    Late Liszt was on a different level

      Surprisingly, this piece isn’t that “Late Liszt“ as it sounds, as it was written in 1855. The piece surely sounds like it was written later or around the time the revision was completed (the year being 1870). The beginning of the fugue is ahead of its time either way.
