I was expecting some references to the games in this show, but I was legit impressed by how deep cut some of these references were. Like who was expecting Harold to be there? Or have Sweet Tooth pull out his TM3 outfit for his Vegas show? Or for characters like Flower Power and Granny Dread to show up?

I was like "Why did they change Preacher so much?" Only for Preacher to later reveal his entire back story is as it was in Twisted Metal: Black. I think him becoming a unapologetic hedonist is what the character in TM: Black would have become eventually.

I'm hoping the new game has a roster with as many characters from each game as possible. It was nice seeing the 989 games get some love. Wish Small Brawl would've had more references tho.
the only time i was disappointed was when they brought out the dog- since they named him billy, i thought they were gonna bring out a young calypso referencing tm: small brawl. i was already impressed though i didn’t even realize they’d WANT to reference tm3
I truly believe that advertisers intentionally put the worst of shows and movies into the trailers just to get people talking.
@@baconbenjidestroyer Nahnahnah, here me out: They intentionaly used "Velma Logic" to show something they knew most people would hate while having die hard fans know that's actuallly 100% in character for Sweet Tooth so no matter what people were gonna watch it to see if it was good or bad.

I would argue it's just formulaic vs intentional trolling. At a certain point pretty sure they are just using AI to get a basic run down on "what would likely get the most people watching."
"HAROLD, WHAT DID YOU DO, YOU KILLED EVERYONE!" Best comedic bit in the show followed by, "Jack and coke." "Why is it crunchy?" "Must be all the coke."
I honestly thought the bag killed everyone in that scene.
Or when Harold takes control of the ice cream truck at the end.
I love how the show feels episodic but most episodes have impact on the finale.
My main issues were how some characters were portrayed, at least the ones that seemed in-name only (Preacher, Mr. Slam, and any officer that wasn’t Agent Stone), but those were all fairly minor. While I do prefer JS Gilbert’s voice for Needles, Arnett is definitely a close second for me, plus the latter’s voice does fit the tone of the show better than the former’s anyway. It was a bit jarring to see Needles with arguably his most recognizable look with the zaniness of his earliest incarnations, but both Arnett and Samoa Joe make it work.
I suspect Raven is gonna try to wish Kelly back to life, because her name is the name of the Bar in New San Francisco and the camera seemed to linger on "Kelly's" at one point. Basically, I think she's got the same origin story but already got her revenge.
Yeah they def missed an opportunity with Preacher and Brimstone. I also wish they would have had Doll Face's story in there.

it started with a heavy dose of cheese but gradually became enjoyable seeing how they are slowly working up to a tournament so i am invested for now but still on guard hoping it wont fail like the witcher
Gotta say, it's interesting to watch this instead of the HBO Last of us show. Not because it's bad, but because for the Last of us you can literally play the game and notice some small changes from the story where to Twisted Metal where the lore is no existence you can literally do anything with it. Hell the show's concept might be from the cancelled Twisted Metal Apocalypse game.
It's easily a mixed bag, some stuff lands hard and well, others flop and fart into the wind.
Any scene with Sweet Tooth is generally the pinnacle height that the show reaches. Whilst he is the mascot of the franchise, he also embodies the chaotic apathy (I assume) older fans of the series resonate with and darker humour I personally wanted.
The rest of the show is a little off-brand but enjoyable. It feels too on the nose at times, but serviceable. It was more happy go lucky Mad Max than Twisted Metal, but hey, I fucking love Mad Max and this worked in it's own off-beat way.
For me what will make this season worth existing, is if Season 2 is actually solid, it's the tournament that we really want to see. Whilst this season could've been better and a more gritty Death Race style TV show, I will happily consider it the worthwhile world-building, character developing journey if Season 02 delivers.
On the nose? Majority of these people are 30 plus older to understand on the nose references, and there was no story or lore in the games it changed every time and was really really cheesy especially 3 and 4, black is black for a reason and cannot and will not be portrayed ever it’s that good, the show is goofy as hell but good the only in the nose was the twisted metal game on the car window
I don’t just hope they play Dragula, I hope Rob Zombie is in the wastelands with his Dragula. Obviously, Sherri Moon-Zombie will be there as well
Why is Evancence funny!? The song has no uplifting moments. It would be funny if they used the overplayed Bring Me To Life, but they played the somber song, 'My Immortal'. The lyrics of the song refer to a spirit lyrics of the song refer to a spirit that haunts the memory of a grieving loved one
@@MaxRamos8 Because My Immortal being played for not just Twisted Metal, but a Twisted Metal that's meant to be an action comedy, creates a surreal dissonance where you're left wondering if it was chosen as an act of sarcasm or genuine pathos.
My Immortal is a song about mourning someone you've lost and reflecting on how you couldn't help them no matter how hard you tried, being played in the context of a franchise that's largely about CAUSING those losses as collateral damage to whatever else you're doing at the moment and not even giving it a second thought... but it _still_ manages to work, in part because a lot of the contestants have ulterior motives relating to the loss of a loved one, and even Calypso is choking back his own emotional trauma to host the competition in most games.
I found the first half of the first season to be slow to get started, but I think what they setup has potential for a great second half and even future seasons. It reminded me of many anime series I have seen.
Honestly I've never even played Twisted Metal but the way you talk about it all is so interesting.
I was telling buds it was more of a fallout show with twisted metal characters. New Vegas, new San Francisco, new Chicago. That being said overall I dug it, especially what they did with sweet tooth.

