When you run it in full circle mode, it's a good idea to make sure the stop arm is pushed to the left so the impact arm is not restricted. This will make it shoot farther.

I will add though that you can move that flip arm quite easily if you just pull up on the sprinkler head and then flip that little arm. It’s designed to push up when the water starts coming through it, from the pressure of the water. I found that out by trial and error myself.

Went and bought springs from ACE Hardware, but it's hard for me to put it on without bending/destroying the new spring. I really loved for the short while it worked. Wish I could manage to put the replacement spring on, so I could make more use out of it.
The most significant problem with the Melnor's is the fact that they just do not last very long. Something will eventually break causing the entire sprinkler to be useless. On the #9610 Tri-pod the adjusters that allow you do limited or 360Deg. wear out very quickly, again rendering the sprinkler useless unless you buy a new head - AND good luck on finding that new head - none of the major hardware chains carry them forcing you to buy a new sprinkler - HOW CONVENIENT!

What is the pressure of the water coming in to propel full effect of the sprinkler. 'cos I bought this and used 1hp submissive pump from a bore-hole and not getting desired effect. Tnks Love this.
I honestly don’t know the output pressure. The hose in this video was attached to the house’s outside spigot and just used whatever water pressure that provided.
I'm wondering the same thing. Today I hooked it up to my sump pumps hose as well and right now I don't see anything coming out from it (looking fom my window. It's not raining super hard but I might need to wait until rain starts coming down more
I have Problems with this breaking at the Three Screws of Plastic is WEAK.. should be Made of Metal ... if a wind blows the Tripod,, the leggs, break at the Plastic by the Sprinkler Head ........... Make a steal strap to keep make it stronger
Have this sprinkler. The stops don't work very well at keeping the pattern. It overruns the stops with each pass and eventually sprays the house. Have to go out and adjust the stops every couple minutes.
Sorry to hear you're having that trouble. Maybe your unit is faulty? Perhaps you can take it back to the store where you purchased it and exchange for another unit?

Yes, you are correct, Kennynva. The screw can be tightened/loosened to adjust the flow of water and you can also adjust spray range using the shield/guard thing. Pattern is adjusted using the two stops.
Can you tell me why mine will not rotate after just a couple days of use? It gets stuck in one location, or if it happens to pass that then it will not return when it reaches the end of the rotation.
Has anybody had issues with the the sprinkler head not wanting to switch directions? Context:this model got damaged and I filed warranty claim, so they sent me the new one but this one seems to struggle at times switching directions
It would have been helpful if you at least mentioned an additional adjustment - there is a small horizontal thumbscrew associated with the deflector, I think. Melnor site has no mention. Why don't you?

I simply put together this video to try and help others make a decision about whether or not they want to get the product, and, in doing so, talked about the features that with which I was familiar. Also, I am in no way connected with Melnor, so have no idea why you don't see anything on their site referencing the screw adjuster.

You have to snap the lever all the way down so that it hits the two stops; otherwise, it'll just keep doing the full 360! Check out the part of my video starting at 1:01 for some guidance.

Oh, no! I’d suggest reaching out to Melnor about getting a replacement (if you haven’t already done so).
MelNor was excellent on warranty replacement.

Is there a video on how to modify the stream? What if you have less than a 85ft diameter? What if you want a different distribution of water?
I recommend reaching out to the product manufacturer for more information as I made this video for fun several years ago.
