    we need savings and capital investment in plant and equipment. We need to start making things. We have a huge trade deficit.
    America is broke, we’ve been on a spending binge, with the consumer , corporate America, and government.
    Dimon makes some good points; we need more capital, and we do that with more savings and less government (minimal taxes, regulations, spending). This is how you increase productivity, it’s by innovating and in better equipment and producing consumer goods. Most of our productivity has been offshored to economically more free nations .

    this is total BS...capital investment has been enormous in the last 30 years yet wages have not increased in the last 30 years...might help HIS wage, but not the average middle class or working class American

    How can you get above 2% growth with extreme income inequality? An important part of the equation is getting money into the hands of the front line workers, who will spend every penny and create *real* economic growth (in addition to getting bigger loans based on their new, higher incomes).

    Any time a rich guy is trying to sell you something, whether it is an idea or a product, rest assured that his net goal is to increase his wealth by getting you to do what he wants you to do that will get some of your money into his wallet.

    • @constituenta5293
      @constituenta5293 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I believed what you say, Oliver, I'd have played the hand that I was dealt quite differently.

    • @OutSideTheBoxFormat
      @OutSideTheBoxFormat 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You watch to many movies. Rich guy = bad guy typical typecast. Scripts aren't written by capitalists more likely by socialists. Guess what? When you're rich you're not obsessed over money like that, it's the other way around. If you had to strangers visiting at your house one was a wealthy man and the other is a homeless man, something comes up and you have to leave for a few minutes but only one can come with you. Which one are you going to trust being alone in your house?

    • @constituenta5293
      @constituenta5293 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "(W)atch too many movies"? That's kind of funny, Air Em Out, because I have a general disdain for cinema, as I usually find the plots predictable and boring (most comedies and dramas), or the premise absurd to start with (most sci-fi and horror), and therefore not worth my time.
      I invited seven homeless men to stay in my house during, and in the aftermath of, the back-to-back hurricanes Frances and Jeanne in 2004, so I had to smile at your hypothetical question. Do you not see the irony of stating first that the wealthy are "not obsessed over money ... the other way around", and then your assumption that someone, anyone, if forced to choose, would prefer to leave a wealthy stranger, rather than a homeless stranger, alone in their home? This is such a deeply ingrained mindset that it is second-nature for you to assume that trustworthiness can be measured by a one-to-one correspondence with wealth. Proof of my initial premise doesn't require portrayal of a caricature in a film.

    • @OutSideTheBoxFormat
      @OutSideTheBoxFormat 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Displaced people aren't the same as homeless. They weren't actually homeless if they had a house that was lost due to natural events.

    • @constituenta5293
      @constituenta5293 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You misunderstood what I said. They were homeless, had been living in the woods for quite some time. I invited them to come to my home for safety from the elements, as a storm was coming. Before the power was restored from the first one, we were hit with a second. We had no electricity for almost three months. The real blessing was that, since they were accustomed to living without electricity, they were extremely resourceful, and very helpful throughout the entire experience.

      I viewed several clips of their program today, Lsatq. No visible 'breath' once, and some guests more 'bundled up' than others, who chose to wear only a suit and tie, without a single shiver; no gloves or mittens to protect the digits. They may have made periodic jaunts out of doors during their program, but seated around this dias, they are indoors.

    It is difficult to understand how Trump plans to increase growth on a long term, when pursuing such a protectionist policy and withdrawing from various important international agreements, as American companies are dependent on cooperation with other countries. For example; The hugh environmentally driven business sector can be difficult to recover in the US when Trump finally ends up in prison.

    • @imisstoronto3121
      @imisstoronto3121 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting point. Trump thinks coal is the answer, when the rest of the world is moving on and leaving coal far behind. Solar or other green forms of energy will not be coming to the US so quickly, either in manufacturing or use.
      And with Scott Pruitt leading the EPA, standards and other regs will be tossed out in favour of the corporations, so I don't see how other countries will take you seriously.
