Hey Wade, I thought this would be the build video of your NIB Presto but your title gave it away. Awesome restoration work, right down to replacing the grub screws! It makes sense to have a pristine Presto in your collection and have another secondhand one for running. If only we have Styro Pyro’s pulse laser that blasts away rust instantly, then getting these old metal parts to shine would be a breeze.
Dude Terence I fully planned on building the kit first then tackling this beast but it was in such sad condition I just couldn’t stand - hopefully it’ll turn out alright. A rust blaster would sure come in handy 😄
Fascinating. Its going to be very rewarding when your done. Lots of love for the older Kyosho models. All the alloy parts and such. Not sure but do they share the same dogbones as the Burns series?
Yeah brother I can’t wait to get it all back together it really bothers me knowing I got a car in the house in such awful condition 😂 Seems like it might share some parts with the burns kits - Jason from true vintage mentioned that as well 👍
Hey, it's hard work restoring vintage nitro, that's what I do, It's very rewarding when you get things working and freed up. I do try and get my Nitro's running where I can, great content and cool video. Dean
Thank you Dean you are absolutely correct it is very rewarding to get one of these neglected old cars back in running condition - I’m not there yet but close now I hope!!!
Yeah man i can’t really tell if they look homemade or not - I probably should have cleaned them up better & got them anodized or powder coated 🤷♂️ The nylon ones look pretty beefy I’m not sure why they’d even need to be upgraded…
Yeah you have your hands full with this one! You have gotten a good bit cleaned up but you do have some more hurdles to get through! Those are some chongous dog bones!
Seriously man hard to believe that beefy ass dog bone got so tweaked out I can’t believe nothing else was jacked up 🤷♂️ More work to do for sure, thank god for Presidents’ Day 😄
Dude Jason I might take you up on your offer - do you know for a fact that the fronts in the vanning/presto are the same ones in the burns? I’ve tried straightening bent ones before with varying degrees of success but I’ve never tried repinning one…
Lucky you brother to be able to get a used one . Too difficult and too costly to build an NIB kid man may be watching it intact offers more joy and when you want to whip it , you can always slave drive this old bastard in nice body 😂❤❤. I also want to buy an used 1/8 gas car such as BMT buddy and Kyosho Genesis etc though I never play gas before. By watching them somehow is as joyful as slave driving it 😅😂
Hey Gary if you never started up or drove a nitro buggy you need to get that in your bucket list brother it is quite an exciting experience indeed - I’ve always wanted to try on of them big ass nitro road cars!!!
What an opportunity, great decision to save this one..... brilliant!
Thank you brother I’m like a cat lady for stray RC cars 😂

Right on brother might be time we get you a couple in your garage 👍👍
Coming along nicely. That body does look great.
Thanks Keith I’m just glad I finally got the PB blaster fumes out of my house 😄
Nice Vid! I can't say I have ever seen metal bulk heads for front/rear as mine are nylon, so you have something very special or custon!

They should bring it back as an ev.
I wish they’d bring them all back 🤩🤩🤩
@@wadeskelton7585 agreed.
I have always liked the old school 1/8 IC cars. If you need some dog bones and drive cups let me know. I have surplus Kyosho Burns items if it helps.

chain looks like the vanning type, to bad the electric optima original didnt come with this chain, the ladder chains sucked.
Yep I know the chain you’re talking about and I have to agree it’s definitely not my favorite 👎