I haven't seen the show yet, but this review really has interested in it and its potential second season. With that said, I wonder if Dark Tooth will appear given Sweet Tooth's origins. Although if that happens, I wonder how it'll look. The giant mega truck, the one with the freaky teeth, a mix of both perhaps?

I enjoyed the TV show and I truly believe there will be a season 2 and almost everyone will be back for the tournament including Sweet Tooth because there is no normal way to kill off the mad clown unless you’re Calypso.

I definitely believe that. No way Sweet Tooth dies from being run over. He’s a psychotic and vengeful spirit. Also loved his one man stand up routine with John and Quiet as the audience. Thought it was entertaining even though Sweet Tooth was failing at it.

TBP, I’m not sure if you caught this or if anyone else mentioned it but I believe it was in the ball pit scene Quiet talked about a previous lover named Adrian. The guy who plays Preacher in this show also played a detective in Brooklyn 99, who’s name was….. Adrian, and was in a relationship with detective Diaz, I mean Quiet. I’m not sure if anyone else caught that.
I kinda disagree with the last of us vibes, mostly cause to me, it gave me borderlands vibes cause some of the kinda nutty people and gangs, only thing missing is the sci-fi aspect but yeah, like, this is what i'd want out of a Borderlands movie/series, kinda silly but not Borderlands 3 silly. It even checks out considering Borderlands also has plenty of car stuff. If the rumoured Borderlands adaptation sucks there's at least this, in a way.
At least it's not a spit in the face like the Halo show was.
I haven't seen anyone honestly hating on it, this adaption was incredible! It was funny it was action packed the story was great and emotional, I really loved it and S2 is going to be amazing! Anthony Mackie is the perfect protagonist
The only people hating on it are people who only played black or 2012 and want something super dark and edgy

@e1m137 I was born in the late 90's and only ever played Black TM3 TM4 TMHeadsOn and 2012 TM but I thought it was a masterpiece of an adaptation it was going to be difficult since the game didn't really have much story telling outside the bios and endings
This show was a HUGE surprise. Great point of view, BTW. The character development took time, but paid tribute to the series.
Personally, if we’re choosing a character from Twisted Metal Black to be the main lead I would’ve made it Sweettooth’s younger brother. Maybe he could be trying to find out who he is and where he’s from then he finds out the truth. Which would spark tension with him, Sweettooth and basically anyone in the wasteland or the cities.
Also, I would’ve leaned more into the supernatural elements of Twisted Metal.
I'd say Twisted Metal is to The Last of Us what Nobody was to John Wick. Critically it's not as good but it's still a good time. If they ever made a season 2 or part 2 to either of those things I'd watch it and most likely enjoy it more than the first movie or season. It'd be really hard for the writers and directors to fuck it up when really they only have to beat a score of like 7/10.

