    For the camshaft take off the bolts thT have the lobes pressing down on the valves last. Just got a little on each side until the tension is released. Also number your valve caps so if anything happens you know exactly where it came from. You don't want to mix them since they have different thicknesses.

    Do you need to take the power steering bracket off?
    The place I am getting my head gasket replaced at is trying to tell me that they need to take it off it put it back together. Although they didnt need to take it off to take the head apart.

    but why are you unscrewing the wrong bat? The bolts are not for Torex T55! Bolts for spline m12!! Otherwise, the video is excellent. (translate)

    Hey bro few questions as I’m working on this project right now.
    Do you know which size the head bolts are. The look like inverted star sockets?
    Also, should I remove the valve spring covers when taking to the machine shop? I’m not going to do a full rebuild and remove valves.

    • @seanhaight3939
      @seanhaight3939  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont know the size off the top of my head but I mention it in the video. I know its a torx bit. You can get the husky kit at home depot for like $20 with every size.
      You can leave the caps on the valves if you want but make sure the machine shop covers the head with plastic wrap so none of the metal shavings go into the top of the cylinder head. You can try and put the black valve cover back on the cylinder head and see if they can cut it like that. If metal shavings get into your valve cover, youll destroy the engine. Good luck

    A question friend, 0.05 thousandths of twist in the block is bad or is it acceptable?

    Hey what’s up
    Some times my genny burns oil through the exhaust, I checked the turbo and is all good
    you the valves or piston rings are bad?

    • @seanhaight3939
      @seanhaight3939  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah if its burning oil then its either the valve seals, piston rings, or turbo seals like you said. If your gen has higher mileage then its probably just normal worn out parts. You might have to do a leak down pressure test in each cylinder to check the piston rings and valve seals. Im not sure how to test the turbo seals but thats a good possibility as well. You can check the spark plugs to see if they are dark and have burnt oil on them to see if the oil is burning in the cylinder chamber or if its burning in the exhaust at the hot side of the turbo. Also see if there is oil leaking into your air intake pipes to see if the cold side of the turbo is leaking. If you cant find anything then maybe you should just drive it as is until it blows and you can rebuild everything at that time, to be more cost effective.

    2012 Hyundai Genesis 2.0T. I have the p0011 code show up. What does this mean? Camshaft timing position I believe. What’s the best route to go when fixing this engine?

    How long did the head gasket last? I'm in the middle of rebuilding a Theta II turbo out of a Sonata and wondering how well the sandpaper method works on cleaning the top of the block and the cylinder head.

    How tf did you get the crankshaft bolt off you used to line up the crankshaft dot??

    • @seanhaight3939
      @seanhaight3939  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Disconnect the radiator mounts so you can move it and give you more space. Impact the bolt off and use a pulley remover if the crank wheel is stuck

      @@seanhaight3939 thank you for replying back! I ended up getting it off. Now my concern lies where I did a full spin cycle with the chain on and now my links don’t match with the dots.

  • @Noonanator91

    Did you check the valve clearances? You can change the camshaft followers to shim the clearance into spec.

    • @seanhaight3939
      @seanhaight3939  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      More than likely your chain has stretched too much or it skipped a tooth. Try resetting the codes and see if it comes back.

      As well as factory or better assuming it was done properly, you can also go with better internals to make it better than factory
