      Yes might want to mention that a 3d scan scans EVERYTHING !- including tits on a poster, might be worth mentioning to remove such 'artwork' or that the edit software luckily includes a blur tool option.

    That’s a really substantial stand. Will appear in all the photos. I have the z1 and a monopod with small tripod is a lot better option don’t you think?

    • @threetees1428
      @threetees1428  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, I also have a monopod, however I prefer the tripod for stairs and also we have a lot of old properties with uneven stone floors which makes the monopod a little rocky although ideal for smaller rooms and corners

    • @cjb222
      @cjb222 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@threetees1428 hi, but why would you prefer a substantial tripod for for the stairs? Why not a substantial monopod with decent small tripod base with some kind of weight for extra stability.
      Or if you were worried about the stairs why didn't you switch to a wide legged tripod from a more discrete monopod when you arrived at the stairs?
      Also, this property did not have uneven stone floors, so why did you use that tripod? And how visible was the tripod or larger nadir footprint inthe end result or how did you remove the tripod later?

    This was great and super helpful. Thanks so much. Can I ask one question? How does the theta z1 deal with the places in the house where you have a super bright window but inside a room that is not so well lit? Does it create an unwanted look? Or do you have to labor heavily on color/exposure correction?

    Has anyone run into the issue with scan alignments right next to a previous scan not being accepted? For example, I scan a large bathroom, scan-1 would be outside the door, scan-2 would be just inside the door, scan 3 would be 4-5 feet away at the far end of the bathroom. So when I go back by the door where scan-1 was, it keeps giving me a scan alignment error "i am too far". So I end up having to go back by scan-3 and backtrace my way back to the entrance. Is this necessary to do the double scans? I notice on each scan that there is a blue octagon that is highlighted indicating the spot of my last scan, does this mean your next scan must be in the line of sight of your last spot "the one that is highlighted" (does it not recognize previous scan spots you have already done??) or is there a way to manually select a previous scan spot and make that spot active??. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

      Hi Erik, I haven't used the Matterport Pro2 but am happy with the results from the Z1 using the Matterport app, its easy and for the property types here in Cornwall, England (smaller 2/3 bed cottages) it looks good. I am however looking at other options for the tours as Matterport can be expensive and doesn't allow for editing the photos as the app controls all the settings. I have been trialing Cloud Pano, Kuula and 3D Vista and using the Dual Fish Eye plug which gives great results. Should have a video up within the month reviewing these.

    I am a REALTOR and want to add this to my portfolio of services. I have been playing with the Matterport app on my iphone11 pro for about 2 weeks and tried both the simple scan and the complete scan settings. Having serious problems with misalignments in the finished product. I have tried scanning closer together so there is more data to be stitched together but still having trouble. So frustrating.
    So I have now ordered the RicohZ1 camera and am impatiently waiting for it to arrive. Couple of questions; do you think I will have fewer problems with misalignments using the Z1 vs my iPhone? And please can you share any tips on how to avoid or correct getting misalignments in the first place. I noticed a slight misalignment in the kitchen on this tour you did. This is exactly the problem I am having. How do I prevent that?

    • @threetees1428
      @threetees1428  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thank you for your question. I don’t think you will have any problems with misalignment with the Z1. The review was the first one that I did and noticed the alignment after doing the video. I don’t have any issues now, although I probably overdo the number scans as I prefer to take more and then hide what I don’t require. As long as the camera tripod is at the same height you should be fine. Let me know how you get on

    Getting this camera/tripod up the stairs is not as easy at it looks. I purchased a special monopod with feet to get up tricky stair cases. Another issue with this camera is the teeny-tiny buttons that are extermely frustrating to manipulate, especially if you are just starting out. Another is the flare this camera produces. Hi, when editing the tour, do you do that in real time with the client? Or do you do it under the clients account, send it to them and then they get the tour.

    • @threetees1428
      @threetees1428  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, it takes about an hour after you upload to process you then get a link that you can send to the client

      @ Linda - The iPad Air needs a minimum of 2GB of RAM to work with Matterport unfortunately.

    • @threetees1428
      @threetees1428  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Researching more into this, think you would struggle with 2GB, I went with 128GB to future proof the best I can.