I really liked the series!
But I felt it should have at least ONE more car scene. And episode 7 was the place for it. The bar fight should have evolved into a car chase (we didn't had any in the series) or a regular battle. Bloody Merry, Pizza Boy and Drag Queen cars were never shown.
On top of that I felt a general lack of highlight to the cars. Outlaw and Roadkill should have their specials addapted somehow in the final battle, like Sweet Tooth had. And Granny should have died in her Hammerhead.
And I also felt a lack of supernatural elements.
Just ready to see Minion, Darkside, and Cousin Eddy next season.
I really enjoyed the show and look forward to season 2 if it happens. I thought the way they left certain things unexplained was really neat. With season one acting as an introduction to Twisted Metal I hope the world expands. For example, how cool would it be to discover that Calypso has already granted wishes? There were a few strange things in season that could be explained as past winners wishes. Either way I will patiently await season 2.
spoilers ahead: I really enjoyed it. I was angry at first when I read there was no tournament in the first season but after thinking about it I think it makes sense. There's not enough story in the games to base a full season on just the tournament. Having already met the characters everyone will be more invested in the ones we already know, giving enough space to the new ones (although of course some of them will die early on. Axel Im afraid, seems to hard to do that on a tight budget for a whole season). I didnt like what they did with the Roberts and Shepard, and even though I am almost convinced Stone isnt dead, its not clear yet, which also makes me sad because that would pretty much mean we're out of lawmen characters, which I think you need in a post apocalypse scenario.
I think the ice cream not being the one Raven wanted is a good hint of the kind of wish granting Calypso likes, which I love. We really need him to twist the winner's wish. I'm thinking it would be cool if John is about to win but yadda yadda he realizes he wants to make the most out of his life as it is so he leaves whoever he's fighting to win the whole thing, maybe already sensing Calypso can't be trusted. If they go with Stone being alive, I think he's the most likely candidate to be the big bad in S2 as well.
I dont know if Bloody Mary being featured in the tournament means she didnt die (most likely option) or maybe that death isnt an escape from Calypso's tournament.
My final wish (heh) would be for a lot of the series' characters to participate in the tournament, which I know is hard because of budget and script problems, so if I have to pick a few they'd be No-Face (I dont think he should be blind, maybe just a deformed face after an acid attack), Cochrane could be the leader of a smaller city, maybe a Lance Wilder type (Spectre HAS to be featured and I think this Bloody Mary doesnt deserve that car) and maybe a couple of dumb characters like Meter Maid or Goggle Eyes.
I just rolled with the torture scene thebfirdt time, didnt think much of it. But then looking back it had a distinctly TM2 feel to it. Player wishes for X but in turn has to file endless paperwork for it to happen ... even the walk the line bit has a certain cutscene after beating minion kinda vibe. Lets talk easter eggs!
Here's a thought we had. We know one of the ideas for what would become Twisted Metal 2012 was post apocalyptic idea (which we saw with that nuke cloud ps3 teaser). Do you think the show was based somewhat off that idea?

Yeah I think the main reason I've avoided so many Netflix and modern films for a while now is because I DREAD having to put myself through so much cringy try-hard "humor" these script writers come up with.
I honestly loved the show. I was expecting ass. Cause those trailers and posters were horrible. But despite finding the first episode kinda bad and the second only okay. It just got better from there. And by the end I was all in. Especially love how it basically builds up to a match of twisted metal with all the characters involved. Hopefully they can pay off the setups in a second season.
One thing I really hope season 2 does is bring in the supernatural elements that all throughout the Twisted Metal franchise. The removal of the supernatural elements was one of my issues with the first season.
Sweet Tooth felt like a mix of TM95, TMBlack,TMHead-on,TM2012 and Deadpool. I ended up loving it. Also Harold is the best character.

Just because it wasnt what YOU were expecting doesnt mean its trash. Shows and movies should be critiqued for what they ARE, not what you THOUGHT they would be. It actually fits the twisted metal vibe quite well. If you're not a fan of the games, you may not get it.

26:43 While I get what you're saying, not all apocalypse senarios are created equally. The world hasn't really ended or is even near that in any way, shape, or form in this series. It's literally just that the internet went out and everyone went batshit crazy. With that specific setup, there's no reason to believe that all of the supplies would just disappear. Even with all of the looting, they establish it's only criminals that were put outside the walls, and with their priorities being transportation and guns, it's not really shocking that there's still an abundance of cars and other items.
With that said though, it makes a lot more sense for specific items such as food to be a lot more dire for the inside cities, which also makes sense since you can't just create more food out of nowhere, which is where the Milkmen come in.
Thats the only item they now show to be scarce, which makes sense because there's more guns than people in America, so being able to find a gun around anywhere isn't really surprising, and as for food. Farmers are most definitely outside of the walls, so they're most likely dead at this point, or butchered by people. That's also why the majority of the deliveries we actually see John make at the beginning are all foods.
Only thing I didn't like is that Mel McMurrin wasnt the voice for Calypso.

