    Thank you for having such a fun way of presenting. SF training can be so boring BUT not with you. I have learned a lot and it isn't painful at all!! Thank you.

    Thanks bro. You saved my day. That diff. of action from button means a lot to me because my client is disappointed of going to other page from record page after triggering flow. And it is really disgusting. So now I changed it into action.

      Thank you! Will do! Flows are now a major thing in Salesforce as they announced they're decommissioning Process Builder and Workflows! So yes, more to come in the year - Thanks again :)

    Thanks so much for this video - and all your content!
    Can I do the quick action option on a list view page? Essentially, I want to override the "New" button of my object without having to make a lightning component but want it to pop up as a modal like the quick action option does.

      As far as I know from present functionality no you can't. Although there is a Salesforce Labs package on the app exchange I've used to allow Flows to open in a modal/popup. Here you go: appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000FMYinUAH

    Any suggestions on how to launch a screen flow from an email/link in an email/button in an email?

    How do I have it create a specific record type? I am hitting an issue when I am debugging the flow and I think it is because of the record type SF is choosing to use.

    Great videos Adam, is there anyway to create a flow to automatically update dates on a dashboard? Sorry if it's a dumb question, I am very green to Salesforce. Thanks!

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are not silly questions. Sometimes they highlight a limitation in the functionality that leads to improvements. So I know, what dates do you mean exactly? My answer without knowing is a likely 'no'. I say this on the basis that dates in a dashboard are usually from reports, that are displaying field values on records. You can update those fields using flows, etc, but not through a Dashboard, only by querying the data itself. What is it you're trying to do?

    Hi Adam, I was able to get the URL to work (which opens in a new page) but i cant for the life of me get the Action to display on the layout. Admin has Flow user, and all permissions necessary and nothing. The only button the shows is t he URL one. Any suggestions?

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there Ali,
      The thing to be careful of is adding it to the right layout. Sometimes you might be updating what you think is the layout for your profile but it's instead updating a default. Try going to the Object (in Object Manager) and then Page Layouts and see what the page layout assignment is. You can also do it from within the Lightning layout (Assignment button top right). The other thing to note is that it can take a min or two to show on the page due to SF's load times for new changes. Finally, there is a newer/easier way to add your custom button (if on a custom object) and that's to go to the edit page for the Lightning page layout, and enable 'Dynamic Layout' and then you should be able to add 'Actions' (buttons) to that layout. Hope that helps.

    Hi can you please tell me how we can save a recordID from flow in the url's step

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, thanks for the comment. Regarding your query, I think what you're asking for is, "how to pass the ID of a record through a URL, to the Flow"? If that's right, please check out my other video on creating a Discount Calculator using Flow. In the video it shows you how you create variables for the record ID's in the Flow first, then once done, create a custom button that will pass the record ID's to the flow: th-cam.com/video/gtKh6wzfqFM/w-d-xo.html

    What if I have a parent and its child object as a related list and I want to override the 'New' button on the child object with the screen flow? How do I add the buttons there?

    • @AdamFoyston
      @AdamFoyston  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, so you instead create the button as a 'List Button' then you can add it in the Related List :)

    Not once you showed what happens when you click 'Next' on your flow. Completely useless.
