Nah Cell coming back is actually a really good writing choice. The cell saga heavily deals with the characters flaws and one of them is their over reliance on goku’s strength and just him in general. So Cell coming back is to in a way punish the characters for their over reliance on him. Gohan killing Cell is to show how they don’t need to rely on Goku anymore and that Goku’s biggest strength wasn’t his power, but the hope and motivation he gave others
Goku dying is kinda goofy and forced ngl. He teleported to kaio's planet for some reason but he didn't think about grabbing them all and teleporting back to earth, he just stood there and died lol
I don’t think goku had to die to get that point across. He could’ve just lost the fight against cell for the same effect. I’m sure his death was forced for the sake of pushing the story to end with a new protagonist, his son. That is until they brought him back to life again. Plus Cells nucleus excuse is just lame.
Dude, the highlight of the Buu saga was Mr. Satan becoming a true hero and having to play permanent babysitter as a result of his lying about the Cell games.
I really liked videl and gohans relationship in buu saga. For me at least it felt like the most organic and properly paced relationships of all of the ones toriyama wrote. Actually the whole saiyaman arc would have been neat as its own like spinoff without the buu saga lol
Those opening hate comments you received...can relate. I seriously wonder if some of these ppl are even real or are that lacking in the self-aware department. Keep up the awesome work.
Hey bro I’ve been watching your channel recently and I just wanted to say I love the analysis on all your videos! Whether I agree or disagree, I think you articulate your points very well and always bring a fresh perspective. I also appreciate how you don’t care what the popular vote might be, you stay true to you! Keep going ‼️
Big tune you genuinely never miss bro. This video along with every other dragon ball analysis never fails to fill me with newfound appreciation for this franchise and the nuances of its story despite the flaws. The haters must be blind because even your criticisms make me appreciate dragon ball that much more. Can't wait for the next vid. 🙏
The reason Vegeta humbling himself after Goku passed is overlooked is because it went absolutely nowhere. Take the manga for example. Vegeta: “I’ll never fight again”. Less than half a volume later, Vegeta to Gohan: “never slack off training in times of peace.” Vegeta never actually STOPPED fighting or training. That makes his comments obsolete. He scolded Gohan for not training in order to be ready to fight when needed. His entire arc to that point got killed as soon as the Boo arc started and he reverted back to a typical Saiyan.
@@teeboz6237 Well, he was always winging it hahahaha his own words, not mine. But you can tell that he at least had a vision of sorts with previous arcs. The Buu Saga does feel aimless.
for me (biggest strength): Saiyan saga: Piccolo's redemption and his relationship with gohan Frieza Saga: SSJ1 Cell Saga: trunk's story in general Buu Saga: Vegeta's final atonment
Saiyan saga: Nappa Namek saga: multiple story lines Cell saga: character growths and closing character arcs Buu saga: Hercule satan and the spirit bomb
Don't listen the guys babblering shit on videos pal. The way you're saying bad or good things about an art is not hate, it's criticism and criticism based on your opinion. It's always interesting to see a diferent pov of something and people need to grow a bit emotionally when it comes to this. Anyways, good video pal
Not doing anything with Nappa and mainly Raditz (the literal MCs BROTHER FFS) is one of DragonBalls greatest fumbles in my opinion. Raditz is one of the coolest characters and could have been such a sick long term addition to the series
To me, in order: Saiyan saga has the best writing and use of characters (Krilin shines my goat 🗣️) Freeza saga has The Best Final Fight and climax, and also the best antagonist period. Cell Saga has the best emotional payoffs and endings to the cast, also thanks to some narrative freedom Toriyama took, the speculations about powers, what ifs, timelines etc. are ENDLESS. We could talk about the Cell saga for 1000 years and never grow tired of it! Truly the most entertaining. The Buu Saga has all the cool shit, aa terrifying bubblegum toddler as the supreme evil, and the final genkidama, what’s not to love!
What’s not to love about the Boo arc? The completely off pacing, the pivoting from Boo to Boo (9 versions in total), the a$$pull powerups, the assassination of Kaioshin’s character and decision making skills almost straight after being introduced as the Supreme god of the verse, Vegeta having decades of reversion in character within a day only to do another 180 almost straight after, Goten and Trunks being brought in as some crazy prodigies only to be sidelined after not getting a single win that mattered, Gohan becoming ultimate only to once again revert to a prideful f00l after not learning that that’s what got Goku offed before and then getting sidelined AGAIN….should I continue? Lol.
Goku defeating Kid Buu with the spirit bomb goes against your take about reviving Goku being the worst thing of the Buu saga. If Goku were never resurrected, he wouldn't have killed Kid Buu, like he didn't kill Majin Buu while being a SSJ3 because the dead shouldn't concern about the living people's problems
i think the cell saga ends like that cus it needed to end on a good note, or at least akira toriyama wanted it to be like that, gohan father-son kamehameha end with gohan smiling, if goku just died like that and we were forced to just process that raw it would feel sad, which is way more dramatic but dbz is not a drama like that, i think it was fine but i understand that super perfect cell was just a means to an end so that we could have that ending and lacks weight
Tune, never think that having critical thought and criticisms of something you love makes you a hater. Your previous vids critiquing Dragon Ball were good and it was clear how passionate about the series you are. Keep up the good work mate!
For me, the best part of the Saiyan saga were the character writing. The development that Gohan and Piccolo go through is the core of that arc and it’s done beautifully. The training arcs of both Goku and Gohan highlight their characters and even the earthlings shine since every action they take in the fight against the saiyans is in character for them.
"Kakarot, how many times have you saved Earth before?" "Huh, I think I lost account." "Well, its time for the Earthlings to take responsibility for their planet." And "You have beaten us, Mister Satan!"
I don’t know if you are going to read this but don’t listen to the haters I love Dragonball from the original to super but there can be some flaws of every arc don’t mean it’s terrible it just there some issues that are known but people need to understand this there’s no such thing as a perfect anime all anime can have some flaws don’t mean it’s terrible stop getting mad when someone gives an opinion, and again I love your channel man, your videos are awesome keep it up man 💯
The people getting so incredibly angry about you criticizing their beloved franchise are so weird 😭 can’t complain tho since we’re getting more content out of it