Watching Sweet tooth being the most calm version in this TM universe is very uncanny. But this show should be viewed as a Twisted metal fans trivia orgy.

As a long time fan of the games, all the way to the first game, the show has surprised me so far. I bought the first season on prime last night and watched the first few episodes. So far, I hope they make another season.
Coming from someone who bought the first twisted metal game on release day way back when, I expected the show to be really bad. I was so happy when I was wrong, the show was good, not great but it was good. they have hooked me, I can't wait for season two and I hope that just like the game, where Twisted Metal 2 was the very best of the series, I hope the show follow that example.
The dialogue and terrible jokes still feel like they were written mostly by children, though. I mean, I'm glad we got it at all, but the dialogue in the 20+ clips of the show that I have seen were so bad that it makes me feel like I'm going to waste my time with watching it. I'm still glad we got it, either way. I just wish this creatively bankrupt slump that has been rotting Hollywood from the inside out, is almost over.
I pretty much agree overall. I enjoyed the show for what it was and take it for it's own thing outside of the games it's based on. I do wish it had a little bit more car action in it, but I agree that may have overstayed it's welcome and that the show had to stretch it's effects budget. Yea, they did really well with Sweet Tooth. I look forward to Season 2, if that's in the works and hopefully this could kickstart a new game for the series.

Honestly the best way I described it to a friend was "That it's absolutely pure 100% garbage and we should totally watch it." It's absolutely in the so bad it's good category and the actors were just having a blast chewing on the scenery.
We noticed the decorative pentagram necklace Raven was wearing, right?
For the entire show, I thought Shadow was Quiet, she even drove a similar car, color me surprised
Goth girls grow up and sometimes have to tone down their appearance for work. I one hundred percent believe that is teen goth raven all grown up. Look at her necklace, it's a pentagram. She probably used her powers to become the mayor. Even the bar is named Kelly, which is another easter egg from the game.

I duno man. I thik the idea of Threatening torture and then having someone fill out DMV forms and listen to barby girl is pretty damn funny.
I agree with everything you said, specially about how they overdid the "comedy", but except for the fact that I hated Quiet. She's so annoying 90% of the time and her humor is just based on cursing a lot and being unsufferable, in other words, very cheap. And I understand why she is that way, but do we really need her to be the co-protagonist If that's the case? I might have liked her If she was part of the support cast, but having her as one of the protagonists made me get tired of her constant bad attitude. Also imo the actress over-acts a lot.
Other than that, I really really loved the series and I hope we'll get an even more "Twisted Metal" second season with those issues I mentioned fixed to some degree at least
Bacon, after watching your breakdowns of the Twisted Metal games, I have come to the conclusion that the creators of the videogame took so many liberties with characters and storyline etc. that almost everything that happened in the show wasn't too far out there.
Also, John Doe gave me major young Will Smith vibes by his mannerisms and the type of humor he was using. Y'know if it was Fresh Prince in an apocalyptic murderous adult setting. Did anyone else get this same feeling?
Little note about the swearing, the human psyche does decompress with things like vulgarities. While I've not seen the show, imagining the world they're living in is pretty F-bomb worthy in my book.
Some details i only really noticed watching the show a second time within a week:
A) raven hangs out at Kelly's. You know, kelly, Ravens best friend who died? Easy to miss but makes you realize why she wants the best driver possible.
B) Needles is the name he goes by in the game, but i think they did an excellent job in translating that his real name is Marcus, the newspapers called him needles in reference to how he killed Buddy, and then he CHOSE to be called sweet tooth.
C) i think i have to disagree with your assessment of the apocalypse. Its less that the WORLD ended, and more that SOCIETY died, and was replaced with a bunch of different corruptions of the concept. Basically the only things that were actually lost were internet and communication. The rest of the world wasnt lost, people just stopped caring. Now, 20-ish years of lawlessness and there are still propane tanks full of gas at a restaurant? Fairly unrealistic but pasable.
D) i think that youre underselling the Milkman idea. I dont think they're JUST delivery men. I think that it is an organized, structured faction. You get a placard and such made and everything. I dont know if that changes anything, but it is definitely interesting.
Theres lots and lots of small details and i overall dont disagree with your sentiments (i think that having sweet tooth be voiced and acted separately creates this uncanny... disjunction? in the character that really sells the psychosis.
Agent stone seems to be ALL of the agent stones, not just specifically TM:B stone. And i think that theres a funny line that "there will be another agent stone. And another and another" referencing that hes been in the series... what, 3? 4 times?
I think season 1 gave us a reason to care for the outcome of the tournament, while respectfully paying tribute to everything twisted metal fans want to see.
Hell, i dont think theres a single bad-faith Twisted Metal reference, except that john doe is only john doe in name, and thats just more for plot than anything else.
It was quite good, very respectful of the old Playstation games and it had elements of Blood Drive & Z-Nation. I’ve watched it twice now, picked up some jokes & easter eggs I missed the first time around. If you liked it, it helps to watch it again at some point, that shows up on their metrics.
Man I thought this show was so shit. Still happy it succeeded because it mean a resurgence of popularity that leads to a new game.
Its refreshing to see an actually a good review from an actual fan who knows and appreciate the lore.
The goods and the bads are perfectly explained,
and not some critic videos whinning and claiming its a disaster, only to get exposed that they only play the game once or even never at all.
Quiet hurt the show so much. It feels like she exists only to cause conflict. She was so annoying.
I give it a 5/10
Worth watching and genuinely made me laugh a few times (which is rare lol) but feels like there's at least 3 different writers fighting over the script. One wants a drama that pays tribute to the source material, one wants a comedy and really understands comedy and timing, and one is a super cringy CW writer with no concept of good comedy or good character arcs
- The show hits the perfect notes a few times but has a tendency to ruin it shortly after with cringy moments
- I like the original characters/cars being added and they get a lot of them right like Sweet Tooth but some of them are muddled, like a bunch of dark sinister semi trucks that are obviously...Twister?
- The characters are generally well written with their own quirks and personalities but sometimes the show seems to get bored of itself and and has characters immediately overcome a quirk that was brought on by years of trauma just to move the story along
So yeah, that's basically the theme here. Its a big 50/50. Half the time it's fantastic, half the time it's kinda not, either way it's a good show and hopefully we can get a season 2 that improves on the formula

