gotta say that there are a lot of really boring channels talking about tasting notes with some super dry stories about nothing...but you all have a good formula here...there is some serious-ness regarding the tasting notes, but it's the offshoots of random conversation between the two of you + the random singing and weirdness that just makes your content so enjoyable, love it!
Searching videos of CR Single Malt reviews, and this channel popped up in the results. Y'all got a thing going on here that is a little bit spectacular, I loved that review! Looked up your videos and saw that this one is pretty new, and I have this same bottle. I really like it as well. I won't be buying that single malt, though, thank you for that. Subscribed, liked, shared... all those alcorithms (intentional misspell in my attempt at a portmanteau) should be steering me to more of your content. Great work!

I like screw caps. They seal the bottle well, they are easier to deal with than corks, and they don't ruin bottles with cork taint. I've had many bottles of wine ruined by bad corks. I wish the entire booze industry would abandon corks.

Enjoyed the video. Just came across your channel. I'm not a huge fan of batch 3 (63.7%) but batch 4 (63.5%) I absolutely loved, enough to buy a few backups. Batch 5 (64.2%) I found even better. 2 nights ago I was able to compare batch 1 (65.1%) and batch 5 and found them to be so similar, but I enjoyed Batch 1 just a little more.
Now I’m happy I got 2 of these bottles in the bunker. I don’t think they’re that limited because there’s just so much of it out there and like every store.
Wow the Lady is evolving into a sophisticated taster....you guys should try drinking out of something besides those Glencairns ,they are awkward(I've tried them) you have to basically look up at the ceiling to take a sip,there are some nice ones I get at the Stranahan distillery in Denver they work great-- I can send you a couple if you all have a po box or something ....thanks for the reviews you guys are so entertaining ,keep it up
Alberta Distillers releases this on a limited basis every year. I like this bottling purely from the perspective of the fact that it is truly a Rye. Not crayon water and brandy rye. But I have to admit that bubble gum and dill pickle notes are not my favorite (those are the notes I get on rye in general). I would easily choose Maker's CS or ECBP over this hands down, all day all night.
If you taste banana in a lot of whiskeys, you may be sensitive to a compound called isoamyl acetate. It’s a byproduct of the fermentation process that normally produces ethyl alcohol.
Guys, If you want to try a proper craft made Canadian Whisky, check out Shelter Point Distillary. I recommend the Ripple Rock, but they have lots of interesting stuff.
ADL (Beam Suntory) is sort of the MPG of the north. They supply several companies, like Whistle Pig, Cooper Spirits (Lock Stock & Barrel line), Mastersons, Jeffersons Rye among others. I have several different versions of cask strength AP single casks from Shelter Point, 9, 11, 12 year releadses. Even have an old 30 year Alberta Premium released in 2012. Crown Royal releases numerous different bottles, many that are not available in Canada. The old Lot 40 11 and 12 year cask strength ryes from Corbys were much better than AP CS IMO.
Honestly, Alberta Premium Cask Strength is a 10/10 for a Canadian Whiskey. The crazy part about Canada... they make the best rye grain in the world for whiskey. Their extremely loose laws on production are the real reason their whiskey stinks (mostly). If I grab a bottle of Rye Whiskey and flip it over to see it is sourced from Canada there is a 98% chance I won't buy the bottle... because rye whiskey sourced from Canada is usually poopy. Whistle Pig uses it and their whiskey is just bad. The 12 year is like $125 and drinks like $20 Seagram's. I also hate when people source like 20 year old whiskey from Canada and then try to sell their rye as a 20 year rye with a price like it is a 20 year Kentucky Rye. Canada has loads of land and loads of old, low proof, whiskey floating around. You can probably buy a barrel of 25 year old Canadian whiskey for the price of an 8 year Kentucky rye. That's why we see silly stuff like 40 year old Canadian whiskey that is only $300 MSRP.
AP is from Alberta, its the juice that they sell to american ryes, like whistle pig. One of the best bottles in canada for the price. A quintessential full rye. Crown is a blend and is so 1970's. so meh. Try Great Plains Whiskey 2 offerings.... again from Albert, the only bottle I'd drink over the AP cask.

That said: The problem in the US regarding Whisky from Canada is they mostly only have access to Crown Royal drech among a lot of bottom shelf stuff. When the whiskey tubers started reviewing Found North, Storytime (Old Dragon Bones Rye), Cooper Spirits Rye releases (Lock Stock & Barrel and Hochstaders 16 year Rye), Cats Eye Distillery (Obtanium Canadian Whisky) Barrell Spirits (13 and 14 year Single barrel Canadian Rye), Seagrass 16 year (100% Canadian), Rare Perfection stuff, among many other brands with sourced Canadian, the attitude changed a little.