Mr. Satan, Fat Buu, Majin Vegeta, there is so many good/great things in the Buu saga that he decided not to mention...
I really liked videl and gohans relationship in buu saga. For me at least it felt like the most organic and properly paced relationships of all of the ones toriyama wrote. Actually the whole saiyaman arc would have been neat as its own like spinoff without the buu saga lol

You have the best Dragon Ball takes I've ever heard from anyone in a video! (And that includes, "But there is the Buu Saga. I had to talk about it."😄)

Do a positive video on GT & Super 😂😂
😂
Fr dude 😭😭
Right lol this is simple. Make him dig deep within
lol nahh I fw his video editing and style but I just don’t fw his takes so I don’t usually watch him anymore
Torishima stopped supervising Toriyama’s story at the end of the Cell saga and it shows…
Well that is when Toriyama said he started winging it week to week lol. Hence why there are 9 different versions of Boo and like 4 “final battles”.

Great video man! I really like the Nappa pick for the saiyan saga
Saiyan saga: Nappa
Namek saga: multiple story lines
Cell saga: character growths and closing character arcs
Buu saga: Hercule satan and the spirit bomb
Ultimate gohan was tuff too you can’t lie
Nappa shaves his hair because it is so nappy 😂😂😂
Great video, I’d say the best thing about buu arc was arguably vegetas full redemption

Well done Big Tune. I approve of this one. The Nappa take was quite intriguing. This pleases the heavy hitters.

Freiza saga is goated
Funny how Vegeta became completely reckless further into the series
I guess you could the freeza saga is dy-namek. Am I right?

vegeta was the best part of the frieza/namek saga for me.... he was highkey the main character
Also of the Buu saga: his character development and redemption arc really standed out there as one of the biggest strength in this saga...

got it I’ll keep that in mind

Ohh stop being a butterfly about it.
ppl cant differenciate hate from criticism
My favourite part of the whole series is when it was Piccolo having to knock some sense in Goku's head about Gohan
5:31 i respect your perspective, however the cell saga > Frieza saga
How??? Please explain!
@ from my perspective better story telling and scope
Re-upload?
No, brand new
