- I'm thrifting at the Hartville Thrift Shoppe today, an amazing place to shop and WAY cheaper than Goodwill! Come shop with me to see what I found! I'll also be making a stop at Goodwill on the way home where I find a few more "eBayable" things! I promise to share all the information about what I'm picking, how much I'm paying, and what I think I will make on any item that I sell on eBay, on Nixnax.net, or in a sale here on TH-cam!

Have you tried using rice to clean? Put uncooked rice in your vases, just a little bit, add a little dish soap and some water. Shake it. The rice will clean the gross out of your vases. Don't dump it down the drain! Of course you will have to stick your finger in the hole before you start shaking! 😂 Another fun shopping trip!

It’s just a great day when you go to Hartville Thrift! The metal piece with the wood handles is for winding a clothesline around, very cool. The primitive candle holder with the horseshoe handles is great. And now I have a new mug manufacturer to look for, MARA. I hope you show us the different ink pens they looked fun.

I love Hartville so much, but sharing it, over Goodwill, has hurt the growth of my channel 🤨 so I need to strike a balance.
Amy that sun mug is everything!! Wish I could buy all the Santas lol I had hickory chips for my gas grill. When my back got so bad I couldn't lift the propane tank. I just gave the grill away and all the extras. Chips still new in the bag went w/it. This was way before I started to watch you or Irf would have got them. I loved to grill back then too. Contractors were here doing some work and one guy said he would take. Was happy to see it go off my patio. I went to lock the side gate and there was the grill. Next day I said Mark you were take'n the grill. I didn't know you were just take'n it around the corner. He goes it's gonna go today w/were out of room in the truck yesterday. Mark looked just like one of those Santas too.

Irf has gotten so good on the grill and in the kitchen. He never cooked before me, but he liked to help me in the kitchen and then he kind of took over! ❤️

I love the Mara mug & the bamboo easel! I’ve never seen a bamboo easel! Fun fact- my son’s sweet labradoodle is named Mara. I call her my granddoodle:) Anyway, the prices at Hartville are just so amazing! Great finds! Thanks for sharing! xo

The white cup with the soft pink/apricot inside behind the horse shoe candle holder, is a nespresso origin cup. They are worth the pickup, even a singleton. With me they always sell. They come in two sizes and are expensive new.

Irf has made steaks for my whole family! Although he never cooked when we met, he has become a pretty good chef! 👨🏾🍳❤️
i bought some small little stainless ball bearings that work great for cleaning vases. Some dawn and water and whisk them around with a circular mitiin and they scour all the old grime off. Then drain into a colander and back into their jar for next time.
That sounds smart! Probably like rice or salt. 🤔

Hi Amy. Sometimes broken eggshells with just a little bit of water do the trick cleaning up glass vases and such since they scrape off the residue when shaking gently. 🤓 Also there is no risk of breaking the mouth of the vase with a rigid "thingy". Just make sure the eggshell shards you put in there are small enough to come back out. If not use vinegar to dissolve them.

How do you get people to buy these things when you've showed what you paid for them?
Most sales happen on eBay where buyers don’t know, nor care, what I paid for them. They will pay what they are worth, because it’s something they want.
I do offer a discount to viewer friends and I’ve found that many people are happy to buy from me. They are supporting my small business and would rather purchase great vintage things from me than new, cheap things from companies like Walmart (side note: Walmart is also a reseller who gets things very cheaply and marks them up, making billions of dollars for executives who are already rich… while underpaying their workers.😕)

I know that's true for some areas, for sure! We still have a Goodwill system in my area with a loyalty program, so we can shop with coupons. I wish they all were doing that!
