VIP Brandsy Yes, of course that may be the reason that some people value 10,000 lives more than their family's lives but the point I was trying to make is that it's all very relative. Of course, you may value your family's lives more than 10,000 but then think of all of the families that you are destroying in that 10,000 lives. To someone who would say that they'd rather save their family's lives, I would say "Why are your family's lives worth more than the many many families you are destroying?". I'm not wrong either. Some people DO value 10,000 lives over 2. How can you argue with that? Also I would like to say that the reason you would value your family's lives more than 10,000 lives is because you like and love your family. But the only reason you like and love your family is because you have been raised by them and have had the chance to build a relationship with them. This could be the same no matter who your parents are. So saying that your family's lives matter more than the 10,000 is, in my opinion, a lack of thought about what it would be like in someone else's shoes.
