'Do you think that in 20 years they'll be talking about 1974 as the good old days'? He was thinking that the socioeconomic situation couldnt get worse. Few people at that time could have known that we would then experience numerous recessions and a pandemic . These WERE, arguably, the good times, even though there were of course still problems. At least most people had jobs that could pay the bills, plus some extras for holidays.
Molly Ivins and other journalists were saying back then that imagine that these will be remembered as the good old days, it seems very accurate because no matter what’s happening people will probably make it worse lol. So every moment will definitely be the ‘good old days’ like even now. Imagine what horrors of extinctions and inflations and international conflicts and resistsnt pandemics will make us look back at the last few presidencies and social unrest and economic situation as ‘the good old days’ for these young millennials. God help them if they’re alive in the next few decades hahaha
People having 5-7 kids didn't help. Overpopulation. Not enough jobs now for billions of people who are robbing the Earth's resources. Surely a scary time.
Probably because of the unjustified and harsh judgment WOMEN get as they age because ( big secret, here) we ALL age. But men aren't criticized for it. No, they are called silver foxes!!!
Lucille Ball, as much as she represented late 50's/early 60's housewives, became a prickly guest on late night. Not just Carson, but also with Joan Rivers & others. Whether because she knew the appearances were strictly PR vs desire to be a guest, &/or she was simply over it @ that point - Lucy kept everything & everyone on her terms and standards for quality.
Hey what happened here? The show abruptly cut off without letting us know a thing, and the two words that popped up were "THE END." And music came on, so what's up with that, and where is Charlton Heston? Of all people to cut off, you cut off Charlton Heston, and that is Unbelievably Rude !!!!
Loved this show , irreplaceable

Lucille Ball had a rule forbidding tight close-ups in her later years.

6:01 What was the joke?
Was this March 22, 1974?
Look up what year was gasoline 67 cents a gallon or gold 130.00 an ounce. This was before Heston did planet of the apes.
probably March 29th, 1974, the day that Richard Lester's version of "3 Musketeers" debuted in American theaters.
@@AA-ke5cuthis was 6 years after the original 1968 version of "Planet of the Apes".
