My family knew him well. Uncle said toward the end of his days he began having nightmares about the people he killed. Grandmother said he particularly disliked teenagers.
Two-Gun Pete, what a cop! I heard his former boss, Deputy Superintendent Rudy Nimocks Sr., say that the people in the community, or Two-Gun's beat, loved and respected this man. A real cop's cop! The bad guys would step aside when this man came on the scene. The law-a-bidding feared not when this cop was on-the-job. I would prefer this style of policing and no nonsense attitude of Two-Gun Pete over the social workers we have today as cops. Crime is rampant in many big cities, and the biggest reasons for this is our "failed" Justice System, that no longer administers "proper" justice to the lawless. In Two-Gun Pete's time (1940's) there was justice handed out on the street by the cop, and in the court room. Nowadays it is just the opposite! You cannot tell me that our Justice System of today is better than the Justice System of past times in this formerly great country. The same principal applies to our law enforcement. Our officers are highly trained, highly educated, and highly infected with the "woke" sickness that prevents them from being great cops. The "rules-of-the-game" have changed for our Justice System and our law enforcement. These ultra liberals aka: Communist, are systematically destroying this Republic, piecemeal. The Justice System of 2023 USA is broken, and has been for numerous years, and steadily getting worse. We are really following the same exact path that ancient Rome did centuries ago. Caving in from within from moral decadence in leadership and the people that put (vote) them in those positions of power!
My uncle and dad told me about him. I asked if my mom remembered him and she said yes. He was a cartoon character with 2 guns and a big mustache. At that point I knew I would never ask her another question again.
I remember he would come to St Louis to visit my father in that beautiful Big blue Cadillac he and my father would talk about police mates. He would always give me some money. He would say Ernest you are my boy. I liked him very much
He was my Fathers Ishman Moore Grand father. From his first marrige which is why I cant find more information. They dont have my Grand mothers information anywhere

I remember his bar at 39th & Lake Park in Chicago when I was a kid. I heard if you laid a $20 or $50 on the counter there was no change, you bet be ready to drink $20 or $50 worth of alcohol. This guy is a Chicago legend.
Actually he'd buy himself a drink with the change from a $5 bill. back then a beer would cost 20 cents or so. Muddy Waters, who lived nearby, stopped going to the HillTop because of this practice.
So as long as the Cop was Black, its okay to call him a hero? What ever the standard of the time happened to be. But there is no double standard because that wouldn't be right.
Whatever personally irresponsible actions he performed, I disapprove. HOWEVER, CRIMINALS MUST BE FOUGHT and IMPRISONED or DESTROYED! I admire this man!
Simple solutions to complex problems. Dude was a gangster with a badge. If he had went after an Irish boy like he did Black boys guys like you would have hunted him down and butchered him and you know it.

In 2019 a play was written about him. this was the first play about him as a cop and as a person
