  • We sail to Muiden and Edam, do some testing with our Westerly Centaur. 'Bijliggen' and reefing.
First we wanted to sail arround Holland, buit the windforecast was bad. So we decided to visit some other places along the coast of Lake IJssel and Markermeer. Next year we plan to do the 'Rondje Noord Holland'. We have to cross a part of the North Sea so the tide and the wind has to be right.
We visit the Royal Dutch Sailing and Rowing Society 1847, and have a look at the King's Yacht.
at 7.32 we try to hold position (bijliggen in Dutch).
Music Musopen, Rachmanikof symphony no 2.

I'm happy for Arne. After all the hard work he put into restoring the boat, he seems so content when he is sailing it. Hope he has many good years with it.

Please do another tour of your boat now that she is looking so spiffy and put together. Great job on giving her love and another chance at adventure.

Glad to see your putting some kilometers under the keel! It looks like a pretty big cockpit for the size of boat. Origo stoves are awesome. For next year look at a proper foul weather jacket. They are usually bright colors in case you fall overboard your easier to spot. That dark jacket would make it very difficult to see you. Also a set of comfortable auto-inflating life jackets are a very worth while investment. You've had a busy first year and congratulations on some nice work and sailing.

Miles, nautical miles. Also 1knot = 1 nautical mile per 1 hour. 1nautical mile equal to 1.852 km/hr

Heb een tour gedaan aan het Muiderslot rond 1975. Toen had ik nog een zeilboot (Shark 24) hier in Canada.

Hey. Just getting started to be interested in sailing. Nice videos. I enjoyed them very much.
Why you remove the flag in the harbour?
    Greetings from Germany

It is the flag etiquette in this harbour. It is "royal sailing and rowing club" and they like their traditions. Group pressure does the rest.🙂 And it is mentioned in their rules for visitors. In the ANWB wsteralmanac is a chapter 'flag etiquette' , fun to read. It says you should ask the harbourmaster about the flag etiquette in when you visit a harbour.
