Jihan Wu Services has really set the standard for others to follow, we love him here in Canada 🇨🇦 as he has been really helpful and changed lots of life's
Rhetorical question for those reading... When you were devoting yourself 8-5 (plus prep and commute time) to a job, did you ever wish you were doing something else instead? Like, you were staring at the car bumper in front of you in rush hour traffic, and you thought, "I would rather be....[fill in the blank]". Or you were in a meeting in a cold conference room listening to your boss talk about "hitting the mark", and you thought, "I would rather be... [fill in the blank]". I remember just wanting to go grocery shopping in the middle of the work week. I remember just wanting to not "have to be" somewhere in the morning. I liked most of my jobs, but I just wanted the simplest of things, like taking my time getting up in the morning, and not rushing. Looking back, all I wanted was time. To have time. And to have that time belong only to me. Now, since early retirement a few years back, I can get up at 5am or not. I can go back to sleep or not. I can sip my coffee as long as I want. I can just do whatever I want and whenever I want to. I can go shopping in the middle of a Wednesday and take my time, never rushing. I wander the aisles and find items I never noticed before because grocery shopping was always a hurried chore on the weekends. Since I retired early I moved to Europe, where clothes dryers are a scarcity. I hang-dry my clothes and take my time enjoying the process. People ask me what I am "doing with my time". What I do "all day". I ask them (who are working 8-5), "what did you do today?". The private thought in their silence is palpable and telling. What WERE we doing all those years 8-5? There is absolutely nothing wrong with spending 8-5 now taking extra time to sip morning coffee, wander aisles at the grocery store, walk the dog, watch a little Azul on TH-cam. Just do whatever you want. Look, just relish in time. Take your time. Just relish in you. Once you shake off that past, the present comes into focus pretty easily.
Was laid off and so retired during the pandemic but had saved into a 401K for 35 years without really ever thinking about it until looking into it. Can afford to do most anything normal but am instead enjoying growing my hair into a cool ponytail, my beard in a big grey bush, feeding wildlife in the back yard, and playing simple electric guitar! :) Am done travelling but will make one trip with Mom to Italy for October, only because she wants me to go with her and we haven't seen each other in some time.
Congratulations. I am 6 months ahead of you. Make it your job for the next few months to figure that out and you will be better off if you contemplate your options for the next year.
Congrats Jay! Let us know what you find yourself doing. I'm into stained glass, birdhouses as gifts, and do car hobbies during the winter months. Good luck in your own journey.
Azul thanks so much for your videos. I have been watching your videos since I retired 6 months ago at 56. You have addressed so many real issues that I have faced. I love how you talk to the viewers in a simple up front way. It has really made a difference for me.Made me think so much. I am in Ontario Canada. Have a wonderful holiday with your family.😊
My company paid a consultant to provide retirement classes when I was 24 and just started saving for retirement. The class was called "The Kids Table" and basically their advice was go with a target retirement fund that aligned with your 65th birthday. That was 20 years ago. It is the only thing I've ever invested in. How else can I better my finance?
Agreed, when it comes time to retirement planning, following the steps of a well experienced advisor did the trick for me in barely 5 years, turned my $500k capital to 5 figure monthly dividends. If you want to keep it very safe, then Vanguard TDF may be for you.
this is superb! Is there a problem sharing details of your financial advisor ? I have my money in a Roth, and I am trying to diversify my investment for better growth
Stacy Lynn Staples is the licensed advisor I use. Just google the name and you'd find basic info. To be honest, I almost didn't buy the idea of letting someone handle growing my finance, but so glad I did.
thanks for putting this out, curiously inputted Stacy Lynn Staples on the web, spotted her consulting page and was able to schedule a call session, she actually shows a great deal of expertise
My take after twenty years of retirement and at age 79 is that you need a challenge or challenges. Gardening, sight seeing, golf etc. are good ways of passing the time but there isn't a challenge. Going on long distance hikes, a Camino, is a challenge, studying French in Paris is a challenge but there's no challenge in wandering around with a tour group. You also need to stay fit and healthy, and you should challenge yourself physically, not just gentle walks but hard exercise, hiking or cycling up a mountain.
I prepared as best as I could before I retired. Getting use to one check(pension/social security was the easiest part!)…I took a good look at my hobbies Reading, drawing, painting, gardening and working out …BEFOE I retired…..so I knew what I would be doing…to help with adjusting the week before my retirement I signed up for AARP classes and Michael classes..this helped me to adjust well the first several weeks.
Retirement is no different than when I was working. I spent my whole life focusing on Physical, Financial, & Intellectual goals, they all paid off. I focus my retirement on those same goals, just without a job I spend more time on those goals. I train physically all year so I can go backpacking on Appalachian trail every spring. As an income investor I focus Financial goals on reinvesting unspent income. For intellectual goals I. Can fund my own research on Plasma research, electrical power systems, low carb recipes, medical research, whatever I am interested, never stop learning new things.
One year in retirement and I'm still waiting for that phone call from work. "Hey! Where the hell are you at?" 🤣😂 It is so hard to accept that I am done.
I really get this! I am going into my 4th year of retirement! The first two years I dreamed I was still sitting at my desk working😂😂😂the third year I have settled down into a comfortable routine!
@@patriciaterry5539 YES, the work dreams. 🤣 Dream: I can't get a project done and I forgot what the project was that needed done. 🤣😂 Thanks...now I know I'm not going crazy. Thanks for the response. Ok...it will take at least three years. 😔
My replacement from the position I left 3 years ago still calls with complex and simple questions. I answer the simple ones readily. For the complex ones, I bill them $150.00 an hour.
I'm 53 and have been planning my retirement since 45. I talk to people from 50 and up and I'm amazed on how many people only value in life is working for some else. I won't be board in retirement. I have a ton of hobbies outside of work.
I remember you mentioning you retired recently. Could you share some of what you’re finding, and how accurate or close your advice ( or others along the way) has been?
Searching and defining a person's identity is by far the most challenging endeavor in life. In fact, most people likely treat meaning/purpose of life as a moving target and regularly change their definition over the course of life to temporarily distract or entertain themselves. For folks who are really serious about it, searching for the meaning of life is a life-long task, not something you do after you retire. In fact, for someone who is luck and has found a relatively satisfactory answer, retirement may not matter that much for him/her anymore. The ultimate meaning would allows you to do nothing without feeling lost, or do a lot without feeling frustrated.
i was ready for retirement but not to retire. my body had a different goal. i had to retire because of disability which limits what i had planned for retirement. how do you deal with that? i have what i need but cant do what i want or planned to do. i never got phase 1 and immediately entered the it sucks phase. after 5 years i have a routine but it sucks.
My problem is things keep changing in my life. I thought I had a plan only to have life happen and my plan derailed. I made an adjustment only to have that plan derail.
It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot sir Ricky! Imagine i invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
Could you create a video on how to invest funds wisely in the stock market? I’ve come across several articles about people making a living off their investment portfolios. I have $45,000 to invest-what do you think they invested in?
The issue is people have the "I want to do it myself mentality" but not equipped enough for a crash, hence get burnt. Ideally, advisors are reps for investing jobs, and at first-hand encounter, my portfolio has yielded over 300% since 2020 just after the pandemic to date.
How can I participate in this? I sincerely aspire to establish a secure financial future and am eager to participate. Who is the driving force behind your success?

