Actually on The Flash 6nd season's trailer mentioned "the power of love", also Barry said to Ramsey in one episode that the people he loves was his strength or something like that. Barry has proved plenty of times that he has a big heart but also he has suffered so much to drive anyone insane, at the end of S2 he lost hope when Zoom killed his dad. Barry never went to the dark side because of his family and friends. Love and being loved is what helped him to be the best hero and the best version of himself.
I didn't care a lot for Mia in the beginning but in this case I think someone is allowed to be a little bitchy when their dad just died. It's a lot more justifiable than some of the things she was whiny about early on.

It’s all a build up making us think Kate is going to do something bad but she is trying to save Kara from dying from using the book cause it WILL kill her or make her go insane. Kingdom Come Superman I believe is the most powerful of all versions of Superman in the comics, because he's been exposed to the yellow sun for the longest time, so he is suppose to win that fight.