I was a big Twisted Metal fan, Black was my last game.
I figure the bIg boy's in HD was gonna botch this show and go for raw and ridiculous behavior like most wild shows or movies today, but it's Twisted Metal, I get it, I'm not a full fan or blood and guts especially insane people like that's supposed to be life.
I'd prefer they stick to the source material and gave a well written back story, stretch it to fit, Calypso's push on the world from his Tournament bringing down apocalyptic distraction, that's probably a movie of 3 to 4 parts but instead HD gave the people what they (Made) them (Crave)

The show seemed pretty mid to me. Not the worst, but could have been better. Felt like Jon and Quiet drove the story into a romantic ditch, and 'romance' doesn't exactly feel like a word that should be used to describe Twisted Metal.

the show was a fun watch, just almost as good as the games, suitable premise and the right cast can make all the difference between a good fan service and dumpsterfire

Hey Bacon. It's probably something unique to point out but there /was/ a cancelled Twisted Metal game that was supposed to take place in a post apocalyptic scenario, it's possible the show is built upon that lost concept
i dont have much problem with the whole post-apocalyptic thing since clearly is more of an excuse to not be mauling pedestrians left and right, but there would be something so interesting in seeing more thing like the mall chase sequence of the first ep with them doing this whole death match race still in middle of normal society life
Yeah, that was my thoughts, they probably went with the post-apocalypse setting to avoid the practical/digital effects for the extras to save a buck.

What im saying is I demand a new Twisted Metal game.
It was probably in a weird place where Sony likely didn't care enough about the property so wasn't much meddling and the crew were able to make the show they want.
You can tell people in charge were fans lol, that always helps.
@@The-DeaditeIt's basically necessary, really. If the people I'm charge don't care, you get bland junk, and then there's the modern "We actively hate the source material" vibe...
Considering some game writer involvement, I'm glad the crew was able to produce what they did and just enjoy doing it. You could also tell some of the cast was having a good time filming it cause alot of interactions seemed genuine and fun. It's good when people want to pay respect to a franchise and keep some of the core feelings of said franchise alive.

