check out.

    If I move my throttle stick up and the pitch moves instead of the motor spinning, would that be a governor setup issue? I'm using a Align T6 transmitter

      you've got the wrong servos either plugged into the receiver or the 3GX unit. make sure the channel order is correct and that your remote is also relaying the correct channel order to your helicopter.

    Hi, if it's not going in the right direction for the aileron and elevator , what I need to do?

    • @RcHelpDotCom
      @RcHelpDotCom  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reverse it? Since I can't see your helicopter, I have no idea what way it is moving in conjunction to your sticks, so there is absolutely no way for me to tell you what you need to do. www.Rc-Help.com

    Trying to fix the servos because when it goes back up, it goes very slow. Been trying to figure out what did I do wrong or what did I miss. Please help me.

    • @RcHelpDotCom

      The gyro will try to hold the head in the direction that you told it to go in for a bit before returning to center. Returning to center slowly is normal. www.Rc-Help.com

    • @Dalena0419
      @Dalena0419 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is normal? Because when I start flying it does the same the servos still move slowly back up to center that's why the heli keep on tilting or drifting badly

      Hi, so I connect the 3GX to my laptop and try to edit the setting and it pop up fail, try again, do I have to update the software? I got the 3GX V3 software and the guy that gave me the 3gx he never connect it the computer before

      @@Dalena0419 You may just have a bad 3GX unit. They are known to stop working correctly all of a sudden. I read your other reply that you deleted where you are having issues connecting it to the computer. You do not have to have the same firmware, but it's best if you do. And the ONLY firmware I suggest is 2.1. That is it. 3.1 has horrible ground tendencies before you take off, 4.0 has horrible tail and cyclic issues in the air, and 5.0 has the best of both worlds, horrible on the ground and horrible in the air. So stick with 2.1. You can download all of them from out site. www.rc-help.com/ams/category/align-3gx-gyro.24/