I met Caroline Suzan Olson for the first time last year at a women's conference here in Pennsylvania, and my life has changed for the better since then. God bless her!
I am at the beginning of my "investment journey", planning to put 385K into dividend stocks so that I will be making up to 30% annually in dividend returns. any good recommendation on great performing stocks or Crypto will be appreciated.

I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $200k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work.. Inflation or no inflation, my finances remain secure. So I really don't blame people who panic.
how would you recommend i enter the crypto market? I am also looking at studying some traders and copying their strategy rather than investing myself and losing money emotionally. What's your take on this approach? and How can i reach her, if you don't mind me asking?
Amazing videos. You worked 8-10hrs everyday just to pay bills, meanwhile some people put $2k-$5k into trading forex and make hundreds of thousands. Forex is still the best.
Hit 240k today Appreciate you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 24k in September 2024..
I would really love to know how much work you did put in to get to this stage

target date funds have made me a multimillionaire. i also watched them drop 40% in a very short time and take a long time to recover.

Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments.

It's true that you can imagine the benefit that people get from trading forex on a daily basis
Finding yourself a good broker is the same as finding a good wife, where you get less stress you get just enough with so much little effort at things

Currently, an account portfolio manager manages my forex investments, while I invest in real estate with the profits.
How good is your account manager and how can I contact him?
