But once victory is in reach, with all obstacles out of the way, he will subconsciously withdrawal himself away from the intended goal only to repeat the same process towards, in vain and with much pain due to his pysche being damaged and rewired at such a young and influential age.

This is actually a very good introduction to how trauma works, specially those generated from abuse and parental betrayal.
His happy and adorable face was also such an important key component. Those who endure these kinds of trauma normally face the following pain: those abusers should never have had the right to rob me of my innocence and childhood for the rest of my life. I could have been a happy child, I could have been a successful person, I could have been so many things if it wasn't for the abuse.
That's exactly how childhood trauma survivors feel, we were pure innocent children, completely unprepared and not *made* to face what was romerselessly forced upon us.

And sometimes it's part of a cycle that is hard to get out of and off of. Not saying it's an excuse, but there are abusers who continue the cycle because it's all they know. Even if they want to be better they don't know how to be.

I JUST HAD A THEORY! It's clear that Pinky has daddy Issues in the reboot, and we all know how supportive and eager he is to help others, especially Brain. What if the reason why he's so supportive is because of the lack of a support system in his life? Even in the experiments, he noted that he couldn't tell the differences between the cheeses. Due to his lack of intellect, he given 'punishments' or just saw the scientist generally disappointed in him and internalized it.
It wouldn't help if his father was also disappointed in him as well. He's so gosh darn supportive of Brain because he never wants Brain to feel ashamed of himself like his father made him feel. The main issue is that this undying encouragement led to Pinky not calling Brain out on all of the morally bad things that he's done so far. This could also be why he takes the abuse from Brain.

They just knew how to play with our emotions. Right in the feels. And man, I just feel so sad for Brain, he suffered since a child, an orphan found to be used for experiments, where he was hurt in who knows how many ways. His line, "I vowed I would be the one in control. Of myself, of my surroundings, of the world!" has a deep meaning, he was always alone until Pinky, he lived in a can on the streets, and the world treated him bad. This childhood trauma is how actual authoritarians are formed. Look at Adolf and how abusive his father was, or as OverSimplified put it "This enraged Adolf's father, who punished him severely". He was enraged until he couldn't because of old age. And that's on top of Adolf not getting into the art school he wanted.

With the Brain destroying the machine after wishing the world a merry Christmas, I saw that as Brain taking out his emotions by breaking apart the machine he was obsessed with when he initially brushed aside Pinky’s distraught reaction after failing to send his letter to Santa. In that moment we see how visibly angry Brain is when he takes the machine apart piece by piece, as well as the surprised reaction from Pinky as he watches Brain dismantle the device he worked so hard on. Sure we get a silly face from Brain, but it’s pretty brief. Then the following scene is the beautiful gift exchange scene where Brain gives Pinky a spellchecker (presumably inspired by the letter he read) and Pinky gives Brain the world.
Though I will agree with the tonal whiplash of following up Brain’s tragic backstory with Pinky’s backstory is the only glaring issue in an otherwise fantastic scene.

In real life that is a tactic used to help people, let someone give you their story then say something humorous to distract them from the pain. This can result in lessening the shock of the tale for both sides and even create a sense of unity.

@@Buglin_Burger7878 but if you’re gonna do an emotional moment that we are supposed to care about, then follow it up with a joke is really not funny to me. That’s honestly a very common tactic in cartoons and I hate it. That’s also the only problem with The Emperor’s New Groove. When Pacha is sad that he is gonna lose his home, he looks really sad, but then they immediately follow it up with a joke. It’s really bad. That’s why I like the scene from Clone High’s season finale, when JFK opens his heart to Joan, they don’t do a joke, like JFK farts or sth. And they make fun of this trope, when JFK tries to tell a joke, but Joan looks at him like “bruh”, and then he backs out. This also happened in Gumball, when Gumball was singing a very sad and emotional song about forgiving, only to say it was about Christmas presents or something. Like c’mon

Before he was in captivity his home was in an old tin can with an image of the earth on the outside. They more or less confirm that him wanting the world is really him subconsciously trying to get his home and his family.

