    Absolutely thought-provoking discussion. There is a need to bring this type of discourse into our society again. As Kushal said our society is "Abrahamized" too much & as a consequence, tribal mindset has been dominating....

      You are describing western positivism which is the older version of current cultural marxism. It is basically a "modernist" death cult that pictures humans as automatons ie fit neatly into the colonial system. Christian muslim ummahs were older versions of this same death cult sentiment. Humans are not robots. Only weak minded people like kushal fall for this kind of stuff.
      Nastika referred to Jains and Buddhist, the left handed paths. It did not refer to atheists who are a product of the western enlightenment. "Carvakas" were fabricated by missionary/indologists much like they fabricated aryans.

    • @nnbg8000
      @nnbg8000 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hmmm I agree & somewhat disagree. Science is important but it's the other things that enrich our lives. We're a "curious-natured" species (we're not the only ones though) & writers/artists/etc. make us think, keep us curious & out of that curiousity, with the help of science, we achieve greater heights.

    • @rrrajlive
      @rrrajlive 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nnbg8000 do you mean scientists are less curious than writers and artists?
      All the gadgets writers and artists use are also invented by the scientists just because they were curious enough to have the courage and dedication to do it.

      @nnbg8000 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rrrajlive : Where do you read that in my message? I would suggest you read it again & you'll see you're actually repeating what I said about curiosity. Regarding courage, I would say anyone going against the vested interests & the status quo is courageous. It is because Petrarch & co. were courageous that Enlightenment started which in turn led to advancement of society in Europe in general, including science. However, Petrarch wasn't a "scientist" i.e. belonging to STEM (that's your definition of science, right?) We'll never know whether the first person who took the stone to another stone to draw, was an "artist" or a "scientist". All we know is that that person left behind something thousands of years ago, which still leaves us in amazement.

    Existence of God is probably only established through personal experience or demonstrated evidence by someone credible who has experienced God. You can choose to live the way you want, believe or disbelieve what you want and you are still a Hindu/Sanatani, that’s the beauty of our tradition. However just imagine that all the scientists put together don’t understand an atom completely. And such a complex universe has originated, existed and existed multiple times, got destroyed and then again recreated and so much more than the scientists have still figured out, is it not something that points to some creator? If you know more on science you start to be amazed so much that it convinces you that it cannot happen by accident

      Creator of such a complex universe will be even more complex. If there is a creator of this universe why not extend the logic and ask who created the creator? If you can stay with the fact that a god can exist without a creator but universe is so complex and is bound to have a creator, then what’s wrong to assume the universe exists without a god.

    There is nothing harm calling Buddha as "Bhagbhan". Bhangnban doens't mean Abrahamic God.Bhagban mean a person who get the height level of enlightenment.
    It's translated as Abrahamic God during British time,bcz of lack of English words, monopoly of Abrahamic worldview but according to Sanskrit ethmology Bhagbhan mean a spiritually enlightenment parson.
    It seems Vivek have many misunderstanding about Buddhism.Maybe he learn Buddhism form the modern Buddhist who make Buddhism to show itself fullfill the need of western validation but it's not actual Buddhism.

    For Kushal Mehra , Kushal Mehra is very important. One of my Uncles used to tell me those Hindus especially Brahmins who left India to become "Scientific minded" and thought that they were leaving India and Sanatana Dharma for good and were very proud of that But as time went by they understood what they had left behind. Now they are neither here nor there. On the one side they have Islam and on the other side they have Christianity People like Kushal Mehra would have accepted Christianity but Wokisim has thrown them out of the window. Now they want to analyze Sanatana Dharma in their own language. Lage raho bacche, we were never confused about our religion. One more Upanyas,no problem. Go on.😝🙄😛

    Kushal's position on many points in this podcast are questionable. He says at one point that
    1 - he does not believe there is God
    2 - he does not believe there is no God
    3 - he simply doesn't care about 1 and 2
    He, in effect, does not believe there is God. The argument he may place is that he never said. He only says he doesn't care about God one way or the other. But there is a net effect or understanding he lives with. That is - there is no God in his life, a non-believer. That is the meaning of the word 'Nastik' in the first place. So position 3 in effect is position 2. It is at best a good word play that is strategic ambiguity at best.
    He makes another point on why humans seek meaning in life. This is not true. Not everyone seeks meaning; in fact most don't. What everyone seeks is joy or happiness. They may define it differently - but what lies common amongst everyone is a need to feel happy. And it is in this quest for happiness that the search for God begins. It has to be understood that Astik traditions at their core try to first answer "What is God?" before who is God or where is God or why God? Kushal focusses on answering the question "Why do we need a God?" He can deny, negate, avoid or ignore God. But the question I want to understand is - has he understood what is God?
    I have enjoyed Kushal's podcast on many occasions. I do believe that he is intellectually honest in whatever he says. But I believe his opinion on Astika traditions, including Advaita, are based on self-learning without the guidance of a Guru from the teaching tradition. This is not recommended, in fact Adi Sankara clearly warns that self-study is dangerous and even destructive. My sincere recommendation is that Kushal should first learn Advaita (the darshan I adhere to) or any other Astika tradition under the tutelage of a Guru. He will then be fully equipped to defend or disown his Nastika affinity in a better way. Or else, all of this will at best be a great intellectual distraction - that will wither away in time.

Ironically, it arises only in the most tolerant societies just to denigrate the same society for being “intolerant.”
