- Billionaire inventor Sir James Dyson has embarked on an agricultural spending spree -- paying some £150m for more than 6,800ha (17,000 acres) of Lincolnshire farmland.
Buying farmland is popular with many wealthy investors because it doesn't incur inheritance tax. Some critics feel this unfairly bumps up land values, pricing 'genuine' farmers out of the market. But others feel it can create opportunities too.
In this video, Farmers Weekly chief reporter Johann Tasker quizzes Lincolnshire farmer Andrew Ward about the pros and cons of big money investments in farmland.
Average English farmland values reached a record high of £22,500/ha (£9,100 per acre) during the last three months of 2012, according to land agents Smiths Gore.
He has a TH-cam channel now, Andrew ward Farmer. His videos are great.
John Magnier of Coolmore bloodstock is doing the same thing in Ireland

It wouldn’t be so bad but he doesn’t even manufacture in the UK
I fail to see how that statement has any relevance?
