Psalm: 17. David's prayer
(1) O Lord, pay attention to my plea -
Heed my supplications that come forth from the innocent lips.
(2) May my judgment be issued by Your presence.
Let your eyes see the truth.
(3) You have tried my heart. You at night
Supervised me.
You ate me and did not lose anything.
I have determined that my mouth should not sin.
(4) By the help of the words of your lips in human affairs
I refrain from the ways of the wrongdoers.
(5) My steps have been in your ways.
My feet did not slip.
(6) O God! I have prayed to you because you will answer me.
Bend your ear towards me and listen to my request.
(7) He who gives his right hand to those who trust him
Protects from their opponents Show your strange kindness!
(8) Protect me like the apple of the eye. Hide me in the shadow of your wings. (9) From the wicked who oppress me.
From my mortal enemies who surround me.
(10) They have hardened their hearts. They talk big with their mouths. (11) They have surrounded us step by step.
They are bent on beating us to the ground. (12) He is like a tiger eager to tear. He is like a young tiger hidden in hidden places.
(13) Arise, O Lord!
Face it. Beat him. Save my life from the wicked with your sword. (14) By your hand, O Lord! Save me from people. That is, from the people of the world whose fate is in this life
And whose belly is filled with its own store. Their children are also according to meaning.
They leave the rest of their wealth to their children (15) but I will see you in righteousness. When I wake up, I will be filled with your likeness.
