I started painting for the first time in my life at the start of COVID-19. (A nurse age 61) I have never taken a penny for my creations but take donations for the local community assistance program. I’ve collected $2,420.00 to date. I don’t know what I would’ve done without my rock painting “therapy”. I also feel I’m doing something positive in this difficult time. Thank you for assisting me in this journey.
I love the idea, but I think I would like to make the opening a bit smaller and put two eyeballs looking out. I’m just painting for a bit of therapy and to add them amongst my flowerbed. I don’t have enough talent to leave them along a path or at the base of a tree. And, I know no one would pay money for it. Thank you for helping me doodle. :-) One added bit of critiquing, I would have liked you to zoom in to see the shading of the cracks, unless it is at the end, then in that case, thank you.
It would be so cute with eyes! As far as leaving them around even the most simple ideas can make people smile. We have loads of little heart ideas. The kiddos love finding those :)
Love this technique. I did the heart video one that you showed. I must say the quality of this video was not very good. the focus was getting blurry at times and most of the time I couldn't here what you were saying. The volume was very soft. In the end, I got the idea of what you were creating
Hi... my rock is a little darker than yours and the black line around the edge is not showing up real well. Do you have any suggestions? Thx in advance
When I paint my color over the white, it makes the white layer wet too and I get horrible streaks of the rock showing through. How are you keeping the base layer intact to paint on?
Yes I do and there are a couple options! There are spray sealers, brush on sealers, and resin! I have some suggestions on those here - rockpainting101.com/best-sealer-painted-rocks/ as far as applying the sealer I have quite a few tips for that. Maybe its my phone but the volume is all the way up and I can barely hear you. Especially, and understandably, when you are focusing on painting something.

I'm so glad you have found some therapy in art. It can do wonders
Yes😊
I like the idea of redoing this .. with universe behind the cracks
That would be cool!
Great video! I love painting rocks! I am watching from Canada. We need as much light in this darkness as possible.

Amazing
Thanks!!
Fabulous video. Hearing from ohio
Awesome! Thank you!
what size paint pen do you use...which tip?
I am using the Posca Extra fine tip (1M) in this video :)
I keep a blow dryer on my table when I’m painting rocks so that I can quick dry in between my next step
Yes!! I do sometimes when I’m not filming. Always feel like that would be pretty noisy in camera 🤣
What do you think about using liquidtex as a base coat, then paint with your white & yellow?
Is that a clear coat? I know some painters do that before they paint. I never have... but, give it a go! Won't hurt to try :)
Thank you@@RockPainting101
Yes I can it may be muted on their end

Thank you for the feedback... might have been a bad connection on the live from Facebook. Sometimes it is better than others.
Hi... my rock is a little darker than yours and the black line around the edge is not showing up real well. Do you have any suggestions? Thx in advance
Not really... because a lighter line wont create the crack look.
@@RockPainting101 I tried to shadow it with a gray alongside the black. Looks ok.

Make sure your white layer is completely dry before adding on your next layer.
Also, do you seal these with something?

...the light of Jesus... ?? The light of.,.. ???
It really depends on what is in the heart of who finds the rock
