The conversation around Grav and Mac was so good and so spot on. They just have to be the best midfield 'engine room' pairing in the world. The greatest compliment we can give Grav is that Real Madrid's whole game plan revolved around stopping him at all costs, and that they utterly failed. Camavinga, yes Camavinga, was reduced to making three fouls in the first that were all yellow carders (but the French ref of course did not even give a foul for two of them and no card for any of them). Modric, yes Modric, was reduced to fly-hacking at him from the deck as Grav skipped past him - and again, surprise surprise, no yellow. And both of them were subbed in the second half. The greatest compliment you can give Mac is that neither Real nor City even tried the 'Grav tactic' of trying to kick him out of the game - they both knew it's a waste of time because he is so street smart and tough. These are the best pairing we have had in midfield since Gerrard and Alonso ... Oh, and with Jones, Szobo and Elliott the whole midfield is a bit good ....
Gravenberch should not be in the starting line-up for the Everton game as their only tactic would be to try to maim him -- not to win the match, but rather to try to derail our season. We've been there before with them.
Reminded me of 2-0 against United before lockdown. The first 20 minutes of the second half that day was as dominant as I saw Klopp's Reds against one of the top 6. Yesterday was a similar, maybe stronger level if dominance. They looked just as bas as their neighbours under Solkskjaer
People need to calm down ffs we're 13 games in! The media an the likes of Gary Neville trying to put us under pressure saying we have to win it now. We've got away games at Chelsea, City, Spurs, Villa, Newcastle, Brighton, Everton, Forest, all potential banana skins, possible injuries etc etc. Let's see where we are with 13 to play!
Stop this wool narrative. This is the stupidest mentality you can have as a football fan. What will happen if you are completely happy and optimistic OR completely miserable a pessimistic? Nothing. You’re not important and you have no impact on what the players will do. The only thing that will happen is you will be happier. Your stupid sense of importance is making you miss the fun part of being a fan. Enjoy this, if you don’t, what is the actual point?
Brilliant chat still smiling thinking 🤔 about being 11pts clear of city plus we're playing with more control happy days hope mo stays and verg ynwa reds
I have to agree that City are reminiscent of a Liverpool of two seasons ago. Tired and in need of a spark. On the other hand, Slot has got the players well oiled right now. The press and shape was excellent. City didn’t know how to cope and struggled to play it out from the back. Could have been 4 or 5 on another day.
I think the most influential reason for Gravy’s improvement is the leadership he’s been surrounded by at LIV. When you are young and have experienced nothing but success as an athlete, it is all mental when you reach the top level and start to encounter hurdles. It think it’s obvious he wasn’t getting support clearing those hurdles at Bayern and has at LIV. I am virtually certain Thiago spent time with him last year teaching him how to improve the angles he presents to passers behind him and how takes those passes. I don’t doubt he’s learned the importance of fitness and diet. Positionally, I’ll bet that VVD has been instrumental in teaching him how to screen the defense well as a solo 6. The exciting part is that I don’t think we’ve half of what is to come from him. He’s just getting the defensive part down … once he’s more comfy with that and the mids are all better at “swapping” roles … you’ll see him romp fwd more often and produce product.
Our biggest nemesis this season is injuries now ... and I'm getting concerned about how much certain players are having to play ... If anything happened to Virgil or Grav we would be in serious trouble, but both are forced to play every game due to how much of a drop-off there is if they are rested ... The Madrid game could eventually be remembered for the WRONG reasons, as it stripped us of Bradly and Konate just as a BUSY period had arrived. they are two massive losses, and i think we're going to have to play more reserves in the remaining CL fixtures. We're clearly going to finish in the automatic qualifying section, so use those games to rest key players and give them a little breather.
Games at The Ev haven’t actually been a challenge for 8+ yrs … if we play the team and not the occasion, as we have been, that’s 3 points. NEW and TOT away are the remaining difficult propositions before new year. If we take 4/6 from those two games , I think we reach wk 20 with 1L , 2 Ds, having only dropped 7 pts in the first half, on pace for a centurion, and further ahead of the pack than we are now.
22 more league wins (from the 25 left) and we'd get 100 points and equal Pep's Premier League record, which they only got because we finished on 99 that year. I'm wondering if that is something that Arne's said to some of the bigger names in the dressing room, aiming as high as they possibly could to get some form of revenge for all those seasons City stole titles off us (and others), partly due to the 115 and partly down to their gaffer. To get 101 points (or more) might be so very difficult, but there's a maximum of 109 available to the lads this season and we might yet see us getting lots of them.
The whole "6 fingers/getting sacked' thing was obvious banter. It only became a thing after the game when Pep decided it was an Ortega said what he did. But then City have made a habit of whining about some egregious insult they suffer whenver they lose at Anfield.
Anyone else think “you’re getting sacked in the morning” was a bit beneath us? It’s right up there with “your shit and you know you are” . Proper cringe midlands/london club chant that! I actually liked guardiola more when he said “I didn’t expect that at Anfield’ he wasn’t gutted about it, he just thought we were bigger than that. It kind of showed that he respects what we’re all about.
Maybe, if Pep hadn't been joking about getting sacked if he lost himself before the game. Seemed like a joke everyone was in on at the time, until Pep decided to make an issue about it afterward. But then City make a new one of those (an issue) every time they lose at Anfield, so nothing new.
@ it’s the fact that it was tongue in cheek that’s the problem, when it was a horrible little twat like mourinho, who was about to be sacked and we hate him, that was sound. But to sing it ironically at one of the best coaches ever is biff as fuck
I wonder what insecurities it takes to tell people that women don't belong. Beth is the Liverpool correspondent for ESPN. I expect she knows about the sport more than you do.
It was very nice of Pep to acknowledge Liverpool's 6 champions league/European cup titles at the end

When pep held up the 1 finger, his 1 he scratched in his nose, followed by the 5 digits on his other hand he was making reference to the 115 charges
Congrats to TAW on reaching 100k subs on TH-cam 👏 🎉

This lady is great, real valuable points, not just checking a box.

Each win adds more pressure on those below to not slip up.... As they know they have to be perfect for the rest of the season!!!
Gravenberch! What a player! That is all 🙌
Here we go - Monday sorted =)
Up the red's

Fucking hell wool. If we get hit by an asteroid we will be in trouble. Why live in this weird misery?
I’ve never watched so much u-tube ever
Same 😭 this title run is ruining my life

Who are the peeps sitting in the background ??
How do you get a ticket !!
Klopp leaving has had a devastating effect on City....🙂
Great win. Shame it's being overshadowed yet again by more contract talk. Really starting to grate on me now these contracts..
Power Zone for the win
We’re gonna win the football league again.
What would Gravenberch go for now, £200m?
We can rest Gravenberch when we sign Zubemendi.

Just shows how many wools an tourists are in the ground
Nah, it was tongue in cheek and sung with a bit of humour and irony. He obviously wasn’t going to get sacked in the morning.

Nahhh we never sing that so it was quite funny just for that one time, it won’t happen again. Rare occasion you’ll hear it, made me chuckle regardless
Keep playing like this, and Liverpool will be walking out to a team honour guard by early April! 😆
Worst champions ever? 😂
Honestly it just doesn’t work having a woman on the show. Don’t be mad at the truth.
It's 2024 caveman!
Did you just pop in between Andrew Tate videos?
Go back to Jordan Peterson University, my guy. Football isn't for you.