In the original shows in the 1990s, Brain mentions his reason for wanting to take over the world as, "Because I am really smart, I can make the world a better place," or some variation of that (he'll do the best job as world ruler because he is the smartest, etc.), as early as "In the Garden of Mindy" on November 5, 1993 (Animaniacs only started that September). This is the motivation mentioned the most often over the years and keeps coming up. In the "Freakazoid is History!" segment in episode 7 of Freakazoid, he and Pinky do make the world a better place.
Then later, in the Pinky and the Brain spin-off, there's a short called "Leggo My Ego." In it, Brain goes to see Freud, and learns that he was taken from his parents at a young age and tortured. His parents lived in a tin can with a picture of the world on it, and Freud tells Brain he justs wants to go home (or I guess the safety and warmth of home). I don't think this particular scene contradicts either of those on its own, though, but they have given reasons for Brain's mission since the character's very beginning, including a "tragic backstory" one.

It's hit and miss. For one thing it's way too frickin political and it's one sided favoring the far left. A good social satire would hit both sides and leave interpretation to the viewer. But here they just tell you how you should think. Plus the trump and Russia jokes make this season dated because now we know that the Russian bot rumors were totally bogus. And they didn't bring back any of the other characters like the good feathers or Skippy and Slappy. The episodes are all split between the Warners and Pinky and the Brain. So their segments are longer than they should be. And some of the new sketches they brought in aren't really good. Like that one with the girl and the little alien. The art style for it doesn't match at all with the rest of the show and she's just boring to listen to. There's nothing that defines her like Mindy or Elmyra. She's just a little kid reading a script.

    • @pichuflash2769
      @pichuflash2769 3 ปีที่แล้ว +52

@@dustinvance243 I agree the politics seem heavily skewed against Trump. The Russia stuff isn't funny, it never was funny, and in the end, it isn't even true. The scene where they made Trump a cyclops got a laugh out of me though. Mostly because it joked about Trump's personality, and kept it in relatively good taste. To be honest, I didn't expect this reboot to be fair to Trump. I like it regardless. I've just come to accept anyone in the media industry has a deep hatred for the man. I'm disappointed they cut out Slappy and Skippy from the show. I'm also disappointed they cut good feathers. I was never the biggest fan of Elmyra, so that doesn't bother me as much. Overall the reboot has good writing and captures the feeling of the original show pretty well, so I give it credit. The universal hatred towards Trump in the media industry only drives people closer to him. Animaniacs depicting him as a Russian pawn or a fat cyclops won't change anyone's mind about him. I seen their parody of Fox News (more specifically Tucker Carlson) by the way, and they totally, completely missed the mark. It didn't resemble his show at all, the voice actor for him didn't sound like him, and the jokes were run of the mill "annoy the enemy of the episode with nonsense" kind of humor. You need to intimately know the subject you're parodying for it to be funny. They obviously never watched Tucker Carlson.

Well, the original Animanics was always a parody of the events for entertainments and insulting, so is Reboot Animanics for 2020.
However, Animanics in general is similar with previous Warner Bros cartoons under Warner Bros, such as Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania, etc.
Characters like Bugs Bunny, Buster Bunny, Warner Siblings and others are working at the studio for money (or free) and business.
Animanics is about the scripts, actors and stages, following by Looney Tunes, Tiny Toon Adventures, etc.
Also, any cartoons like Looney Tunes, Animanics, etc are based on the real life; they want to give you some hints, tips, secrets, facts about what happens and how bad / how good the society is including the corruptions of the world. They want to express their issues to you with some changes, whether it is funny or not. It’s mixed, obvious or not.
But hey, it is the cartoon. It’s meant to be entertainment! It’s the arts! Be funny, be enjoying or be opposite!
I like their messages and dialogues as well as arts.

Well, those Squirrels, Good Feathers the Pigeons and others - They were there in the episode but could not be able to perform besides the animations because of other original voices were not coming back.
So, some original voices did done for Season 1.
Some rumors said few of original characters with the voices will do some performs for Season 2 next year.
Since this is the Reboot, it’s likely getting new characters like today, like new CEO (female), a muscle man, a parody of Animanics in Russia (verison) with fake Warner siblings, fake Hello Nurse, (etc)and others.
Hello Nurse might be changed to Goodbye Nurse.
I dunno if gonna have the same body of Hello Nurse.
The company feels needed to change to be ‘more appropriate’ because of 2020 and 2020’s standards.
But hey, this Reboot is really good. I’m enjoying it. I’m looking forwards in 2021 for Season 2.
      Maybe with 13 episodes again.

Without knowing what the Brain thinks, imagine being a torture victim yourself and recognizing the signs. Do you allow Brain to pursue power and influence out of solidarity? Or, because you know your own dark thoughts, thoughts you would never act on, but of course feel you could, do you stop or impede the Brain?
