Lovin it so far ol Regina Patina looks so good out in the rain. Shows what she’ll look like with a lil oil coat on her. Woman of her age and class don’t wear fur coats anymore. By far the coolest patina/sunbake i have ever seen on a truck. I dont know why but I absolutely love the look.
Definitely tuned in for this build....awesome, awesome patina. If you're going the direction I predict, 'Ole Mississippi Mud is gonna be killer! One last thought...Mike & Anna are truly the real deal! I'd keep that passenger fender. It's got really unique wear and tear on it that probably wouldn't work with any other truck.
I get that the pass. side doesn't have the same "patina fade". But you could sand and vinegar that side and make it look close enough without resorting to new (old) panels.
And you may be right. I’m totally undecided on changing that fender. Really all depends on what I could find

Just make sure you get the whole donor vehicle if possible. It'll save you money and time if you have it all. Good luck and enjoy!

Motor looks like a 229 out of like a Malibu or something, looks like a fun build!
A bit late...but that's exactly what I was going to say. I've owned at least 6 g-body based chevys with that engine.

That looks like a Chevy 200/229 out of an old Malibu or Monte Carlo by what I see on those valve cover bolts. Did you guys determine what this old engine was?
The 229 is the consensus. Thanks for weighing in! We're going SBC, but happy to know what the old drivetrain was.

The thing I immediately noticed is it looks like it's got the "wrong" front bumper. Isn't that a bumper for a 83-87 (88-91)?
It definitely does and i meant to mention it. I have a white patina bumper that’s going on it

Yea glad mines correct era chrome front bumper alot of people can't find it have had alot of people wanting to buy mine.
i have a question i have a 83 gmc sierra and it was my grandpa's truck this will be my first restoration and it need's new paint because it has surface rust and the interior is in need of restoration too should i leave the interior out since i'm getting it repainted a different color, since the interior is the same color of the truck now or should i go ahead and replace the interior thanks
To each their own, but if it's an original paint truck, I'd leave it with the surface rust. If you must paint, I would pull the interior so it can be painted in the jams, inside of doors, and the dash metal will be same as outside of truck. Nothing worse than seeing a slick painted truck with a different color paint on the interior metal. Thanks for watching!

My favorite part of this truck is it’s far from done and now I won’t have to watch dancing with the stars every week I have this to look 👀 forward to lol 😂

I'm assuming they didn't put a 231 3.8L BOP engine in the truck so it's probably the Chevy equivalent 3.8L 229 engine.
They did not. This one was somehow swapped for it.
