My family on my father's side are McTaggart and Kennedy, both families come from Ayrshire in Scotland, with most of my McTaggart family coming from Glasgow. I remember visiting the castle, and seeing one of the portraits of one of the Kennedy family, they had the same eyes, and features as my granny. I always get my family had a connection to the castle and area, and I truly felt I was home when I came to visit Ayrshire and Culzean.
I stayed in the castle for one night in 2007, I did think it was funny that none of the hotel staff stayed there overnight, they just gave us a key and told us to get on with it. After we got back from dinner I did take a walk around and did manage to scare myself silly, so much so that I ran back to my room like a 6 year old school boy. That said, I didn't hear or see anything.
I've stayed a night there and nothing happened, I'm not being skeptical here but there is no proof of it being haunted, I live around Ayrshire so I've visited the castle more than ounce and never experienced anything, it appeared to be peaceful out of all the times I've visited. Although I have friends who said they have seen stuff there but I haven't seen anything. Edinburgh on the other hand has a haunted Castle, haunted tunnels and a very haunted cemetery called the Greyfriars Kirk-yard, I felt an invisible hand slap me across the face in there, ever since then I'd never go back in the cemetery.
My first trip to Culzean I was around 9 or 10 and I'd seen an older man with a beard walk on the upper levels when in the staircase room. He wore a suit almost but with an almost ascot tie type thing? Like the Beethoven thing. He watched me as he walked, and I watched him back, but we didn't make eye contact (?). I asked our guide and he said there was only 3 female staff members present, no one saying in the Eisenhower suite, and that only guided tours were allowed at that time bc they were renovating the castle and didnt want wanderers. I went back today for the second time, 16, and took my friend with me who I've never told this story. When we got to the staircase room she got really spooked and said she felt like the stair room would be haunted and I was just like heck

I live close to and have been to Culzean many a time. beautiful grounds. lovely walks.. used to take my dog and my son-when he was much younger- and walk in and out the forest walk. to the lake have an ice cream or a cup of tea. was always a wonderful day out, even in the rain always something to see.
I have heard that story about the piper before only it was supposed to be set in Edinburgh in a tunnel under the Royal Mile. He could be heard playing until about half way down the Royal Mile and then the music stopped. The story goes that he was never seen again.
My grandmother was born in the castle, and spent a few years there. Now, when we were talking about her experiences while there, SHE mentioned the caves, how she used to run through there and that they were damp and smelly, plus, she also said about hearing the piper,without me mentioning anything about him to her, now, would you say, that what she was saying too, was false.
i've been there and we stayed there for two days. I'm not an easily scared person, but i have to say, that the whole aura of the place is very heavy. I constantly sensed someone's presence. As if someone was following and watching my every step and action. I also heard creaking noises in the living room, while i was taking bath. No one was there at that moment. After taking bath, I was stuck in a tiny bathroom, bc the door lock wouldn't turn. I thought it broke, but after good 5 mins (which seemed like a freaking eternity) i managed to open the door and checked the lock - it was not broken...O.o Even though the castle is beautiful, historic and the service is luxury... i must say, i won't stay there again. The castle is huge, filled with old paintings and old furniture, including old mirrors. Employees are not staying in the castle overnight, which is strange.

In few places, I was attacked by few ghosts and saved by one spirit of a benevolent kind. The latter spirit came many times into my life usually to save my life from myriad dangers. I'm from Ayr that is further up the coast from Culzean. I have been there and found nothing. The house that I lived in before was haunted without a doubt, that house has changed me and caused me mental health issues. I'd like to know why these people don't go to help people with problems after experiencing paranormal activity. They should stop babbling nonsense and provide support to those who need it.

From just before dusk to when it starts to gets light is never 24 hours, why does Yvette always say "and for the next 24 hrs we are....." oh no your not! you're going to walk in & do about 6 or 7, maybe 8 hours tops - as you always do - we can tell from outside light conditions glimpsed periodically through windows, door-glass etc - often it's still totally dark when you say "following that, we then wrapped it up for the night" or "I had had quite enough for 1 night (big clue) & was glad to finally wrap things up"......24 hrs ?...my fat arse it is!

There was a doco on that.. where they wrote some bogus stuff on the internet about a place and then advertised for "Genuine" Physics for a "Haunted Pub". The whole thing was totally set up and each of the 3 Physics feel into the trap like Dominoes. The stories on the internet were complete Fiction and each "Physic" recycled the internet story. Makes me sad that people do this for money. Women don't seem to earn the "Big Bucks" that the Men do, and I don't see why people think Men are worth more?

Loved the first three series of Most Haunted. This, Drury Lane and Clerkenwell House of Detention were my favourite episodes of all.

I respects people right to believe in their own faith. now, i will say its pretty amazing what the human brain can do to us. when put into a dark place we are not familiar with. even worse when you bring up unnatural things before hand. you basically trick your self into thinking a crickets fart is a ghost howling. who does not like to be scared. its good fun. as long as we have control over when we stop it. thanks for the good drama. funny stuff :)
