Such a respectfull and honest man. Upmost respect also for what hes doing for UK boxing in this day of era. Always great to see him on The Gloves are off
It's ok big man. There's nothing wrong with shedding a tear or two when talking about the biggest inspiration in your life, who has sadly departed. The man that took you from obscurity to a long reigning, respected world champion. Us men can't be macho all the time. Walk tall like the champ and man that you are. God bless. 💙
Johnny showed all the casual fans never write a fighter off many losses at the start of his career! Everyone would be shouting hang up the gloves. Yet he become a world champion!!
Most important video for men on TH-cam!! Made me blub (and I never blub). This interview is literally riddled and laced with sincerity and wisdom!! Fantastic Honest Humble Giant of a Man!! God Bless You!! Thank you so much Johnny you may have helped save me from myself. :)
Me too. Glad people are talking about it more and I wish I'd had someone like Mr ingle when I was little. My dad never wanted me and left me when I was 4.
Top bloke. The release you feel when you talk about your problems is indescribable. It’s not easy, it’s hard but take your time and do it at your own pace and speak to people you trust. Great interview, quality!
Remember thinking Jonny was embarrassing when he ran from deleon when I was a kid, I've grown up and realized this man has gone on to make us all proud and to never write a dog off. Proud of jonny, what an inspiring character.
Johnny nelson is in my top 5 British fighters of all time. For what he endured, how hard he tried, what he achieved and what he gives to us now as a pundit. He’s an absolutely class human being.
God bless Jonny, Brendan is still looking over you and admires the great champion and man you are. Mental health ain't no joke I've suffered for years and would help anyone I could 🤟
I had the pleasure of meeting Johnny when he came to Birmingham, on an evening with Mike Tyson, he spent at least 10 minutes just talking Boxing with me. Totally Genuine authentic, and I thought at the time, what a guy he would be to have as a friend
Grew up in the steel city watching Johnny and bomber graham. Absolute legends and should be given key to the city. Two of Sheffield’s finest. When Nelson speaks everyone listens.
For being such a great former champion his opinion and predictions are usually awful! Class act though, good to see hes moving away from the mr sky approach
The Ireland of Ireland is within the British isles like it or not, yes he was Irish but the independent country of the Republic of Ireland is still geographically based in the British isles
Such a powerful, inspiring interview. I didn't know too much about Johnny Nelson before this (only when he is presenting boxing interviews etc.) and my admiration for this guy is through the roof after watching this.
What a lovely respectful man. People that are influential role models and society pillars need to be appreciated. I remember a man called Joe Cahill, he ran our youth club as kids growing up and was a great man. He never judged us. He ran the club, was our football coach, he even gave me a music rehearsal space when I started a band! He used to look after up to 50 kids at a time and we all respected him. I don’t remember a time he told us off he just commanded respect and even the toughest kids never messed with him. It was a haven for us.
Well played Johnny Nelson. Thank you for allowing me to watch you move into and around the ring. The 1990's were great... You were part of that. No need to cry anymore. Live, love and laugh...
Really informative as it always is when he talks such a genuine lovely fella. I like him so much as a commentator and pundit it’s easy to forget he was a such a talented fighter. It is really important role models like Johnny and Tyson share their battles with mental health as its about giving those suffering in silence the confidence to speak out when hard men like these can open up and say they have felt low at times 👍
Johnny u are a legend any boxing fan who loves the game and pays for every box office event knows how special St Thomas gym was and still is Johnny love and respect brother fantastic world champion / pundit/man in genre Bredon ingle was an exceptional man!!!!!
What an incredible legacy...even years after brendans death he is making grown men cry...so strong was his impact on people and the community. R.I.P king brendan
You know I was an amateur boxer for 5 years and the only man that ever knew my fears and unconfidence was my boxing trainer in the corner of my fights , when you step in that ring and crowd is watching there is no pretending , you are gonna show who you are weather you like it or not... and I can feel Johnny's pain ... that man Brendan new his fears believed in him and made him a champion and that is worth more money that will ever be made in the world
I know his brothers who in Dublin city centre had the Matt Talbot boxing club in city quay on the River Liffey, and his brother Tony, who kept the pigeon racing alive for his father, and what a great pigeon man Tony is till this day. A legend in the pigeon racing game in Ireland. A great family all round to be honest.
He had a great career, I only know of him from his sky sports work with The Gloves Are Off . He's right , don't let others opinions dictate what you do
Absolutely love Johnny nelson great sense of humour and a great ambassador for boxing . Nothing wrong with showing emotion and love. You wouldn’t be human if you didn’t and as you said better to speak out than to keep your problems to yourself 👍🏻
The nicest guy in sport let alone boxing ....but would not mess with him 👊. A realist, a guy down to earth and has experienced many different challenges in life . Good work 👍
I've always liked Johnny Nelson and how he handles himself, but after watching this respect levels have gone through the roof. Top man.
Me too, a real man.
Such a respectfull and honest man. Upmost respect also for what hes doing for UK boxing in this day of era. Always great to see him on The Gloves are off
Respectful and honest - well said.
It's utmost dude..... 😬
A shame he wasn’t so respectful in the ring!
It's ok big man. There's nothing wrong with shedding a tear or two when talking about the biggest inspiration in your life, who has sadly departed. The man that took you from obscurity to a long reigning, respected world champion. Us men can't be macho all the time. Walk tall like the champ and man that you are. God bless. 💙

It shows how much he respects and misses the guy,and anybody can appreciate that ,shows hes a genuinely decent bloke
Nicely put. Stay Safe brother
Thank you my friend, you too. 💙

Real men cry Jonny! Shows a great friendship and massive signs of respect and loyalty!

What a man I suffer from bad anxiety and terrible depression seeing more men like this speak out gives us all hope

نيلسون بطل حقيقي اتذكر عندما كان يغضب من الانهاء المبكر لخصمه ، بطل عظيم يحمل قلب مفعم بالاحساس والاخلاص لمدربه انجل ، تحية لكم من الكويت ❤
One of the bravest men in the game for having the courage to bare his soul like that. Much respect.
Remember thinking Jonny was embarrassing when he ran from deleon when I was a kid, I've grown up and realized this man has gone on to make us all proud and to never write a dog off. Proud of jonny, what an inspiring character.
He fought a lot of WBO bums tho..
@@PatkaBoy831 Don't end up like that muppet who was brave to write letters but legged it after a pinch from JN....lol
Always love watching his interviews. A real underdog story his career for anyone who hasn't read his book get on it!
What a gent. I never realised how good a person he is
Nelson is such a good guy you can tell from just the emotion he puts into everything he does
Johnny nelson is in my top 5 British fighters of all time. For what he endured, how hard he tried, what he achieved and what he gives to us now as a pundit. He’s an absolutely class human being.

I think he's in a good place now...that comes with maturity
Is Brendan ingle the greatest trainer from British shores in our history? Think he might be. Legend.
Gotta be up there.
Irish shores* he’s not British mate
The Ireland of Ireland is within the British isles like it or not, yes he was Irish but the independent country of the Republic of Ireland is still geographically based in the British isles
