Bro I need your help. My 70s HB bearings are noisy and would like to change it but, repair guy says it would be better not to touch it or else it get ruins due to age.
The repair guy also said that it may ruin the insulation which is untouched for several years. So should I repair bearings or not ?? I hope to see your suggestions!
You Should Quickly Change the Bearings. Don't Listen to the Electrician Guy he Doesn't make any Sense. I changed both of my Chandel Air Fans Bearings Twice, Nothing went Wrong, However Don't punch the Coil while removing the Bearing. Maintain the Original Coil just like how my 1st Chandel air is. If The Bearings are not Shaft Affixed then It's All Great. But if they are Stuck on the Shaft Be CAUTIOUS. So after You Remove the Bearing Sand the Area Slightly with a Smooth Sand Paper and Use Rubber Sealed 6201 (bottom) and 6203 ( Top) Bearings. *SKF if Possible*. AFTER this Don't open the Fan Frequently.

And is it correct that its 6201 and 6202 bearings because Sb said it 6202 and 6203. I haven't opened fan and I will never open it because I don t have experience in old technology fans. I hope it won't damage the 3 wires coming out of the motor shaft.
These 16pole fans like dec air and hb always had a single 420 ohm resistor with a rotary switch. Other 12pole fans like hsd, hs, aura and all had a 630 ohm resistor with a rotary switch. Same in appearance. Only resistor difference based on the no. Of poles of coils and turns in the fan
