- A lot of people have asked what the car sounds like on the road.
Normal highway driving sounds great. Not really much of a drone, you only hear the car when you get on the throttle. Volvo put a lot of sound deadening in the car, it helps.
From what I have heard/seen, it is significantly louder on the outside of the car, everyone around you will hear when you flyby.
What exhaust, you may ask? I chopped off the mufflers and installed straight piping back to stock tips. All (4) cats, and the mid muffler are still there and still stock.
Would I recommend this car? Tough question. Many people on the internet say the car is very reliable... My car has not been that way. The previous owner did not do any preventative maintenance and I have been suffering the consequences ever since. My thoughts?
If you want an AWD V8 Sedan under 10k, there are few other choices to make, so yea, the Volvo is a good choice. Buy one with a good maintenance record.
If you're looking for a sporty car? This car handles like a boat. Lol.
If you want a reliable luxury car? Lexus is a far better choice. GS400/GS430 or an IS350 would be good choices.

Beautiful sound. This car only needs one more thing: a manual transmission

Thanks for the video. I have been thinking about doing the exact same thing with my V8 for a while now. Keeping the four cats and the middle muffler but straight piping the two rear mufflers.
Anyway, are you saying the car still sounds fine on the Highway? Nothing loud and/or annoying. I like the car to roar when I want it to roar and be quiet when I want it to be quiet :D
EDIT: I just noticed that in your first video, you already told me "You put cruise control on at 60-70 mph and its almost as quiet as stock." :D So I guess I've got my answer right there
Yup! No drone on the highway unless you're on the throttle. I daily drive it, and never have a problem. Passengers have commented on how quiet the car is on the highway as well.
About to do the muff delete as well. Also going through the maintenance mess. Started with valve cover gaskets, now timing cover, and oil pan leaking. Going to just go ahead and do it all. Power steering pump pressure hose also is starting to give out. As far as the handling it does feel a little rocky but you should check out the sway bars for these. Heard some good things about them.
I've heard the rear sway bar is the trick for handling. But every time I think of modifying the car something breaks lol

how much did it cost you?
An exhaust shop was able to fabricate the tubes for 200$. That included the mounting brackets, bending the tube right, and reattaching the tips
@@ryanleggott2716 What exhaust shop did you go to? I’m in the Seattle/Tacoma area with a T6 and was looking into getting something similar done. Also, if you ever decide to sell your car, hit me up because I’ve always wanted the V8 version! Sick car man
@@_erl_allento320 it was a shop in Everett but i forgot what it was called. I don't quite know if I would recommend them, it wasn't the best experience. Not the worst but not the best
What rims do you have?
17 in rims from Niche. They look very good (when they aren't curbed to hell like the previous owner did to mine)
Does it have drone with the windows down?
Highway speeds you dont want to have the windows down anyway... Around town, it's decently loud but its never annoyed me much. So yes it drones but not enough to be annoying. I can still have conversations and still listen to music without being bothered. On throttle, you near little else besides the exhaust lol
