You know what's funny - That's my school, from Shoreline, Washington, USA. We have (and have had for around 50 years) a Scottish theme, so it would make sense to be wearing Scottish gear. Going to Ireland every four years has been a tradition for the past few decades.
Umm... We were told that we were only going to be marching for 45 minutes. Like actually marching from our starting point to our end point, but we marched for 1 hour and 30 minutes. And thats like regular 8 to 5 marching too! However, once the adreniline kicks in, it only feels like 15 minutes!

according to the movie , braveheart- the irish did invade brittain, but with all the countries intermixing. who knows who is what now. take a look at the hair. thats a good indication.
You didn't invent bagpipes, you adopted them and so did we, the HIGHLAND scots are celts and the LOWLAND scots are English so we are glad we share the same heritage as the HIGHLAND scots who are celts like us.
Well I said that if the Irish invasion was so terrible there would be some evidence of it. I mean Julius Caesar killed a million gauls and that is well documented even though it was 500 years before and the Viking raids were known to horrific and that was in the dark ages. I think it was more of an immigration but as you said there is no way to know because as you said it was the dark ages.
Scotland's so called culture is Irish in origin. The modern kilt was invented by an Englishman. Tartan has only been in Scotland since the 16th century and only in the Highlands. It was banned and not revived until an English monarch made it popular again in the 19th century.
Are you actually comparing what happened in Ireland to Scotland? If it was as bad in Scotland you would have had stories of how bad us Irish were, which you don't. What about the Vikings? there are stories of there barbarity and they were in the dark ages.
Yeah the Highland scots and Irish are all celts they share language, sports, and traditions unlike the Lowland scots which are just English even their scots language is just a dialect of English.
Great video, and the picture is lovely and clear, thanks for posting it.
What fun! An actual honest to goodness parade. Thank you from San Francisco bay area.

This is awesome ! Happy St Patricks Day & Thank you for sharing :)
You would think that there would have been some history of it, but apparently I have never heard of the slaughter of scots by the Irish.

You don't seem to complain about it that much it was more of an immigration than an invasion.
It's all jealousy since nobody can be arsed to do anything on St Andrews Day
