Sir, I never knew that chemistry can actually make sense but this made me realize how interesting it can be and how wrong we receive an information. I somehow always manage to fail my chemistry, bio, and physics quizzes, and it's probably because I never thought my brain was smart enough to handle this so I never bothered with studying. I literally hated chemistry since day one, but the more I watch your videos the more I want to learn chemistry and explain it to people just the way you do. Thank you so much for this!
There are not enough words to express my gratitude. I'm a straight A college student majoring in Biology. I LOVE Science, Yet my introductory chemistry class was about to undo all of that. I felt like there was no chance I would ever make it and almost dropped the class (greatly delaying graduation) because I knew that I could likely learn better from another professor. Your videos helped me bring my grade from a C to an A thus saving my 4.0 from certain destruction and allowing me to feel good about continuing with the course. Thanks for doing what you do.
Hey everyone, I'm here to help. If you have any questions or just want to learn more, click on the link in the description above. It'll take you to a page where you can ask me questions.
I'm happy to answer this question. Just do me a favor and ask it by clicking on the link in the video description above (vsepr.org); it will take you to a page where you can ask and answer questions.
You are my hero, i'm in college an i get chemistry for the firtst time.. I'm absolutely not on the level that i'm suposed to have and your video's truely explain all of my questions. Thank you very much! You make it all clear to me even though i'm from belgium.
I just wanted to let you know that I'm homeschooling my kid (Asperger's) and you're his chemistry teacher. Hitting you up with a tutoring payment next paycheck.
I am so glad I found these videos! I can't stop watching them and you make everything so easy to follow. One of the best learning series yet. I watched others and they are not nearly as clear. Great teaching!
Tyler, you literally saved my GPA! I went back to college but had only taken biology in high school and your explanation and analogies helped me wrap my head around it! Thank you so much!
I am 45 but have developed my interest in chemistry after so many years and really like your videos. . in college days it was more about getting good grades then understanding the subject ..
OMG this video is a life saver perfectly executed to the T , everything was understood and made sense. Just started grade 11 CHEM and almost had a heart attack when i didnt know what was being said , but this right here is a complete GEM. Thank you so much
Sir, I’m in shock! So I NEVER write reviews but I will have to one this one. Thank you for this explanatory video of how to calculate Weighted Average. Thank you!
this was so helpful. I really like the way how you go into so much detail with every step. it's impossible not to understand. you are an awesome teacher!
Fantastic video. Very thorough, logical, well put-together step by step instruction with clear explanations. Thank you for your careful consideration, you've earned a subscriber!
i just love how humble you are ind your videos. and these really helped me understand and change my perspective in chemistry. i am starting to like it with your teaching. thank you very much.
oh my god...! u r such a good teacher my teacher is so bad..she doesnt clarify my doubts..but now am happy that u solved my problem thanx a lot..!! thnx once again u have a creative mind...!
Mr De Witt you are a God send, I am having such a hard time in my chemistry class, I failed my first exam with a 60, till I find you. Thank you soooooooooooooo much, God Bless you
Hello, I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to put together thees videos. My class moves pretty fast and you have helped me understand this concept.
hi...am just starting my degree in biology but am doing chemistry too..wow this man is great...has really helped me to Catch up in basic environmental chemistry.
WOW, this is too good. Explaining Mass which is basically weight and showing how it's weighed to get the numbers I don't care about. Excellent analogy. Yay internet. I'm subscribing to Tyler DeWitts videos right now.
Tyler, you could teach middle school Chemistry, your explanations are so clear and engaging. However, by publishing your videos, you can reach so many more students than just 25-50 in one semester/school year. I always struggled with the "weighted average" of the amu concept until now., thanks to the "Lemona" analogy. I will be recommending your videos to the science teachers I know. Keep up the good work!
I don't know if this might help people but working out the "regular average" or (4000 + 5000)/2 = 4500 is actually just a different version of 4000 x (0.5) + (5000 x 0.5) = 4500. Both equations are saying there are 50% of lemona GX and lemona GXL.
THANK U SOO MUCH , u were really helpful , and my all confusion has cleared by watching this video I wish if u would our chem professor then we would have no need to cram chem
This video was awesome!! Thank you Tyler DeWitt!! You explained atomic mass and its calculations so I could understand it. I am in college Chemistry and it is very overwhelming to me. I saved your link to all of your Chemistry videos!! Thanks again!!
great video but you did not explain the concept of carbon 12 isotop as base for calculating relative atomic mass. It says 1/12 of C-12 = 1 amu. It is very confusing. Did you have a video on that ?
u are my world's best teacher I have seen...I really love the way u present ...each topics...I'm building up my confidence with ur videos...I lv u...sir....and I'm thank full to u...so much....💙💙💖💖
Very nice teaching sir !!! U are really a best teacher ....books doesn't make these things so much interesting ...& because of u ..I m really interested to study chemistry ...thanx sir ...& pls upload more for physics &chemistry ....
Hi Tyler, You teach wonderfully............. Watching your videos has really made my understanding of chemistry better....... I wished the teachers in my college thought in such a way Thank you for your hard work i really appreciate it. :D
Your explanation made chemistry easier. And I would like to be a chemist in the future because of your explanation which made chemistry easier for me !!
who else trying to cop one of them gxl lemonas. Been one of my dream cars for as long as I can remember, they even went as far to replace the platinum wheels with fidget spinners and that to me is perfection
What is the largest mass that a water molecule (expressed in atomic mass units) could having using other isotopes? Please show me how you came up with that answer! Thanks in advance
This is neat. I remember that the first time I learned about weighted averages, it was absolutely boggling and incomprehensible. If only youtube had existed when I was a student!
Professor DeWitt. Question: from where do you take the % number, is the number listed in the periodic table? How I know what elements belong to the same family?
I have my mock GCSE triple science exam tomorrow and this has helped me a ton, I was wondering if you’re going to ever do videos about moles, titrations, oxerdation and reduction and atom economy and all that??
I wish you were my chemistry professor. You deserve my tuition money, not the joke who's teaching my class right now.
omgitzelle that’s not nice
damn u graduated
He did the same for me.
@@williamtran9953 Lmao are you the professor?
MY TEACHER SUCKS TOO

Hey can You please tell me How do we know exact number of electron, proton, neutron, and exact atomic mass when we cant even see atom?
I can't see the discription sir
I'm happy to answer this question. Just do me a favor and ask it by clicking on the link in the video description above (vsepr.org); it will take you to a page where you can ask and answer questions.
I feel like I have the worst chemistry professor when I can't understand something as simple as this in class.
Exactly its not the material that hard, its how teachers/professors explain it. Except for Quantum mechanics lmao
Kaust Shroff quantum mechanics are the easiest :p
Anas Omar for douchebags
SARMANTINE lol fuck off pls ,, they are the easiest in whole chemistry , although i suck at chemistry
