I've been dyeing for about 6 years, but your videos have inspired me to try some new techniques that will likely be waaaay more efficient. Most of my colorways are 3-4 colors...I love the way you use so many. I did some speckling in my "early" days, but I think your use of a small strainer is way better than the toothbrush I used. I just might have to add some back in. Thanks for sharing. :)
Let me know what you think of this video and what other hand dyed yarn related content you would like to see. This will help me plan future videos. Thanks again for watching.
Thank you for sharing your job! You're one of the few indie dyeir that upload "expertise" contents. I'm starting to dye with food colorings and every information will be precious to me. You have a new (happy) subscriber :) Hi from Italy!
Needs less music, more voice over to tell your audience what your process is and if you would do things differently next time. Apply videos to different sort of learning styles.
Hello from Barrie! Love your videos! I am just learning to dye yarn and have taken a workshop with one of your competitors here in Barrie. Your colours are amazing. What dyes do you use?
In general wool will not felt immediately if handled properly. Usually it's constant friction or a drastic change in temperature (ex placing hot fibres into cold water) that will cause it to felt. Also sw yarn which I'm using here has been treated so that it can go in a washing machine so it is less likely to felt.
@@EssenceofAutumnYarn Thank you! That answers so many of my questions. I did a large amount of felting some years ago and I now recall I had to use a lot of friction to achieve good results as well as hot water.
This video is not a tutorial it's just a fun behind the scenes of my work, so no there is no explanations. Check out my series The Basics of Hand Dyed Yarn for Tutorials.
Wow, as you untied the resistant hank after taking it out of the water I was like WOW!
Здравствуйте ,очень красивая пряжа 👍👍👍

👍🏼 And good music!!
OK> The twisted skein dyeing then over dye with knotted resists . . . . BLEW MY MIND. I must try this.
Thanks. I have a lot more to explore with that technique.
Fascinating way to dye yarn! I am new to dying yarn so I’m watching every tutorial I can to learn as much as possible about different techniques.
There are so many different techniques. I'm constantly discovering new methods myself on my dye journey and I look forward to sharing them.
I am so glad that TH-cam recommended your videos to me! Highlight was seeing the wet Hanks on the work surface for the first time. Thanks!
Thank you for watching. It's always a thrill for me to see the yarn come out of the water in all it's glorious colour.

I love watching you work and how you layer on color. Your awesome! May I ask where do you get your tea strainers?
Thank you. The strainers are nothing special I get them from the dollar store as I do most of my dye utensils.

I was disappointed that no explanation was given. Watching the process double time was hard to follow. That said, the yarn is beautiful.