@@The-Deadite I'm hoping the devs at Firesprite feel the same way, as they are currently working on a new TM. If they have some heart and soul for the franchise the new TM could actually turn out quite good, which would be nice to see considering none of the OG devs are involved in the upcoming game.
I do wish for Season 2 that they start off with a garage montage of each of the drivers modifying their cars for full combat to the point where they even start applying their signature weapons. Hell, even throwing in a little easter egg by having TM Head-On's menu music playing through a radio during the montage. I don't particularly agree with some of the character deaths, but I guess if you are going to have multiple drivers who pilot the same kind of vehicle, then one of them has to go. RIP to those people, I had hoped to see more of them or wish they somehow survived.
I really hope we get a moment to see Mike & Stu finally get to drive Hammerhead. And maybe a moment for Bloody Mary to receive Spectre as well, since they made it a point to say she doesn't drive (assuming she's still alive since her photo was on the tournament board).

@@PsychotiX1022 it's implied Mike was killed and Sweet Tooth took Stu back, but we didn't actually see Mike's body, and I doubt they'd break up arguably the most iconic pair of drivers for Hammerhead next season if that's the plan

I was surprised at how much I loved Sweet Tooth's character after his trailer gave me a bad feeling about the whole show. I also really liked that they gave a reason behind the name "Needles", since he used sowing needles on the dog and in his cell the newspaper called him Needles because of that.
Sweet Tooth in the series reminds me of Pennywise; both are forces of nature that will absolutely slaughter you given the chance, but also at least try to be funny while also terrifying you.

I know i'm probably wrong but i have a feeling Neve Cambell already won the tourney and she got her wish. That's why she wants someone else to do it for her this time. She is a grown up and mature version of Raven.
That would be an interesting idea but from the way they talk about it, I get the feeling that this will be the first twisted metal tournament in the shows world.
That would make perfect sense because she seemed very convinced that Calypso is capable of granting whatever wish you have to the point where she knows he can.
Maybe she wished for a reset and that's why everything is a little different..

I'd rather him not have a zany, over-the-top performance like in the earlier games. I'd want him close to how he was in the TM2 comic, just less psycho and nothing directly involving the devil. I really want Minion to be a djinn that came to Calypso in the midst of his car crash and that's how he got such power, influence and why all the paranormal shit is happening around him, drawn to him like a magnet.
@@RyuKaguyaI think the depiction in Head On would be a perfect place to start, primarily in terms of visual design. I honestly think it’s his best look, and the perfect blend of his TM 1-4 and TM Black designs.
As for personality, have him be a witty showman who revels in the chaos his tournament causes, yet is by no means a pushover and will gladly screw you should you try and muscle in on him.
I'm probably hoping for nothing but even after the way s1 ended I'm still hoping Neve Campbell turns out to be Calypso. I wouldn't care about the genderswap, she just radiates too much Calypso energy to not be Calypso
As someone who wasn’t really familiar with Twisted Metal before your videos. I had such a fun time watching this series. Anthony Mackie and the cast really elevated the show in ways I believe other performers wouldn’t have. It was that good cheese I needed in my diet. I hope they’re working on a new game in the near future, I will definitely purchase it.

The actor is fun and super into it so hopefully the writers and directors are done with their (thoroughly enjoyable) temper tantrum about having the character forced on them and go nuts with him.
You can actually see love put into the project, the team worked with what they had, but they gave it their all and that's all we ask for people making video game movies and shows to just care.
Ive loved twisted metal for 25+ years but i was never very fond of Black. I appreciate the blending of characters from all eras of twisted metal and i really had no problem with them altering the character portrayals & relationships. Im glad they didnt just stick to black or (2012) for the setting and story.
Honestly my favorite part of this series is how different it is from game to game
I love Black but they stayed with that theme too long for me. Twisted Metal's vibe is best when its like TM2.

@@adeptdamage3669 I don't think so. The Twisted Metal franchise, at its core, has always been a mix of Campy & Gruesome. TM:Black went to far into the gruesome end of the spectrum without enough camp to lighten it up.

Let me just say, Mike and Stu were my favorite characters and I'm surprised that the show gave those two so much characterization considering what they were like in the games (now that I think about it, a lot of the Twisted Metal 3 characters got treated good, or at the very least got more screen time than TM4 characters who had Cameos).😏

The torture scene actually reminds me of a specific section from a book called Eric which is apart of the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett.
