    The buckling and slight warping of the metal surface is called "oilcanning". And I agree, it looks spectacular on this model inside andbout. May I draw attention to the fact that every section of the seat cushions is shaped slightly irregular and different from each other, which is very realistic due to their pliable material. It takes a true modelling artist to even think of that. A big shoutout to whoever built this thing!!! And then the pbr surface of the dash top, I tell you, this guy is (or these guys are) good...!!!

    As a Swift owner, this simulation is amazing. The A and B models have significant differences. Different cowl, 85HP on the A, 125 on the B. There is also differences on the Globe Swift vs the Temco Swift. (Same airplane different production facilities.)

    A beautiful morning: Start the coffee maker, fire up the pewter, delete the junk emails, read any important emails, check today's weather (currently 103 degrees in Las Vegas) retrieve the first cup of java, click on latest AvAngel video, preemptively hit the like button, sit back and enjoy. 👍🏽Given!

    Nice review, AvAngel - well done.
    Speaking of which: I'm thinking the Electra has been updated since your last review. Lots of stuff you pointed out appear different now. I've picked up one, you see.
    Pity about the heatwave over there in Europe, though here in Africa it's like a stroll through the park. We practically sit astride the sun all year round, though it's the wet season now; yet it can be as balmy as a ships boiler room during "full steam ahead". Wish you guys in Europe well, all the same.

    • @bwc1976
      @bwc1976 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad to hear they've fixed the Electra! A little late though, as I've already bought the Beech 18 which scratches basically the same itches that the Electra would have.

    • @SkyborneVisions
      @SkyborneVisions 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The electra is fixed? Not that I've seen (other than the steps)... meanwhile the texturing and systems and flight model are the worst I've seen... autopilot still doesn't work... which is a real shame as I was hoping to use it to demonstrate a flight from Lae to Howland with celestial navigation...

  • @Jigsaw407

    Looks like a nice aircraft! Speaking of heat: I feel you! As I sit here watching your video, the thermometer on my desk says 33.2 C° (91,8 F°). I guess that's alright, considering that the forecast promised 40 C° (104 F°) outside.

    I agree about the sharp roof profile being odd. I think it is the windscreen that is too flat. The real swift bulges out a little. Great review as usual Av hope it cools off, I sympathise all the way from Aus.😊

    • @jedswift
      @jedswift 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The original windscreen is two parts, left and right, that is a flat wrap (2-D bend. There is a single piece aftermarket windscreen without the center support that is a blown part. Hard to say about the exact angles and proportions.

    @gorillachinchilla1668 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Another great review. Thank you!

  • @jedswift
    @jedswift 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The GC-1A had a different cowling than shown. There is no fuel filler on the right wing, cross-feeds from the left. Rust on the gear, other than the bolts is impossible as all the parts are aluminum or chrome. The ivory bakelite panel trim is incomplete. Reasonable on the lower panel, but there are addition pieces on the top of the glareshield that wraps over the top center edge of the instrument panel. There is a "engine turned" aluminum center panel with the airspeed, tachometer and altimeter for the center panel that includes a set of small gauges below for fuel pressure, oil pressure, oil temperature, and ampere output from the generator. The odd little red handle should be a crank, used to manually extend the landing gear if the hydraulic system fails. I regularly cruised my B model with an O-300 (145 hp) at 17,500 pressure altitude and flew it to over 20,000 density altitude. There is no rudder trim. The instrumentation is odd, not original, but the gear warning lights look about right. Leave the boost pump on until you have adequate altitude to recover from a engine driven pump failure (it's a Ford Model A unit). Opening a widow is not subtle, there is a definite organ piping. The fuzzy dice have to go! They move incorrectly, should remain aligned with the internal vertical for a coordinated turn. Cute video non the less!

      @@AvAngel At this point in time, there are very few that are still even remotely stock, most have some modifications including updated instrument panels, control sticks, bigger engines (O and IO-360's, both Continental and Lycoming) with constant speed propellers, sliding bubble canopies, auxilary fuel tanks, wing slots removed etc. etc.

    I don't know what it is about 50s design - it's just so appealing. Not just aircraft, but cars too. Maybe it's because designers dared/were allowed to be a little bit quirky. That often results in things becoming more interesting to look at I think.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was the scifi inspirations creeping in post war, this was obviously designed before then, but it clearly got upgrades and influences as time went forwards, imagine if it had been produced in 40, vs what it was post war.

    Great they added a engine volume knob. Hope they include this feature in all their other planes to make them flyable and once they get that loopy engine sound fix in the Chippie. Thanks for showing. Maybe I'll start buying AH planes again in the future once they get those engine sound ok what they are not on any plane yet till this one.

    The fluffy dice as 'Modern AHI' is hilarious - Im thinking its attributed to the developer's sense of humor - its not to be an actual AHI.

      In the original AH model for FSX/P3D this switch activated a very simple autopilot panel on the far right side below the dashboard. It could hold the current track and the current altitude. Which made it a nice touring plane for longer flights on the computer. I am a bit disappointed that even this very simple autopilot in the Swift was "lost" during the conversion from FSX/P3D to MSFS. But I was expecting it after the C140. Which had lost much more functionality on the way from FSX/P3D to MSFS.

    • @Edam-Channel

      In real life the fluffy dice would only swing left/right in an uncoordinated turn. They should actually work more like a slip indicator.

On the Globe Swift, Do you know what that last switch on the right does, it’s not in the manual and I can’t find any info on it. On a google search, seems like some of those profiles might be varied as far as the sharpness goes. I wonder if they changed it a bit over the years that it was manufactured. I’m surprised that an Aeroplane Heaven product looks like an actual fun plane and might be willing to buy this one - based on this review, and what my funds will allow.
