    Most beauticians aren't focusing on making sure the hair and scalp are completely free of debris and dandruff fr. They're more focused on the style and facade of a good job

      Yes here in Florida S. I was so disappointed I went to a haitian salon and it was as if I was watching whats currently trending in the shop. All care of the black hair went out the window and tight cornrows for weaves, wigs and sew ins was the thing. No care for the natural hair was non existant they looked at my hair as if I was a new species on earth.

      Malassezia globosa is the yeast which its overgrowth can negatively impact the scalp/cause dandruff. There’s over 1k types of yeast and the one most common in food + drinks are Saccharomyces yeasts. Meaning ridding or reducing said yeast from food wouldn’t impact the yeast that naturally lives on our scalp thus not changing one’s sensitivity to the oleic acid produced by said yeast.
      Having a diet plentiful in foods high in sugar and yeast tends to be an example of overeating said foods, it can be higher in calories and leaves you less hungry for foods that can provide more nutrients, as without them, it’s a form of stress on your body. Stress itself can trigger flares, bad diets can cause even malnutrition, sickness can be harder to overcome too. Eating less sugar + yeast probably helped with your health overall rather than thinking it reduces the yeast on your scalp/reduces what the scalp feeds on! I hope this helps. There are plant based dandruff/SB products, even nizoral with its active ingredient contains little to no excessive amount of other ingredients deemed not necessary! But even for that to work, one does need to clean their scalp more often than not

Moisturizing, to natural products to use also creating your own. Hair management from the food you eat. You are doing something and this is great!!!! A big issue is edge control type gummy gels used throughout the whole head for braids or loc retwists. It's caused permanent issues for so many including myself. I think the usage of these gels in the UK has increased since people have seen them used in the US, and want that slick shiny look, clean parts, better tucking. Its a cheat/aid for better looking results now that more people are interested in becoming a hairstylist. Everything is not for everyone... that gel certainly isn't.

    • @tfairmanxo
      @tfairmanxo 18 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      This is the comment I was looking for! Back in the day those gels weren't being used so heavily where it's completely coating and blocking the scalp... how can your hair grow? Try putting on edge control while you have nail polish on and watch how your polish starts to break down & become sticky 😮‍💨 I've stopped using everything on my scalp (even the OGs like blue magic & Dax) and it's helped significantly. I'm okay have my hair a little more frizzy to avoid further scalp damage.
      Stress, high sugar & carbs, lack of water also contribute to the constant flare ups.
      I saw someone say bonnets & headscarves too which makes sense. Since 2020 more people were and continue to work from home. I wfh too so I don't take mine off as much as I used to.. I will take them off and start letting my hair breathe more often!

      As someone that has to use numerous products to tame my thick, curly, wavy hair I highly recommend deep cleaning your scalp. You can use an astringent or diluted apple cider vinegar before you shampoo. I use a clarifying shampoo, medicated shampoo, and finish with a conditioning shampoo. To condition I use a protein rich conditioner or even cholesterol treatment. My hair care regimen is extensive because I deal with seborrheic dermatitis and eczema. To keep it under control I follow the steps I've shared and cleanse my body of yeast. Making dietary adjustments has worked wonders. I used to suffer miserably with corn flake sized dandruff and sores that would bleed no matter how much I shampooed my hair.

    • @harrietxo2310
      @harrietxo2310 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheWealthyChickor just a really good clarifying shampoo and washing twice. Like how we double cleanse our face! many skincare/haircare brands will have a scalp product e.g contains salicylic acid or glycolic acid + other things, for exfoliation & to start the progress of a deep cleanse (the exfoliants are great at preventing flare ups of SB, as well as the amount of flaking over time. It’s also in some of the neutrogena tsal range! more specifically the 2 in 1 which you can use regularly without leaving your hair too dry). Abbey Yung has many videos testing different drug store items for each step of a hair care routine, with suggestions for which ones she loves and why

    • @harrietxo2310
      @harrietxo2310 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheWealthyChickI love ur routine! It matches mine exactly haha! I started writing my other comment before I realised I hadn’t clicked “show/read more”! It does seem extensive (tbh it is) but it works wonders, especially maintaining such, it even helps you learn more about your hair, the health of it and maintains your sanity 😂 flare ups of SB + eczema are something I don’t wish on my worst enemy. I even use my medicated shampoo on my face and areas on my body that has more oil glands bc SB can end up flaring there even if it’s never done so! It flared to a tiny area in my eyebrow, patch on my right cheekbone and next to my nostril. I don’t get flares there since doing so and my skin textures improved. The active ingredient in nizoral also promotes hair growth genuinely, hence why a lot of derms have spoken on it, hair density can improve too from not needing to scratch on it at all especially during sleep

    Plant-based DOES NOT mean free from harsh chemicals. Plenty of harsh chemicals can be extracted from plants. Plenty of synthetic chemicals are perfectly fine.
    Don't buy into the "free from" marketing gimmicks
