- Diggle Diaries: An attempt to film all daylight running freight and interesting workings from Diggle Junction. Situated on the picturesque Trans-Pennine, Manchester to Huddersfield and Leeds route, Diggle Jn lies at the top of a steep incline leading into Standedge Tunnel. Providing beautiful scenery, varied freight and trains working hard up the hill, there aren’t many better places for a bit of trainspotting.

David Bellamy hiding in the jungle. Another great video. Thanks Luke.
Had to look that one up mate haha nice one 😂
Why is this channel such a success?....it's all down to YOU my friend. You are such a charismatic chap, and your enthusiasm is totally infectious as is the attention to detail. I LOVE it ❤
Great video.
Is the loop at Diggle still in use?
Thank you very much Anna, that really means a tonne. Really appreciate the support 👍🏻
It used to be used semi-regularly but over the last 6 months or so has dried up to nothing.
I keep meaning to say this but I really like the way Luke makes the effort to introduce stuff properly - in the world - it would be SO easy to VO it but it gives this channel a real personality and I think he deserves a lot of props for that - and a HUZZAH!
Thanks Luke!
Thank you very much mate that means an awful lot. Still a bit strange doing bits to camera but it’s given me the chance to add some personality to the channel like you say which goes a long way. Cheers Dizzy.
always a great watch do like the 68s wish they would bring them back
Me too mate, miss hearing them roar up our hills! And to think they’re just sitting in Longsight and Long Marston doing naff all still being paid for!
You need to get the hedge trimmer out! keep your path looking good.😂😂
Haha I know it’s a nightmare! Get stung every time I try to record there lol.
Some classy looking stuff there Luke, thank you!
Thanks a lot mate 👍🏻
Another good one, Luke. Well up to standard.👍👍
Thanks a lot pal 👍🏻
You videos are always a good watch. Surprised to see trains still going to / from Ferrybridge C PS, I remember standing at the end of the street and watching the cooling towers being blown up before I moved up North in 2020.
I thought the same mate, didn’t think there was anything left over there. I’ve heard from multiple people it was a trial to see if the working was viable for future; fingers crossed 🤞
Another really interesting video. Many thanks for posting.
Cheers Kevin, glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Nice one Luke, but I thought it was an episode of Summerwatch when it started! 🤣 Looking forward to Tamworth 24 and maybe I can come and say hi. Look forward to learn when it will be? It is great the guys fill in the time when you are on holiday. Appreciate it.
Haha always like to surprise you mate. Next episode is about wildlife 😂 I’ll announce when I’ll be in Tamworth as soon as I know, got a load on atm and want to go when there’s some good stuff booked.
Brilliant mate. Great watch as always, Luke.
Nice one mate, need to get over there to see you again soon 👍🏻 hope you’re doing well.
@DiggleJunction yeah no worries mate, be great to meet up again.
As per premier league video thx fella .!!!👏👍👏👍
Nice one mate, appreciated as always 👍🏻🥃
Great video
Thanks mate 👍🏻
Another great video Luke, loved the variety in this one. Good to see Blue Peter.
Cheers Geoff, yeah had to go over to see Blue Peter, not seen her since I was a kid at the EWS Class 66 launch!!
Yikes Diggle Seems tey Nevver Heared Of Mowing Alongside The Tracks 😅 Supper Video Again Cheers From Netherlands
Thanks as always mate, glad you enjoyed this one 👍🏻
Didn't know you could get a loco in the man flu stadium 😂
Haha first time I’ve seen anything going there. Must have been a test run to the container yard.
These privately owned Locos are bling 💍
A friend of mine was a driver so I drove Thunderer from Salisbury to Exeter back in the late 70s 👍
Wow that must have been an incredible experience Mike!
Another great video Luke.A big thumbs up to will & josh looking forward to 24 hours at Tamworth . But i think you need to get your skates on because by the time you recorded that you will be on7000 subscribers.Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
Thanks a lot mate. Determined to get the 5 and 6k videos done before we reach 7. Don’t think I’ve been on time since 2k haha.
I thought 'he has gone all David Attenborough' at the start😂
Haha I was tempted to put an Attenborough voice on for that one 😂
Great stuff again Luke - hope there were no adders in that wilderness! Have to say the two ''Westerns'' were my favourite - both stunning looking locos! Blue Peter aint bad either! Lots of great locos though! Looking forward to the next one!
Cheers mate, yeah a great mix this month with all the local galas going on. Definitely have a soft spot for the red 69 having seen it getting painted.
Jeez Luke that needs Trimming lol
Need waders to get through that lot these days!
Really smart and cunning way of filming! Not a lot of zooming and/or panning, instead letting us see the whole train from one angle. Cheers!
Thanks mate, always glad to get comments like this as that’s all a concerted effort to do so and build a nice steady shot. Appreciate it!
Nice work as per! I’m up in South Yorkshire next week so looking forward to seeing & filming all the great variety the North has to offer.
Thanks a lot mate. Long way from home for you, hope you manage to get some good catches/shots.
@@DiggleJunction yes bud. Visiting family up here for the week. But whilst they work I’ll be out filming. I was in York yesterday, Doncaster today and hopefully across to Stockport on Friday 🤞
Thanks a lot, as always Luke.
Cheers John, much appreciated as ever!
Thanks Luke.😂
Cheers Ste 👍🏻
Thanks Luke, another nice one.
Cheers Bill 👍🏻 hope the eyes back to normal.
Another great video Luke! Thank you 🙂
Thanks as always Ruth, really glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
Plenty ok variety again Luke 👍
Cheers Andrew 👍🏻
May be able to meet you at tamworth depending on what day you go! Am trying to find somewhere to go out for the day and when I heard you were going tamworth I decided why not!
I’ll put up a vid as soon as I have a date mate, got a lot on atm and want to do a day with some special stuff booked. It’s a great day of spotting 👍🏻
Hoofin vid mate spot on 👍
Thanks a lot Chris, much appreciated 👍🏻
Great footage of the WVR 50/37 comvoy. I had a cab ride in 50021 during the KWVR gala. Great video as always. Have you tried the bridge at Standedge again after your climb last August?
That must have been an awesome experience mate. I’ve been only managed to get up there once or twice this year the weathers been that bad! You’re not gonna catch me climbing up there when it’s all wet and slippery lol.
What date you doing Tamworth Mate
Not 100% sure yet mate, I’ve got a tonne on and I want to make sure there’s something special to film but I’ll put out a video as soon as I have a date.
Did you go and see the 57 returning from old dalby on thursday?
Sure did mate, will be in the next Diggle Diaries 👍🏻
Hello
Hi mate 👍🏻
